I hired ServPro for 3 separate projects on a townhome that I had just purchased. While I was in escrow they provided an estimate and I was told it would take a couple of weeks to complete the work. Work began the week after I closed and a month later, during which I had to chase the project manager via text, phone call and email for updates, the work is finally "complete". I should say that I don't own a million dollar property, I am a young first time home buyer and the property is in East LA - so I'm not sure if this was the reason they decided to give me such terrible service with poor results. Mold Remediation: $3500. They removed mold from different areas of the unit - no problems here except for the fact that no one updated me on how long anything would take/what was going on. At one point, I came home after work and I tried to enter through my garage and didn't realize the whole area had been sealed off because no one told me. Repair: $3700. The area around the bathroom window is uneven and bumpy, if I knew it would have looked so unprofessional I would have just done it myself. I had the electric in the garage fixed and had to keep telling the project manager (Jacob) that the lights were still not working even after he tried to say it was done. The cabinets needed to be repaired after removing the mold, and not only did they leave behind trash for me to throw away, there are nails sticking out and the base of the cabinet box is cracking. The kitchen sink started leaking while the cabinet repair was being done, I noticed and notified the project manager and that same night, the cabinet frame was put in over the leak. They dried out under the cabinet, but only after I said something. At this point, I just want Servpro out, so I don't care to say anything anymore. I've been very clear about my displeasure about the work during this entire process. Deck: $3400. The crew splattered black deck coating all over my walls and didn't clean it up, I am getting them skim coated so I had just primed the walls and had to clean it up or just prime over the spots I couldn't get off. I had mentioned to Jacob if they could take a look at the outside of one of the walls while they were working on the deck, because it was leaking into a room, and instead of doing this, they changed a damaged subfloor and filled in the damaged wall, without addressing the leak issue. At one point in this process I came home and the door to the deck was left wide open, I'm assuming to let the coating dry, which is fine if someone would have communicated with me how long to keep it open. I ended up closing it after two days. The finished deck has a footprint and a bucket mark in the top coating, like someone placed a bucket down and stepped on it while it was wet. There are also splatters all over the door and door frame from the coating. Invoicing: They only take cash, check, or money order - which would have been nice to know at the beginning of all this. I received a call about an overdue invoice that was never even sent to me. I had to request for the office to send it via email because they tried to collect payment through just a phone call at first. When I asked if there was any way to pay electronically, I was told someone could come pick up payment. If that's the case, I would like to receive all invoices to pay at one time. I'm still waiting on 2 more invoices and a response from them. I would just like to pay for all these projects and have it be done with, but even this is a struggle. Conclusion: For a total of over $10k, I expected a professional and decent job. I paid (or am trying to) a lot of money for sloppy and poorly done work, in which some of my personal supplies got taken and I had to chase the project manager to communicate with me. Most of the time I had no idea what was going on, or when there would be people working at my place. I will not recommend this company to anyone. I had a neighbor come ask me who I had working on my unit because she was looking for someone to fix her roof and I told her every reason not to use Servpro. My sister is also renovating a place and when she told me she was going to go through Servpro for something- I told her not to, and now she's not. There are a lot more things that I didn't mention in my review, but I could talk for days about the reasons why I would not recommend ServPro. I had a family friend go in and update all the lighting throughout the unit (excluding the garage, which was ServPro's job) and it took less than a day and everything works perfectly. Go literally anywhere else but here, unless you're interested in throwing away thousands of dollars and experiencing the worst communication only to end up with a job that is completely unsatisfactory. read more

Bad experience with this vendor company! They removed one side of my laundry room's wall, trimmings, and cabinets without putting everything back. They could have left the cabinets in tact by cutting the inside of it instead. Basically all of my deductible went towards removal not repair. Another company informed me that they get paid through how many things they remove. No wonder! Overall, will not be getting this company to repair anything again. read more

I work for a Red Robin in a mall location that had extensive flooding in our bar area due to the tenants in the food court above us. Within 2 days of the flood and only 1 day of us contacting SERVPRO, they were on the job. Start to finish (demo, electrical, repairing ceiling, sanding, and painting, etc) they were done in 3 days. We never had to close the bar even while we were under construction as they were very good about cleaning up and they worked overnight so we could be open for business during normal business hours. One night they even brought 12+ workers in just to finish the job quickly to inconvenience us as little as possible. There were some small touch ups that we pointed out to the job foreman that were all handled the very next day. The entire area looks like it never even was damaged. They were great to work with. Nothing but a praise for the guys from the Servepro. Got burglarized and ended up with shattered back sliding door. Guys came between the two hour window given over the phone after insurance claim was filed. Cleaned up all the pieces, even moved all outside furniture to get the pieces that flew under them, and placed them back where they were. Boarded up the windows, and because we have a little ones, they covered the wood board with a plastic sheet so the kids won't get hurt from bare wood. We could not be happier with the job that Servpro did in taking care of our mold problem. A few months back we discovered that there was mold in a wall in our family room, behind some wallpaper. I called Servpro and they sent out Jacob Menchaca, who tested the area and gave me a quote. He was very professional and worked with me to set up a repair schedule that fit into my calendar. Because of my busy schedule the job was started this past week and James Basch was the Servpro representative in charge of the project. His crew came, set up a plastic barrier, removed the moldy drywall, cleaned the area and had hepa filters clean the air. When the mold test came back negative, James had another crew replace the drywall, plaster the ceiling and wall so that it blended in with the unaffected area and paint. They did this work with the plastic barrier still up as to minimize dust in the rest of the room. The crew then removed the plastic, patched the areas damaged by the plastic and painted those spots. James and both crews were awesome. The tagline for Servpro is to "make it like it never even happened," however in our specific case the room looks better than before because we have a very nice accent wall.
