They charged me for X-rays & exam , after they told me that I was cover by their insurance I had paid for. Then a month later, after I "always" had paid COD for service before leaving, they billed me for almost $400 and never sent records to another dentist after it had been requested twice . All this after they had to refer me to another dentist that did sedation dentistry. I will never go back there. read more

We had multiple issues with them not being conservative enough and either doing work on something that could have waited, or possibly didn't need at all (for my husband) or saying I needed thousands of dollars of work (and after seeing my previous dentist whom I trust in another state, I needed none of that work.) This office has excellent hygienists, & that is sadly all I can recommend them for. We originally had no issues when coming here for cleanings, but when in need of a root canal, they let us down severely. Myself having worked in dentistry for many years, I strongly advise anyone needing this procedure to seek out an endodontist. My wife goes to Serene to get evaluated- they suggest a temp crown, despite her ticking all the boxes for root canal therapy (profit generation at its finest). After the crown does nothing to ease her pain, she is told that their in-house general dentist, Dr. Rebecca Berg, only does root canals for them & is the same as any other endodontist. So my wife is duped into getting it done there, & returns a few days later for the procedure. Had they been clear that Dr. Berg is not a trained endodontist, she would have gone elsewhere. No rubber dam used during RC treatment, resulting in water & debris going down the throat. When flushing out the reamed canal, fluid entered the sinus cavity at the procedural site- an obvious sinus perforation. Wife said "there is something burning in my nose" & dentist "there is nothing in your nose". They raised the chair up & she started coughing because fluids drained sinus to throat. Blood from opened tooth mixed in, causing further irritation. She asked assistant if her nasal passage was punctured as could taste blood leaking down from sinuses, told "no, the dentist would be able to tell if that happened. Also, your sinuses are too far away from your teeth for that to be possible". My wife asked repeatedly before the procedure was over if sinus was punctured because it felt like it was, every reply "no". Another concerning moment was when they needed a specific size of canal file that they did not have, so they resorted to the next closest size. They had a hard time finishing procedure because tooth would not stop bleeding & continued coughing. When the torment session was finally over, assistant was walking her out & they passed her dentist in another room, speaking with a staff member. Dr. Berg's facial expression was one of fear & worry; as wife was passing by they became awkwardly silent. She had to sleep propped up for several nights because when she lay flat, blood would run down her throat, making her cough. And this was not even where the breached standard of care ended. THREE TIMES she came in to get a permanent crown- injected with anesthetic, because the staff used permanent cement instead of temp cement required cutting off of the temp crown which changed the contours of the tooth=required re-scan & re-order of crown. THREE repeat identical episodes/visits, before they finally realized they should try temporary cement! The following month, the treated tooth begins to have sensitivity to heat, a clear indicator of a failed root canal. She goes to an accredited endodontist (a real one this time) & they use a CBCT radiograph to confirm that Dr. Berg had missed a root in that tooth & left a canal untreated. They also show my wife on the x-ray where the plug Serene installed is protruding into the sinus cavity, concrete proof that when she felt her sinus being perforated it indeed was. And finally, the endodontist confirmed that my wife's sinuses were very close to her upper teeth, contrary to what she was told at Serene. Once again we pay for root canal treatment (re-treat) of the same tooth, but this time done by a specialist with the correct equipment & training. Sadly they had to drill through (ruin) the permanent crown on the tooth, which had taken 4 appointments to complete. The endodontist said it appeared that the original dentist had used a file that was bigger than the size of the canal warranted, resulting in very thin canal walls that could quite likely fracture in the future and necessitate removal of the tooth & installation of an implant. So for the rest of her life, my wife now needs to get a specialized x-ray of this tooth annually to check if the canal walls are still holding up. In summary, not only did Serene Dental Spa cause permanent detriment to their patient, they lied repeatedly; first by implying that Dr. Berg was as qualified to perform the treatment as an endodontist, secondly by the dentist/assistant denying that a sinus perforation had occurred (they ALWAYS know when it happens) & lastly that her sinuses weren't close to her maxillary teeth when they actually were very close. The final fail is they refuse to return our calls and messages, which we have periodically left over many months; they simply want to pretend the suffering & needless financial burdens endured never happened. We spent thousands of dollars on this ordeal. We are not asking for anything unreasonable, just a small reparation/refund for the harm she endured while in their care. read more

The office is beautiful and clean. The dentists are personable and explain in detail the treatment options. Doesn't make you feel pressure to go with a particular procedure. Andrew went out of his way on their day off, when the office is closed to fill down a tooth that is too high. They went above and beyond. Also, Margaret give an amazing shoulder massage when you wait for the dentist to come in. No extra charge. Definitely recommend! read more

One of my biggest fears in life is my bi-yearly visit to the dentist, it would take me several appointments and sometimes even some anxiety medications to make it to my appointment...no lie..lol!! So i just started coming here a little over two months ago to start getting some work done the last time I've been to a dentist was a little over 7 years ago, so I needed a lot of work done and having horrible wisdom tooth pain from an decaying infected wisdom tooth was the THE first clue I should go see someone about it. I chose this place Bc I recently moved into this area from Belmont and it was simply just more convenient, being a person that hates dentist with the whole drilling and needles and fingers in my mouth I was quite pleasantly surprised with how satisfied I was with the service professional they was with everything. They saw me on short noticed and was willing to take care of the painful problematic tooth right away, I didn't feel a thing and he had the wisdom tooth pulled out in like 2 mins I was in disbelief when he said he was done, I came back a few weeks later to do a cleaning and whitening then once again a week later for a deep cleaning and another wisdom tooth extraction, all in which was painless I couldn't even feel the typical needle pinch before the numbness "the reason I neglected seeing dentist for 7 years lol" I will have to say this dentistry will definitely be my dentistry for many years to come and I will be recommending it to anyone I know that needs dental work! read more

This place is straight up amazing. I have an irrational fear of going to the dentist, but these guys have laid that to rest. I starting going to Serene Dental spa based on recommendation. At the first visit, Dr. Javed was so so thorough in talking me through everything she was doing and then not only telling me, but SHOWING me the problem areas with xrays and digital pictures she took of each tooth. She was not judgemental of the condition of my teeth, but instead talked me through how we would fix the issues. We started with removing my wisdom teeth (all 4)! I was very nervous, but they were very reassuring and encouraging. Dr. Tran did a fantastic job on the surgery and I was out of there in no time. He was very gentle and I didn't feel a thing. These guys are also very personable. Its not like going to a drs office where everything is all white with that sterile-hospital feel. Its honestly like going to hang out with some friends while getting some some dental work done. Dr. Tran also followed up the evening of surgery to make sure I was ok.
