This place is ok, just another Sephora in a mall. The employees are helpful but usually busy, so you have to actually go after them if you need to be color-matched to a certain foundation, find a certain perfume etc. It's smaller than the Downtown Disney one and it's always so dark it seems (reminds me of Hollister that way). It's also always busy (especially Makeup Forever and NARS aisles) so you're constantly elbowing other women to get to products you want. However, I will continue going here instead of Downtown Disney because this store is right by Forever 21. read more

This Sephora gets super busy and sometimes it's hard to get help but my review is specifically for Brina who did my make-up the other day. First she was so nice and easily helped set up my appointment and when I got my make up done she did it SO good!! I'm very particular with my eye brows as well as my bronzing and eyeshadow and somehow everything she did looked amazing. She also gave me a lot of helpful tips and tricks and recommended products I was familiar with as well as some I had no idea about. I'm a really big fan of Sephora, but this location was a nightmare. It was completely disorganized and poorly stocked. Many samples were missing or covered in makeup. The employees I spoke to were neither informative nor helpful. They did not seem to know much about the Kat Von D line at all, and could not help me locate a product. I tried looking for the lipstick myself and security told me to stop, then proceeded to followed me around for afterwards. I am never returning to this location. Gross. read more

I love Sephora I always know what I want. I end up getting more than I came for. Lately they have been running out of items. Which is a huge inconvenience on my part as well as others I'm sure. I'm disappointed in the sales department. They used to be knowledgeable in the products seems some don't know what brands I'm talking about. I have to find another available associate. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This store has always been my "IT" spot for all my beauty needs. It's my toy store. Before I ever buy anything new I always get samples and information from the consultants first. The consultants always take their time with u and listen to what u really need, I have never had anyone trying and make me buy anything I don't need. My last big purchase was my Clarisonic face cleaner. I loved the help they gave me and instructions on how to use it along with tricks and tips. Tip: Before u buy anything and it is not sealed or it comes in a box always take a sec and make sure that u check it to make sure that it hasn't been used or put in the wrong box. They do offer samples, however sometimes customers who are desperate to try a product that doesn't have a sample will get into a brand new one and screw it all up. LOL! I always pic new from the drawer or make sure what I buy uses safety seals such as lipsticks ,eyeliners etc. If u get a chance to stop in and take it all in, do it, it will be worth your time. Sephora customer service is very different at every location. The Brea mall location is luckily not the worst I have ever experienced. (*Ahem, Santa Ana). Most of the time the employees look sort of bored. The smiles they give when they approach you are fleeting. One second smiles and then a stone cold mug folllows once they've stopped making eye contact with customers. But they are still very helpful! I just purchased a product and was helped by a very nice young lady named Imani. She even helped me out with a new sephora card because my other one broke, and some samples that will keep me coming back. Brina was extremely considerate, attentive of my skin concerns, and was able to give me a look that felt adventurous without overwhelming me (considering I gave little to no direction/ info other than that night's venue.) For background, I know very little about makeup, let alone know what and how to apply it. The session flew by quickly. Spent $225 on a Clarisonic Plus system, only to get it home and find that it had been USED! It was obviously a return. Am I that naive that I didnt realize that Sephora actually restocks their returned products??!! GROSS! and unsanitary. Also, the staff at this location could use some customer service training. It took about 10 mintues to get someone to help me...begrudgingly at that! The store was not even busy, so go figure. They are all a bunch of lazy biatches at this location. My advice: check your package thoroughly before leaving the store as I failed to notice the seal was broken...or just order online and save the grief. Went in shortly after the mall opened hoping to get some assistance with concealer. Only one salesperson visible. Shortly thereafter quite a few salespeople emerged from the back of the store (staff meeting???). The store got a bit busier but I was never approached by anyone. A group of about 8 pre-teens were having a great time putting on the lipstickss, using the mascaras and eyelash curlers, etc. directly from the samples. Grossed me out. Add that to being totally ignored and I left. Spent my money at Nordstom. Will not go back there. Ugh. read more

My boyfriend and I got what we needed and we were in and out of the store in a heartbeat to my boyfriend's relief since he just got off of work, and Sephora isn't his favorite place to be at after work either. This location used to be my go-to Sephora. It has become too congested with not much walking room anymore because they're trying to squeeze as many shelves/aisles as possible. I just felt very claustrophobic. It's very hard to find a sales associate to ask for help, they're always too busy. Also they have a security guard that I understand is just trying to do his job/keep his job, but please...give me some personal space and make it less obvious that you think everyone in the store is a shoplifter. I'll stick to the Sephora at South Coast, the sales associates actually come up to you and ask if they can help you plus there's walking room. read more

I took my 17 year old daughter to get the makeup deluxe: the full face makeover which is free with a $50 purchase for her winter formal dance. I was happy with the makeup but at the end of the session the lady said the eyelashes were $26. I asked my daughter if she knew they were an extra charge and the makeup artist (I didn't get her name but she had long black hair) said, "Remember I told you they were $26?" My daughter said she was never told they were extra and would not have gotten them if that was the case. She said, "She just asked me if I wanted eyelashes and gave me 2 options." I was going to get some Chanel perfume which was $80 but decided to just purchase the $50 worth since I was unhappy the extra charges were not disclosed properly. She had a portable device to charge me and when I said I wanted to look around for some stuff she said, " I'm gonna ring you up right now what else did you want?" They obviously want to sell as much as possible but I was not happy with anything she recommended. Great improvement over the past 2 years. All it took was 2-3 complains to Sephora's Corporate. lol. So on my last review, I gave it 2 stars. But recently. I came in about 5-10 times in the past 6 months, and I was greeted and was helped. I got color matched and got a few samples to test out some foundations that I was interested. Just to rule out what didnt work for my skin and what worked well; after all, we're paying $30-40 per foundation right? But, huge improvement in customer service. I think it's under new management? I have to agree with the previous reviews, that a male worker (skinnier one) gets moody a lot with the customers/co workers. Just my observation. read more

Every red-blooded woman's dream store. Seriously. It is pricey but worth the extra cash. The employees are always very helpful and offer great tips. I will admit that just walking into this place makes my day. This is the closest Sephora to my house and I honestly don't mind getting stuck in rush hour traffic just to purchase a tube of mascara (Lancome=love) or the latest fragrance. oh hey, i actually had a pleasant experience here ! :] i went a couple days ago and NUMEROUS sales associates asked me if they could help my friend and i with anything. even though we declined, one of the girls double-checked later on. that was nice. when we did need help, a young man was right on it ! leading us to exactly what we were looking for and opening up a new package for us to use as a "try me" sampler. ive once made a RETURN here. USED eyeshadow ((that i myself used)). i didnt like how the color looked on me. i was able to make the return. painless; no questions asked. they said "no problem !" and were sorry to hear i didnt love it. they are usually speedy during the checkout. good service experiences and are always accommodating when i misplaced my beauty insider card. read more

This review is for NESSA! I went in to have my foundation color matched and she went above and beyond customer service. She asked what I was looking for, concerns, etc. I told her I was looking to be matched, but was getting my makeup done another day so I wouldn't be buying that day. This didn't deter her at all. She took me right over to the foundation I was matched to and tried just a sample on me. PERFECT match! She then finished the application so I had a beautiful foundation application. I had my appt. this morning with a MAU. When I left I wasn't completely sold on my look. (I really don't know anything about makeup) my friend said I looked beautiful, but it just didn't feel right. I felt dry and like the makeup showed my flaws rather then covered them up. As I was leaving, the MAU said I should find a lip color that I can have with me all day. So I grabbed my mom and we went to the mall! We ended up a Sephora.. and as I was waiting to be helped, another MAU came and asked me if I had just gotten my makeup done and I said "yes, it was a trial for a potential wedding MAU." She told me I looked beautiful, but could she make a suggestion? Do you remember what the MAU used for foundation? I said I didn't know. She continued to tell me that she felt the color was too light for me and that that foundation was starting to separate meaning I needed a more hydrating foundation. I said thank you, then my name was called. Long story short, Iaysha said pretty much the same thing about my foundation along with some other things. Then she competed redid my makeup. I am SO grateful I walked into that store today! I left feeling beautiful and dewy and glowy. A better version of me! Iaysha was knowledgeable and easy going and made me feel comfortable in the chair. She definitely knew what she was doing and gave me some great tips for my wedding day! Not a huge fan of the customer service at this location. I usually come in during weekdays and it's usually not so busy. Maybe that's why most of the workers seem blah. Not going to sugarcoat anything: if you want advice or need help applying makeup, go to one of the younger girls who has their makeup looking right. The older staff isn't very useful. Even the younger ones don't always seem too passionate about trying to help u but hey, at least they know more about the products. When I used to go to sephora, the employees would help me and would offer to try the makeup on my face. Now if I want help on applying, their blank faces make me wonder if they're even listening. The pros to this location is that it's a pretty good size and has lots of stock. Wish there was a more personalized experience though read more
