This place is slimier than a politician dipped in Vaseline. They are obstructive, unprofessional and will do anything to keep from giving you a dime.
One of the bad drivers that they insured pulled out of a parking spot without looking, right into my car and that is when the nonsense started. Because it happened in a parking lot we were unable to get the police to show up to make a report. Because there was no police report they arbitrarily threw a "10% fault" on me so that they didn't have to pay me everything I was owed. Spoke to my insurance company and the police and they all agreed "the driver is 100% at fault". Escalated and got shot down each time. They claimed "your insurance company would do that for you" basically stating that all insurance companies will lie and steal.
They cut the partial check (90% and they talked the shop into cutting corners to lower the estimate) for the damages I was able to get an estimate for (outside damage only) and I had to use it just to get the car repaired enough to safely drive. The shop called me stating there was significant damage inside the engine compartment and underneath as well. I contacted Sentry asking what they needed and Monica stated to me "just submit the added damages, there almost always are". So that is what I did, I sent the invoice for work through the claims process. A month and multiple requests for a status later they come back to me "we need pictures of the added damage". I told them that I wasn't at the shop, the shop saw that the damage was related to the impact because stuff like that is OBVIOUS. They asked if the parts were still at the shop. A MONTH later? Does it seem to anyone else that the best way for them to NOT pay the damage would be to ignore it until they are sure the parts are long gone? If they had told me at the beginning when I notified them of the added damage, I would have taken a taxi to the shop with a video camera. Even then they would have required me to prove somehow that the damage was related to the accident I am sure.
I told them at the start, the car started pulling hard to the left after the impact. Nope, needed pictures to support the alignment issue. How can you take a picture of an alignment issue?
I dealt with 4 different people and 3 of them acted like complete jerks just because I wanted to be made whole.
The NAIC needs to take a long, hard look at these people which is why I am reporting them. They are criminals insuring people who can't get insurance anywhere else with good reason and screwing people out of their hard earned money to keep them afloat. Even now my car is drivable but the claim money is long gone from just getting it to that point, no cosmetic damage could be repaired with the garbage reimbursement they provided. read more
