I love Sephora! I really really do! The staff are friendly and always great me when walking in. I come here alot for gifts for my friends and sometimes I am stumped on what to get my very picky friend but girls there always have unique ideas on what product to buy her. I love the make up tools. My favorite make up brand is Urban Decay and they always have their latest products in stock. Sephora has a frequent customer card. It doesn't cost anything but the more you buy the more points you accumulate. The staff here always make sure I get all my points! Today my friend and I visited this store. Right as we walked in, I saw one of the workers make a nasty face then greet us as if I did not just witness him do that. Next, as my friend and I browsed through the beauty products, we were followed to the point where we felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. To prove that we were being watched as if we were under a microscope, we walked into the total opposite corner of the store to see what happened. He continued to follow us. I assume he thought we were stealing because he came up to us and mentioned that he was in loss and prevention. All in all, this is 2017. Customers should not be judged on what they are wearing, what they look like, or how old they are. A customer is a customer and should be treated as so. read more

Really pushy customer service. I went to Sephora at the Otay Ranch Center, while visiting my parents. I understand that they weren't busy on a Saturday afternoon, but the sales associates showed lack of communication amongst the staff as one by one, literally every other minute, a different sales person came up to my mother and me and asked if we had any questions. And if that weren't annoying enough, the product samples on the floor looked unkempt, dirty, full of dust and dirt. And to top it off, a sales person accidentally bumped into me, causing me to drop my basket onto the floor. All she did was turn around and stare at me-- without an apology. This was the first and last time I shop at this Sephora location. From now on, I'll be happy driving to closer and friendlier locations in either Fashion Valley, or near my school in UTC. read more

Ok. I am a guy. Yes...I have shopped here. No not for a chick...but for me. Yes for me. I came here one time with my cousin and his fiancee when she was window shopping. She stopped in and me and my cousin ended up waiting outside...after a few minutes she calls both of us in and shows us these men's colognes they sell here. Okay whatever, we are both with a female so its technically okay for us to be in the store...we tried out some of the cologne and my cousin ended up buying some his fiancee recommended. However, I liked another particular cologne there and thought to myself I should come back next pay day to get some. So I do just that...but this time around I am the only dude in the store...and I stick out like a sore thumb because I notice all the female store associates are staring at me. Awkwaaaard. I had that don't judge me mentality the minute one of them approaches me...to my surprise she doesn't judge me, and actually compliments me that I am shopping for a cologne for myself...okay...this ain't so bad. Add to that she was sorta cute and she started chatting with me about other colognes and what the favorites are among their few male customers. At the end of the day I went with a Burberry scent, and I left feeling not so awkward due to the niceness and non-judgmental ways of their store associates (all female of course). Amazing place for guys when you are looking for really good colon . I met a lady named lizbeth and Tracy who had great customer service and gave me ally of product knowledge on the speciality of colon. She even helped my wife get good product women cleaning facial product as well. read more

I usually go to Sephora in Fashion Valley and it's always hectic. Today I met my mom at the Eastlake mall for lunch and I stopped in to grab some mascara for a blog post I'm researching (Beauty-Authority.com) and CHRISTINA B. went above and beyond helping me, even though I made it clear I only needed a few travel sizes for my article. She even helped me get a free travel case and my birthday present, which luckily for me contained a trial size mascara!! I would drive down here again instead of Fashion Valley just to come back to this store. Everyone was friendly and not in the pushy-I-need-to-upsell-to-keep-my-job kind of way. 5 stars!! read more

Not impressed with the service I received today. I'm a VIB member of Sephora and love the products that Sephora sells, however, my shopping experience today was not what I expected. I went in to buy gifts and the store is advertising Giftopia, where they give you boxes for your gifts and that is not the case, they ran out of boxes and when I asked if they were going to get more they said no, very poor planning plus I was at the store for over an hour and I didn't get help from anyone....OH but when I looked for something in one of the drawers I was immediately approached by the manager and she asked me to let her know if I needed them to look in the drawers for me....just not friendly, helpful and definitely not trying to offer good customer service. read more

Super friendly, SUPER helpful staff here! They seriously go above and beyond my expectations for color matching and samples! There's a pretty decent amount of stuff in here, but it is a bit small so don't expect the full offering of Sephora (however if there's something they're missing, they'll order it for you with free shipping). read more

My experience with Sephora at Otay Ranch was exceptional. Alyssa is an incredibly gifted makeup artist and helped me to no end. I took in a picture and she not only mastered it, but improved on it. I will use her and her services again and again. She's an asset to the store. read more

Got some very helpful assistance in selecting different types of men's fragrance from staff at this Sephora. I don't always wear a Eau de Toilette fragrance, but when i did, my go to one was Jean Paul Gaultier- Le Male, its a classic pick that complements my PH that I've worn the past few years, I've also used Armani Code and Acqua De Gio, but I have gotten tired of it's commonality and wanted to mix it up and try different types of men's fragrances. Bleu de Chanel, Dior Homme, Jimmy Choo Man, Issey Miyake L'Eau d' Issey Homme, Tom Ford, Viktor and Rolf Spice bomb weren't that good for me. Sau'vage Dior, was close but overall I decided to settle on Dolce and Gabbana-The One and Yves Saint Laurent-La Nuit De'L Homme, they had some great gift sets at decent prices and these were by far my TWO FAVORITES. My only hope was if they carried Carolina Herrera- CH Man. which probably will be my next grab. here's to smelling good!! read more

Otay ranch Sephora will always be my favorite. A lot of girls that used to work there got transferred out, however, the service is always great. I have gone to other locations where girls are snobby, and get annoyed if you asked them a question... At this location, I always, always get helped, even in the busiest of times. read more

Dropped in to pick up my birthday goodies. As a beauty insider, you receive an email around your birthday. You must pick up within your birthday month. This year the gift is a pair of lip pencils; one velvet matte in Cruella and one satin rose pink. At checkout, they ring a bell, and the whole store yells out "happy birthday"! My husband was not looking for anything, but a helpful sales girl showed him shaving creams and lotions she thought might interest him. The sales associate was so good about explaining products and offering samples. She was extremely knowledgable and helpful to my husband. He may become a beauty insider as well. LOL read more

I have to say that I prefer this location over fashion valley any day. There isn't much of a crowd to squeeze through. But the staff here do not make themselves available to help. You typically have to request to be helped. Even when it's 11am & I'm the only person in there. They're pretty good about having products in stock. read more

I am going to have to give this location 5 stars. I went into the store to exchange something I ordered from sephora.com. I expected it to be a pain in the a$$ but it was actually super easy. The associate who helped me was very attentive and helped my find a really cool Urban Decay shadow set that fit my needs perfectly. "Bree" was really helpful and sweet and I trust her advice because her make-up looked PERFECT unlike another associate, who looked like a drag queen. Love coming here because they pretty much always have everything in stock and keep the store organized and clean. They even keep the disposable testing pads, mascara brushes, eyeshadow brushes, etc stocked all the time. It's one of the first stores you come across when you enter the mall and the traffic in this store is constantly moving so it's never crowded. They have events here and are more than happy to do your makeup or recommend products to you that surprisingly are spot-on at filling your needs. The staff are constantly asking if you need help and are everywhere, even always going to the registers to make sure there are plenty of cashiers when it gets relatively busy. read more

I had a great experience at this sephora - the manager was super nice and patient and offered me a ton of different options. I got the Benefit Hello Flawless and a kit from Dr. Brandt with the Pores no More. I ended up returning the Benefit Hello Flawless, because HSN was having a special where you get the powder, blush and mascara for $2 more than the powder alone. Returning was super easy. read more

So yeah, I'm a VIB member here. That should tell you how often I go. Lol. Love love LOVE this Sephora. They're always so nice and helpful, and they always have what I'm looking for. It's very rare when they don't have something that I need, and if they don't, they are quick to look it up at another Sephora to see if they have it. They have two guys that work here (Mattie is my fave!), and I gotta be honest, they are the BEST at what they do. Everything they have recommended to me for my skin type has been right on. They don't try to sell you the most expensive item, they try to sell you what they KNOW is going to work for your skin. They really and truly care, as sappy as that sounds, but they do. They're craze amaze. And I gotta mention this incident....last year during Christmas my hubby was with me at the mall and I told him I had to run into Sephora real quick to get my Mom some perfume. That part was true, but I also wanted to sneak in there and buy him a cologne he'd been wanting. He said he'd be next door at the Apple Store. Perfect, gives me a chance to get his cologne without him knowing. Well of course the second I put his cologne in my basket, in walks hubby looking for me. I quickly nabbed a salesperson and handed her the cologne and said, "Can I meet you in the back and pay for this separately? My hubby just walked in and I don't want him to see this." She had one of those handheld credit card devices where I could pay for the item away from the counter registers. She was more than happy to do that for me. I went up to hubby and handed him my Mom's perfume and said, "Can you wait in line to pay for this, I'm going to look for my face wash in the back." So he waited in line as I went in the back of the store by the face washes and paid for the cologne and threw it in my purse without him knowing. It was awesome. I have shopped at several Sephoras for years and this is by far my favorite. Today I had amazing customer service, even better than usual. Remi was so helpful and took so much time making sure I had exactly what I needed. She didn't try to oversell anything like some Sephora representatives have at other stores. I love that I can get lots of different brands in one place and I am always able to get a sample to try. I also love the great little goodies by the checkout. This Sephora doesn't seem to keep re-stock very quickly once items run out. I was told to come back for a product in a week. I came back in 2 weeks and they still didn't have it. Both times I made large purchases & they told me they had no gifts for me to buy with my accumulated points! I'm thinking there isn't any real perk to being VIP status. This was my first time coming to this Sephora and I had an awesome experience with an artist, Rahkel! She helped me find the perfect foundation, which I love (Tarte ROTF) and a couple of other items!! She was very kind, passionate, and funny. We also connected on a personal level about the passing of our mothers , she made me feel as if we knew eachother, such a nice girl with beautiful makeup !
