Chose this place on a whim out of a bunch of other restaurants on the same block. Located just a few minutes from Anfiteatro Romano de Merida & Teatro Romano de Merida. Service was slow. You can ask for the english menu. They had a cheap day menu that comes with a starter, entree, drink, bread, and dessert for just 12 euros.
The bread was plain with no dip or anything to spread on it.
Starter: Migas del Pastor con Huevo Frito (Shepherd's breadcrumbs with fried eggs). It was my first time eating something like that and it was a bit weird to me but also addicting. I wish the presentation looked less like scraps though.
Entree: Bocaditos de Choco Fritos con Ensalada (cuttlefish nuggets with salad). That was pretty good!
My chocolate mousse dessert was also not bad. However, don't get the ice cream because it's just the prepackaged kind with chocolate and vanilla flavor.
Starter: Salmorejo con virutas de Jamon y huevo duro (Salmorejo with ham and hard boiled eggs), which tasted like a more intense version of the gazpacho. Extremely tomato-y and sour.
Entree: Iberian barbecued meat with homemade fries (churrascao iberico con patatas Fritas caseras). The homemade fries were delish! It was a nice texture and nicely seasoned. The barbecued meat was a disappointment though. read more
