It was a rainy day. But Durbuy is so charming it didn't matter. Castles and old towns look even better on grey and foggy days anyways. Adds to the atmosphere.
After checking out the village and a very good lunch we felt like walking. This trail here starts right below the castle along the southern bank of the river L'Ourthe.
It did rain for a few days, so parts of the trail were quite muddy and slippery. Bring some good shoes in this case.
It's a loop trail, but we only did the river section. Very easy, flat and free of traffic. Apart from the occasional biker. Our Bulldog enjoyed it as well.
Nice views of the river and valley and from a bridge further west you get a nice look of the castle.
A very nice walk in a wonderful village. We enjoyed it. read more
