(DR GERALDINE IS AWFUL!!!!!!)…read more had an absolutely awful experience at forton medical today, been experiencing all symptoms for pneumonia (specifically shivering/sweating among other extreme things) so i rung the doctor to hopefully get antibiotics. in the appointment the doctor was sniggering at and belittling everything i said, which was making me very upset to the point i was holding back tears while i asked her to just listen to what im saying bc she was ignoring all my questions. she said she could bring someone else in and i said that would be great, this person explained very calmly and nicely a few different illnesses and what she thinks i may have, i had a positive experience with the second doctor. i was refused any medication and all i was sent home with an inhaler (i'd been meaning to get a new one for a while). this doctor listened to my lungs while i was wheezing, then told me it seems normal and failed to ask if i smoke. (plot twist i've been a heavy smoker for 5 years- maybe do your job and actually speak with your patients to get to the bottom of the issue??) i've checked my nhs records and seen she's completely lied about me on my own records, saying i was demanding and got asked to leave. that never happened. i said "if you can't help me with how i feel then can i at least have an inhaler and i'll be on my way" she only let me have the blue one even though i asked for the brown one too. the lady at the pharmacy said i should speak to a different doctor because that's out of order she refused to give me the inhalers i asked for, when i've had asthma for almost 20 years... every time i said something that was wrong with me, the doctor had a rude comment to make such as "if you can't breathe then you won't be able to talk" with a smirk on her face. to which i explained how i feel that i can't breathe PROPERLY, that i'm wheezing and feel short of breath. she also said in an extremely rude tone that if i really was worried the past few days then i should've gone to hospital. i explained that some people just done like to burden people with their issues or go to doctors/hospitals, i'm one of those people. i also couldn't get in touch with the doctor due to easter and bank holiday so i had no choice but to suffer and wait, all to be completely disrespected. honestly i just can't believe that i've been to the doctor today for the first time in 5 years due to anxiety and had the most awful experience with such an incompetent doctor. i felt so unheard, judged and i couldn't wait to get out of there. when i left i sobbed in the car until i was ready to pick up my blue inhaler. i will never ever ever attend this practice EVER again.

Since I was last in Portsmouth and used the outpatients department a new building has been built on the site. Recently I had cause to visit and though the appointment was almost on time and the consultant I saw was very throrough and friendly I had the usual issues for parking. All the parking at this hospital is pay and display and there is only one place in the hospital that will give you change. Don't try the outpatients reception (new or old) or even main reception. The only place you can get change is from the main restaurant which is quite a walk down many coridoors. So my tip is take plenty of change for the meters and I'd always opt for a minimum of 2 hours as you never know how long the wait to be seen will be.

Havant Heath Centre is very good for local people, they offer alot of different services to a…read morenormal doctors. They have mothers and babys clubs, family planning, Xrays and minor accident department. It is always clean as you would expect. They also have a chemist on site so you can get your pills without having to go somewhere else.
