This is a wonderful toy store. The toys here are unique and hard to find in other places. Lots of educational, creative toys. With 3 grandchildren this is our favorite stop in Blowing Rock. read more

Horribly rude & degrading staff and they don't make their return or exchange policy clear. I highly discourage ANYONE from shopping here or giving their money to such rude customer service practices and business management. I purchased a pair of shoes here that I have the exact same brand of, same style that I purchased at a different store, so I didn't try them on (they were the same size and everything). When I got home and discovered they were too tight, I figured I would just take them back to the store and exchange for some that fit better. Unfortunately when I got there, ALL of them were too tight, no matter what size I chose. I had just purchased them the day before and had my receipt, but they said they only did exchanges for store credit, not returns or refunds. I never saw that policy anywhere and was told it was printed right on my receipt - you know, the thing you get AFTER you pay and purchase an item... Later I discovered it in small print off to the left at the counter, but even then the wording was confusing. One line said "no returns, only exchanges or store credit" and then a line below that said "returns only available for items not on sale" - I wish I had gone back in to get a photo. The store "manager" called the owner and didn't give all the information, talked rudely of us while we were right there and told us returns weren't possible and offered me an exchange for "some napkins or plates"... When I suggested they make their return policy more clear and place it in front of where customers pay, the "manager" said she had never heard of stores making their return policy bigger or clearer... And that most stores do not accept returns... Luckily, another store nearby that sells the same brand was gracious enough to accept a brand new item (the shoes I bought at Serves You Right) and exchange it for a different pair of shoes the same brand at no cost and without hesitation. My family and I have been shopping in and around the Blowing Rock district for decades and we will no longer return to Serves You Right due to how they treat customers. If you want a better place for your business, head to The Shoppes at Farmer's Hardware on King Street in Boone and you'll be greeted by far kinder staff with much more professional business policies. read more

The management is ridiculously unprofessional and rude. I would suggest finding people who enjoy working around kids to work in a children's store. My kids were treated incredibly disrespectfully and we were talked about by the associates when they thought we had already left the store. I will never be back to this store and would not be at all disappointed if this store closed and an actual kid-friendly toy store took its place. read more

In one word. Rude. I was so put off by the staff that I would never go back. They have a no cell phone policy and when my wife received a phone call from her sick mom and answered it to see if she was ok the lady behind the counter rushes out and puts a sign that says no cell phones in her face, I mean literally in her face, inches from her nose. Not a polite notice but an in your face ridiculous reaction. You want to have that outdated policy, so be it, it's your business but since the rest of the world doesn't have that policy, you could let your potential customers know with some good old fashion southern hospitality. It goes a long way. For what it's worth, we didn't see the no cell phone sign when we entered. Go on Yelp and you will see this is not an isolated incident. For overpriced junk I recommend passing on this experience. read more

Cheap merchandise to go along with the unfriendly and rude staff. Was browsing through a book and was told "you can spend as much time as you like looking through that book at home if you buy it.". This was uncalled for and scarcest. If I wanted to buy the book I would have but never after that was stated at me. You will find higher quality merchandise in other stores in Blowing Rock with friendly and polite people. Don't ruin your day by going in here, you will leave mad. read more

I have to agree..this shop is very cute but I would never spend my money there. The owners are rude and kicked me out of their shop for being on my cell phone since they have a no cell one policy in their store. They need to realize they are in a tourist attraction spot and lighten up a little! read more

I was there on Saturday. It was a delightful place to shop and the staff was helpful and fun. I'm not sure if the staff has had a turnover, but these girls were professional. I will be going back soon. read more

My family and I have visited Blowing Rock NC for 40 years for not only day trips from Lake Norman, NC, but also housing rentals for vacations.On 10-17-15 I took my daughter and 2 1/2 year old granddaughter for a day adventure to enjoy the fall colors, and stopped in Blowing Rock, NC for shopping and food. I experienced the most unpleasant and embarrassing experience in my over 40 years of shopping. I have shopped at this store many times in the past, and made purchases. But this will be our last visit not only to this shop, but possibly to Blowing Rock NC area. This store has some unique gifts, and I felt there would be something special for my granddaughter. We were in the children's section,and a corner area with books. My granddaughter loves books, and has a huge collection that even includes all my childhood books. She and her mother were sitting quietly on the floor in the corner at the books, looking at several and reading to determine if age and subject appropriate. From the beginning a staff member was watching us, and came over to observe an item in my hand to purchase and noted my shoulder tote back. I immediately got the impression we were being monitored for shoplifting. This staff member came over several times, the first time asking if she could help us find something. I advised her we were just looking for a book to purchase. There were no customers or other children in that section. If that had been the case we would have politely moved or left the area to allow others to shop. On her return in about 5 minutes she rudely and loudly stated this is not "Barnes and Noble" indicating we needed to move and leave. My daughter was so upset it brought her to tears. We put back the Kitty Ballerina book that was to be purchased along with another item. On our way out the staff member who was standing in the middle of the store with customers around again loudly stated this is not a Barnes and Noble. I am a professional in healthcare, and have never considered speaking to my patients in this manner. Nor do I expect to be treated so rudely as customer who intended on making a purchase. Their ad on the web states this is a Grandparents Dream. Unfortunately that could not be further from the truth. Cannot recommend this shop, and based on other reviews other customers have also had negative experiences. read more
