I love the shirts, but they are extremely oversized. I ordered xl for the first two and one of them is in reality an xxxl, while the other one is in reality a xxl. So, for the third shirt, i ordered a large, and it fits perfectly--and I'm getting the first two taken up at my seamstress. The shirts are all gorgeous, with a very durable, hefty fabric, but quite expensive, like all of Castaway's products. I doubt that the inconsistency in sizing is uniform throughout Castaway clothing, but probably confined to their madras clothing, which is made in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, as I have found wild inconsistency in madras shirts from another retailer. I cannot say that for sure, however, as I have no other items from Castaway. Last note: each of my shirts are long-sleeved, and the fabric is so thick they are too hot to wear on a very hot day.

Nalu was previously owned by someone else, very friendly; enjoyed going in there. They've since relocated a few times around town. I looked forward to going in there (and spending money). Again, my latest experience with this woman was so terribly uncomfortable and blatantly aggressive upon just entering the shop, I immediately said to myself I can't possibly give her my business. I said hello and very bubbly tried to converse with her (as she was the only person in there) I commented on their new location and she snapped back immediately as if in attempt to embarrass me, "we've only moved twice" then went on to speak to me as if a 1st grader, slowly describing each previous shop location. She kept repeating "Two" "we've only moved TWICE" "that's only two moves". I stopped smiling, looked down and didn't say anything more. She then laughed and said something else about how it was only two moves. It was appalling and awkward. Instead of engaging in such barbaric banter and even acknowledging her lack of professionalism, I just graciously said thank you very much, and left. I will not be returning and certainly never purchasing from there ever again. Which is a shame considering it was one of my all time favorite shops. To make matters worse, while walking out of her shop, she very facetiously, condescendingly and mockingly said "bye, thanks for coming in, have a good day". She will be terribly disappointed in her poor attitude towards customers and having pushed them out like this when she is in need of that incoming revenue to keep her business alive. And if she is not the owner, I hope she is replaced fast.
