I've turned to Lita for multiple things. She's tailored my military uniform, hemmed pants for me, and she also did alterations for my wedding dress that I bought online. Each time, she met my needs, and the finished product has always been perfect. The one time that stood out the most was my most recent visit. It was the day before my Army Officer Commissioning Ceremony and I realized that the clips for my ranks we're sewn on wrong by the original tailor. I brought in my jacket, and Lita had it fixed perfectly for me to wear the next day to my Commissioning. She is so sweet, and she helped to ease my panic that I was experiencing that day because, honestly, I didn't want to look like an idiot at my Commissioning. If you are in a huge hurry, tell her or find another location to hem or alter. She will drop everything in an emergency but might take a few days for something simple unless you let her know. She is a one woman shop and it can get busy. Just so you know. The gal that runs it is super friendly. I was in no hurry to get my pants back so the delay of a couple days didn't bother me. My hem was perfect. The new zipper looked like it was the original. She matched it perfect. I will certainly take my sewing needs back here every time. Tailor cannot keep promised schedule. Clothes dropped off for tailoring in August, after checking on the status again and again (each time was told to come back next week) for several months, I eventually gave up and picked up my un-tailored clothes in November. read more

I stopped in on a Tuesday to drop off a simple alteration on a small curtain. I basically needed it cut in half and hemmed to have two panels instead of one. She told me she would have it done that Friday and to come by for it then. I specifically asked her if I should wait for her call before coming and she said "no it will be done on Friday, just come by anytime". When Friday rolled around I took off work to pick up my curtain and to my surprise she said "I've been very busy and it's not ready". I was surprised and I said I wish you would have called or text to let me know it would take additional time. She said defensively, "well why didn't you call me?". I responded, "you specifically said just show up Friday and they will be ready" and she said "well they aren't Im busy". I was tempted to just ask for my curtains back in their original state and take my business somewhere else but she said she would have them ready by the end of the day so I left and literally 5 minutes later received a text saying. "Curtains are ready $25 cash only". I was surprised that she could have done them so fast and thought maybe she forgot that they were already complete, in any event I went back and picked them up and she was very rude to me. I will never patronize this establishment again something is strange about this lady. read more

I ordered a small sized dress off amazon that was is going to be used for our elopement. Long story short, I got sent a large size. Instead of dealing with the hassle of sending it back and HOPING I got one sent back in the right size and in time for the date, I decided to take it in. She has helped me out when in a bind twice now. Very nice, affordable, and does a great job.

She took longer than she said she would to insert drawstrings into two skirts that came with heavy elastic. She did a good job removing the elastic without damaging the skirt. She told me she would use flat drawstring so it wouldn't make a lump at the waist when I tied it, and when I said I preferred to tuck the drawstring ends inside, she said she would make the holes inside the waistband. She also said something about looking for colors to match. When I picked up the skirts, the drawstring was round white cord about as thick as clothesline but softer, tying on the outside. The thread on the side seams was not knotted off where she'd redone the side seams after removing the elastic, and she even used white thread on a green skirt to finish one side. The holes for the strings, in cotton knit skirts, were not finished off, just holes. No button-hole type finishes around them. She did say if I left them longer, she could fix what I found unsatisfactory, and admitted the prom had "kicked my butt." She claimed flat drawstring in other colors was hard to find. I found some on Amazon. I'll secure the side seams better by hand myself. I'll order and insert the drawstrings. I don't know how to finish off the holes to protect the fabric. Maybe I can get someone to teach me. But I had no confidence in her and felt she saw me as more of an inconvenience than a customer. read more
