While walking around the area we came across this cool little sculpture garden. Not sure it's affiliation with caterpillars but it was a nice place to check out. From memory I don't think I've ever seen a random piece of public art at a truck stop before so it was a nice surprise.

This elegant steel tied-arch bridge was built in 1981 and opened in 1982. It carries TN Route 156…read moreover the Tennessee River, It connects South Pittsburg to New Hope though the Alabama border isn't far away. The bridge replaces a ferry that was used until the bridge was completed. A single lane of traffic in each direction with a breakdown/bicycle lane on each side with no center divider. Rivers Landing Road on the east side has a space to pull over and view the bridge. The South Pittsburg Municipal park is on the west side and includes a boat launch. It was officially dedicated on June 5, 1989 to state representative Shelby Rhinehart. There is no toll to cross the bridge. [Review 20061 overall - 416 in Tennessee - 1036 of 2023.]

The marker reads, "During 1805-08, the U.S. Government and State of Tennessee constructed the Federal-Georgia Road in order to connect Tennessee to the Atlantic seaboard. The road proceeded north from Augusta to Spring Place, Georgia, where it divided. Federal Road proceeded northeast to Tellico Blockhouse. Georgia Road proceeded northwest to the Stone's River where it connected to the road to Nashville. The Cherokee later constructed an alternate route north of Lookout Mountain." This is marker 2B-29 and it was erected by the Tennessee Historical Commission. The post has clearly seen better days and the lettering has started to fade since it was installed. It all turned out okay at the end of a quarter-mile long one-lane road that follows the Tennessee-Georgia state line to the aptly named Stateline Cemetery. Park here. There is an opening in the trees and about 100 yards into the woods on a well worn but far from level path, I reached the point I was looking for - a small marker mounted in a patch of concrete under an arbor pointing out that it's adjacent to the Paradise Pointe Resort. This is the tripoint where the borders of Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia meet. A little boring but we're talking about invisible lines that you can't see so at least there's *something* here. Some common sense tips. Stay on the path to avoid any poison ivy. There is a fallen tree that you will need to duck under. If it's rained recently, it's going to be muddy. And even for a short walk like this: never, ever hike alone - always bring a friend. There are 62 points where three states meet (and only one where four states meet https://www.yelp.com/biz/four-corners-monument-teec-nos-pos). Our Stay at "The falls at Sewanee creek" was absolutely AMAZING! What we expected was to stay in a…read moreglorified tent, detached from a big city, and hoped for a relaxing stay here. What we got was ... the absolute perfect location to spend a night above a 50ft waterfall that lullabied us to bed. A perfect storm came through in the night to maintain that REM. Then a fuller waterfall and a few dozen songbirds to wake us up in the morning. Not even temped to hit the snooze button on that! Mr.Miller's hospitality is superb. He enjoys sharing his creativity, which is impressive, and thanks to it we had a perfect glamper to stay in and have this great experience. We took our time getting up, had some coffee, and drank it on the back deck as we watched the waterfall, yes you read that right ..... waterfall is visible from the glamper, just laying in bed I can lift my head and see it. After morning, coffee we hiked down to the bottom of the falls and soaked in the beauty and the privacy of it.
