The resources Cynthya provided made me and my husband feel informed, extra prepared and confident as we navigated all the choices we needed to make. From the moment we met Jeni, she made us feel so at ease and excited about our labor and delivery journey and she created such a calming and sacred space in the hospital for us. Jeni advocated for us when we needed it and provided emotional and physical support that made me feel safe and empowered the entire time to have an unmedicated birth. Her post partum visit saved my breastfeeding journey where she gave us valuable advice and almost 5 months later, I am still happily breastfeeding. We couldn't be more grateful for Happiest Doulas!!

We originally reached out to the company because of a positive referral from one of my coworkers, and ended up hiring them because of their vast experience and professionalism. Jeni has attended numerous births at Piedmont, which is where we chose to deliver. She was absolutely fantastic and a great resource to help us learn and prepare. With her support, we achieved our goal of an unmedicated, low intervention hospital birth. She did an excellent job of understanding our preferences and my personality, and was a vital part of the team!

So therefore they will be at all of my baby's healthy perfect births!!! Two down more to come. The best comfort to help me in every wae needed. First time was scary asf. I'd want to say it was better then the first mentally because it was known what was coming. First time was the unknown. Pictures Emily took were perfect her energy is EVERYTHING! It's alot dealing with birth period, and Emily made me feel like my family was with me. If not better, because she's a professional. Love them! Perfection. During labor she offered so many helpful suggestions for pain management and positioning, and she also guided my husband on ways he could support me, which made the whole experience feel much more like a team effort. Her presence was reassuring and steady in one of the most vulnerable times of my life. What really stood out was her care after the birth as well. At our postpartum follow-up she brought over a sitz bath and checked in on how we were doing, which meant so much during those early days. She's warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable -- exactly the kind of person you want supporting you during such an important experience. I'm so grateful we had her by our side and would highly recommend her to any family preparing for birth.

Their tender loving care was everything I hoped would accompany a natural labor and delivery. I can't imagine how a clinical environment would have altered my birthing plan. There were no fear based pressures only encouragement and the education of choice. I would recommend Modern Midwifery to every woman creating life. If you want to trust your body to function as it's intended during child birth, learn more about the process, and have a voice with a choice; then these ladies will be a gift in your life that you will always treasure!

She helped me prepare. Her info packet was practical and asked concrete questions about pain, coping skills and post-partum issues. I felt comfortable taking her homeopathic recommendations and herbal infusions (yummy Nora tea!) Critically, she was always available for checking in. It was easy to talk with her and I sought her advice about an ongoing problem I experienced with a particular midwife. (Since she both volunteers and gives massages at ABC, she's well-known there and familiar with its routines/rhythms. This put me at ease because I was a new client.) Margaret's post-partum help with tricky nursing issues proved equally invaluable. Margaret's a skilled licensed massage therapist who specializes in Arvigo Maya abdominal work. I was bigger this time around so the last trimester was tough. Having weekly massages in my last month was such a treat. Her massages were restorative, relieved me of the constant pain and worked to center me. The birth of my 2nd son was highly unusual but through the expert knowledge and skills of Margaret and the rest of my birth team, I experienced a safe and empowered natural birth. My son was born at 10 lbs and face first, quite a rare and challenging presentation. His labor was long and slow (3 days). Once we learned his presentation, we required a transfer to the hospital. We all worked together as a team to make his birth go smoothly and safely. Throughout all of this Margaret remained calm, focused on my well-being, supportive of my decisions, patient, positive and helpful. I couldn't have had the beautiful birth that I did without the team that I had. Having Margaret as part of my birth team made for an overall positive pregnancy, birth and post-partum experience. I feel truly blessed. Thank you Margaret!
