I got my first brazillian laser treatment from Sev and this is how it went. It was my first time so I got in for the free session. I had gotten laser on my stomach before from another clinic and it did not work. I was pretty upset so I went ahead and got electrolosis and it went away. I came to Sev with low expectations due to my previous laser experience at the other clinic. I walked in and I was not greeted by the front desk receptionist. I signed in with the Ipad. After my laser treatment- the front desk receptionist told me I was supposed to sign in with her... well you did not greet me when I walked in and you asked all the other patients in there to sign in with the IPad so I followed the lead since it is my first time here and I have no clue what I am supposed to do. Anyways- I got my treatment done. My nurse was amazing. I wasn't expecting this to work. But it has been 2 weeks and my hair is ACTUALLY starting to fall out. I never experienced this at the last clinic.... Anyways- I would absolutely love to buy a package for the 1.5 years, but I just started a testosterone treatment that will make me hairy and my doctor advised me to old off on laser right now. Very disappointed with my experience at Sev Laser. I had purchased 6 sessions for one treatment area, but during my last visit I was shocked to find out at checkout that staff had somehow booked me for a 7th appointment without ever informing me that I had reached my final paid session. No one told me I was on my last session, asked if I wanted to continue, or got my consent to schedule anything additional. To make matters worse, I was then told I would be charged a cancellation fee for an appointment I never agreed to or knowingly booked in the first place and cant get ky other lSt teo sessions until I pay! Being pressured into paying for something I never authorized felt extremely unprofessional and misleading. This shows a serious lack of transparency, poor communication, and unacceptable business practices. Clients should always be clearly informed when they are on their final session and asked for consent before extra appointments are made. Anything less feels deceptive. I've paid for my remaining sessions in other areas and expected a much smoother experience. Very frustrating and disappointing. It was really busy on the day I went, but Priscilla at the front desk did an amazing job juggling all the clients coming in while handling phone calls. Even though it was hectic, she still made sure everyone--including me--had their needs met without ever feeling rushed. My microneedling was done by Dianna, who is hands down AMAZING. She was so sweet, thorough, and made me feel completely comfortable. She explained everything step by step and made the whole experience wonderful. I have been struggling with body hair ever since I was little. I have tan skin and my hair is thick and dark. I grow hair pretty much everywhere and tried every single hair removal method you can think of over the years: threading, waxing, hair removal cream. But the one thing I never tried and was skeptical about was Laser. I have been waxing for the past decade and although my hair grows back thinner each time, my waxing bill always turned out to be hundreds of dollars. I was starting to get tired of the constant wax appointments and money I was dropping each month. My boyfriend surprised me with a 6 treatment session to SEV for Christmas. He knew I always wanted to try it and that it is something I struggle with. I just had my first appointment 1 month ago for a Brazilian. The procedure was a bit painful but very quick. People say it feels like a rubber band snapping but for me it felt like tiny needle pokes. I was out of the room in 5 minutes. My hair started to grow back and I was skeptical BUT exactly 2 weeks later in the shower 70% of my hair fell out! I was shocked. I still have 5 sessions left but honestly I might be done earlier. I am so amazed and words cant describe how it feels. Being a hairy girl for years. It's amazing what laser can do. If you are like me and thinking about getting laser, PLEASE DO IT. I can't believe I have waited THIS long to invest in laser. If I knew the results would be like this I would have done it way earlier! The prices are honestly not that bad considering the results you get. They do let you know that laser is "semi permanent" so you might have to go back for touch ups here and there and hormones tend to play a role in new hair growth. However, these results so far are better than any other method I have tried. I am so excited to continue my laser journey with SEV. Other things to note about SEV: - Parking is really hard in this area as it is near the La Jolla children's pool (a very touristy area) I would HIGHLY recommend getting to this area at least 30 minutes early to find parking. - The service was incredible. The girls noticed I was out of breath when I came in because it was a hot day and I walked up the hill to get here. They gave me a water bottle and was super friendly. - The laser tech also was very friendly and answered any questions I had including making me feel comfortable during my appointment. read more

I'm a long standing patient and I loved this location u til today. I came in for a free lip flip and the injector, Ellie, informed me that I had some left over and if I want to pay $26 more, then she can put them at my crows feet. I said wow that's a great deal and she agreed so that was done and I paid at checkout for what I was told and agreed upon. When I get home I get a text that she messed up with quoting me and it was $78 additional. I didn't agree on that and would not have went for it at this time had I known. Then I get charged without my authorization on a mistake not made by me. I want a refund immediately as I didn't have those funds available for that, this is so upsetting . read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the SEV Laser San Diego location. I showed up for my paid laser session only to be told I couldn't be treated because my sessions had expired due to my pregnancy which is something that should have been clearly communicated when I booked over the phone. Instead, I arranged childcare, drove to my appointment, and wasted my time for nothing. To make things worse, the staff member I dealt with was extremely unprofessional. She claimed she didn't have access to my sessions in her system and offered no real help or courtesy. The customer service was terrible from start to finish. A business that deals with appointments and prepaid sessions should know how to communicate policies and manage their system properly. Super inconvenient, frustrating, and honestly unacceptable. Sev urgently needs major training in customer service. I had an interaction with them a couple of months ago, which led me to decide to stop my laser treatment. I wanted to purchase a package they were offering, but they refused to sell it to me because I wasn't a new customer--even though I had already completed three treatments with them only. I explained that the package would save me money and that I could even bring my daughter to sign up for the same package. However, they still refused. I had my first Brazilian laser session today and was so impressed. The front desk was very welcoming and attentive. My nurse was Kat and Alyssa was observing. They were very sweet and approachable. They were thorough with their explanations. The only thing that was a bit awkward was that they had me undress in front of them (back turned) instead of leaving the room- but other than that it was a great experience. Compared to my other laser appointments elsewhere, their machine has a function where it blows cold air so you don't feel much. They're great at adjusting the frequency that works best for you. I came to Sev Laser for their free trial and left feeling really disappointed and uncomfortable with the experience. First, the treatment itself felt extremely rushed. The nurse was in the room for barely 5 minutes and didn't seem to do a thorough job at all. It felt more like they were trying to get me in and out as fast as possible rather than actually provide quality care. Then when I went to the front desk to buy a package, things got even worse. I had already seen the Groupon deals and knew they were cheaper, but the front desk employee kept insisting that the front of the neck was considered an extra-large area. That didn't make sense to me, so I asked her to show me where it said that. She kept avoiding it and told me it was "in fine print somewhere," but she wouldn't actually pull it up. When I checked for myself, the Groupon clearly lists front of the neck as a medium area--only the face + neck together is extra-large. It really felt like she was trying to upsell me to a more expensive package by giving me misleading information. Overall, between the rushed treatment and the sketchy sales tactics at the front desk, I left feeling like this place is more focused on pushing packages than providing honest service. I've completed 7 laser treatments at SEV, in the underarms & brazilian areas. I used the Groupon XL deal (includes both areas) for the first 6 sessions (about $450). I'm very happy with my results & have noticed a drastic change in the coarseness & growth of the hair. Kim is the best! She's super thorough & I always ask for her ahead of time. After having about 10 appointments, I can confidently say I have seen dramatic results. 1) Effectiveness: prior coming to SEV, I have done bikini line already so I was not 'hairy' or 'bushy' by any means. For Brazilian (which is the most difficult area), my hair went from 80% to 20-30% now. For other areas like Areola, Abdomen, Full Arms, Chest and Happy Trail - I had less than 4 appointments each since I didn't need more than that. 2) Service: I had a few different nurses but one of my favorite nurses (Morgan) left. The nurses are professional and quick/efficient. They almost always asked how the treatments are working and I love that about them as they would suggest what would work best for me. They also give you a rundown of what NOT to do after the treatments. 3) Front Desk/Calling for Customer Service: They are pretty standard. When I called for customer service, they are pretty good about rescheduling. They are popular so expect availabilities 2-3 months out. Also, they text you the day prior if there's other slots available and ask you if you would like to keep it or reschedule which is nice. 4) Parking: parking is always bad at La Jolla. I usually park at Herschel and walk to SEV because I don't want to pay for parking for a less than an hour appointment. 5) You need consistency and patience to see results. Don't expect miracle. Laser Hair removal is not something immediate. Also, SEV always smells nice when I walk in. I love the aesthetics and the cleanliness. Bathroom is well-kept as well. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here to receive laser hair removal treatments. I went a total of 6 times for Brazilian and my face, and it did absolutely nothing. At my third or fourth session, the skin under my nostrils became so red and dry, and I started peeling. The peeling would happen pretty frequently too and my Brazilian area would also get red. It was either at my fourth or fifth session that the girl about to start my lasering was so confused about the settings they had me on. She said the settings were set as if I am black (I'm white). The front desk could of cared less and safe to say I did not return. 6 sessions and maybe only 2 of them had the right settings. Huge waste of my time and money. read more

The Receptionist (P) is top shelf, this is the person you want running your spa hands down. She knows dates times and what's to get you in. She will Let you know if she can't make it happen. It's a small salon with 1 maybe 2 laser pros on hand. So time + space = you may get your appointment months later. She will call you if something where to open up. She's not trying to form a line around the club to make it seem like it's the place to be with no one on the inside. When I got there someone else was leaving and someone showed up at the end. The Confirmation, my lord there are a lot of them, it feels like you have to confirm your confirmation that you previously had to confirm again. And you have to slap a card on that and a photo ID. Get ready to feel like church because you have lots on Confirmation to pass into the holy-of-holy just to get your holy-of-holy's smooth as seals. Parking humm well, there is none really so if you go at high times be ready to walk, there is public valet at 11$ and a public parking garage that's around the same depending on your stay. I got lucky pulled in right close at a 2hr. The laser if you stick to small areas and use the deals either from them or Groupon you will get a good deal even a great deal. It's not the kind of detail work you might be used too if you have gone to a medical or Beverly Hills kind. I think it's an ok option I would be super excited if the detail work was there. Overall keep it to small areas make sure they hit all the area and not just pass over. There will be several hoops you will have to get through, paperwork, FaceTime phone calls, email and text confirmations, far in advance appointments, parking, and a steep staircase. Check with them to see if they have Wheelchair access. After all that if you make it then that will be another one down and several more to go. read more

I waited a while to write this review, as I wanted to give enough time to see if the laser sessions worked. Below is my feedback. 1) the sessions have worked, I am really happy with the results. I just completed my 8th session of a Brazilian. I had no idea why I put myself through waxing pain for years. Laser is much faster and way less painful. 2) the staff are friendly. Some of the technicians are better than others (they'll spend more time in areas that other technicians speed through). I never request for a specific technician because... 3) scheduling can be difficult. My first 4 sessions were scheduled but if you have to reschedule any of them if can be VERY hard. I will say, after my first 4, it got easier to schedule (maybe they hired more people). I also work from home and have a flexible schedule, so that helps. 4) parking issues are expected. I purposely choose random appointment times to avoid tourists. I recommend trying to get there 15 minutes before your appointment to allow for parking issues. 5) would I go back? Absolutely. I'm already considering what other areas I want done. Overall, I recommend SEV but rated it 4 stars due to the difficulty with scheduling and the inconsistent work by technicians. read more

Not enough seating in the waiting area! 5 people are standing up as we speak! Bought a groupon - it's impossible to make an appointment. Their online reservation maker does not work and they never answer the phone. After calling for hours and waiting on hold for too long I finally got a hold of someone just for them to give me an appointment at the end of the month. Customer service is shitty and parking is hard to come by. They're always backed up!!!! I had an appointment for upper lip which takes 1 minute max - why do I have to wait half an hour for such a quiz service when I showed up not only on time but a couple minutes early to my appointment. They also rush everything - instead of taking the time to make sure they don't miss any patches but that's not how they do it. Very small location as well. I've had laser done at other places (used to work at a few different medspas so I'm familiar with the different types of machines and results) and I've never had my hair grow back so fast and thick, I got a package here for maintenance and touch ups, followed all the instructions with timing/aftercare etc and all my hair grew back. I have recommended SEV to all my girl friends looking to do laser. I did six sessions for my underarms and Brazilian area and had fantastic results! Every time I arrived for my appointments, it was a friendly and seamless experience. I think the longest wait I ever had was 3 minutes and once in, I was done in what feels like under 10 minutes. The space is super cute if you do have to wait and everything is super clean. I had a few different girls do my laser but they were all really nice and friendly and helped keep my mind off the actual laser part. It is uncomfortable, but not painful. I decided to try SEV Laser because it was a well known chain, so I figured it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. Because of their "popularity", this spa is focused more on quantity versus quality. I will say the ladies were nice and friendly. I got a Brazilian and armpit laser for my first session. The nurse was not very thorough and missed a lot of hairs. I know because for a Brazilian you should get everything "inside" front and back (if you know what I mean). All she did was use a popsicle stick to laser once on one side in my front. She didn't have me spread my cheeks for the behind so I know she didn't get all the hairs there either. My friend said she already saw a slow down in growth after her first session at a different salon, but my hair is already growing fiercely 2 days later. I wonder if they purposely don't use a stronger setting so you have to come for more sessions... Lastly, like I said, quantity of clients is more important than quality of services provided here. There was no coffee or drink table in the waiting room. No printed after care cards were given following the appointment. No touch up of missed hairs were offered during service. I just started going here for laser hair treatment at the new East Village location and I love it! The staff is so warm and welcoming and make you feel comfortable. The process is quick and practically painless especially with the cold air fan, and you just want to book more sessions for different areas of your body. I have already booked 2 more different body locations to tackle. I have had no issues, side effects or reactions after my sessions so far and it's been such a breeze. The nurse practitioner is super sweet and always making sure you feel comfortable in the process. Plan to come ahead of time for parking, Especially if there's a home Padres game going on. It's a huge red flag to me that I never felt anything when getting laser done here. I didn't even use ice or a numbing cream here.
