This isn't something I ever would have considered earlier in my life--not for any particular reason, I just wouldn't have done it. However, for the past four months, I have been working with Dennis Bueso, MA, RD (Clinical/Sports Dietitian), and the experience has been nothing like I expected. Being very overweight, I anticipated someone taking charge of the conversation and lecturing me on what I 'better' start doing. I think TV gave me a twisted idea of how these things go. Thankfully, it hasn't been like that at all. Our conversations are excellent and open. Mr. Bueso is incredibly 'chill' and immediately sets you at ease; it feels like a normal, back-and-forth conversation between two people. He is great at following up and is just a genuinely easy person to talk to. Since starting, I've seen amazing results. For those who know what A1C is, mine had been double what it should be for over five years. In just four months, I've brought it down to exactly where it's supposed to be. I give myself credit for controlling my diet, but Dennis has been instrumental in helping me understand what to watch and work on. In addition to the blood work, I've lost over 30 pounds in that same timeframe. I definitely want to give props and thanks to Mr. Bueso. If your doctor has recommended a dietitian, just do it. I worried about how it would go, but those worries were unnecessary. It has been a great experience. They…read more& the new Brock Cancer Center are located on the southeast corner of Virginia Beach Boulevard & Kempsville Road. Both share a large parking garage. Entrance with a traffic light is located both on Virginia Beach Boulevard, which the buildings face, & Kempsville Road. The location is also easily accessible from I-264. The handicapped parking is extremely convenient & plentiful at the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. The spaces face the entrance & continues around each side of the building. I've never had to park in the spaces that require a short walk. A covered circular drive thru is a convenient drop off point at the main entrance. No valet parking is available. I've had therapy at Sentara Hand Therapy & Sentara Therapy Center- Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. I've had MRI's at the Advanced Imaging Center. My Shoulder & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon does outpatient surgery in the building. But my recent Elbow Surgery, although outpatient, was scheduled at the hospital itself. The practice requires anyone who has a Cardiologist to have surgery at the hospital, where emergency personnel are more easily accessible. My experience with both therapy & the MRIs has been excellent. The equipment & facility is state of the art in this excellent sparkling clean Medical Center. Technology is sophisticated, extending as far as doors being opened by a sensor activated by the wave of a palm. There are also hand sanitizer stations in plentiful supply in the building. Fast forward to Sept 9, 2025 my benefits have been canceled because of a IME report he sent on April 15, 2025, which he hasn't seen me since or reviewed my MRI that I had done in June. I explained this to the workmen comp agency, they don't want to hear anything that I have to say. I had to obtain a lawyer to get my benefits restored in as of right now, I have no income.

Picked this place due to high rating…read more Gave me last appointment of day for young daughter and you expect to be late going in. Staff should be used to running late too; it's a doctors office. They were not. Got into an exam room 45min after scheduled appointment time. First nurse wanted my pharmacy. I started looking up address and she quickly said just give me the road. Like I was impeding on her time after I was waiting an hour (45min plus being there 15min before appt.). What do you think would happen if I just said Route 17. You know my scripts aren't going to the one Walgreens I want. She's picking one of the other 3 on the road. Shortly thereafter got in for X-rays. That X-ray tech was pleasant and only bright spot of the visit. Finally saw Dr. Aldrich 1:15 after my scheduled appointment. He tried his best not to rush but I can tell he was over seeing patients that day. Was short. Hard to understand. He said to get MRI and if nothing is found otherwise we'll do therapy. Hate sports medicine doctors falling back to therapy if they can't figure out the problem in the first visit. Anyway, he never even asked if I had questions and was out the door while finishing his last sentence. Yes I did have questions. Got none answered. Told to wait in room. Was expecting him to come back so not a huge deal. Instead an older nurse with short gray curly hair came back instead. Barged in saying I need to tell her where to send MRI script. I am new to area and not used to the Drs office sending the script to a place as opposed to the patient getting a script in hand. She just glared and gave me eyes as I scrambled to see if I could find a place associated with my PCP, took my insurance, was close to my home, and not a hospital where sick people are - perhaps an imaging center. She was impatient and didn't explain anything. To the point my young child said something to me after. I just gave a nearby hospital that she said was good and hoped for the best. It's Hampton Roads. It's not like the population doesn't turnover frequently. Then as we left the exam room, she turns to her co-workers and said angrily the guy took 10minutes to figure out where to go for a MRI. B, it was 5 and I didn't even get to pick. It's 5:30 at this point. Been there almost 2 hours. Saw staff for a total of 10 minutes tops and she's complaining I'm taking to long. All because she wanted to go home. Walked to checkout, lights off, staff lined up at door waiting for me to leave. Got no questions answered, no needed doctors note, no documentation of any kind that I was even there. Just got to sit there for 2 hours and be insulted. Cherry on top. After more than a week and not hearing anything we finally reached out to the hospital bc this office doesn't return calls. Find out the hospital doesn't do MRIs for children that young. So this doctor treats children but doesn't know that Sentera won't do MRIs for children of a certain age??? Decided to start over. Spent a month and several calls to get this doctors staff to provide the X-rays before I could go elsewhere so I don't get hit again by insurance. At the end of the day, I'm out copay, 2 hours time plus time on calls with office & hospital, a second trip to Williamsburg (gas and 45 more minutes) to finally get X-ray images and worst of all my child's treatment delayed 2 months. Plus the new doctor could see the issue in the X-ray that this first office did not. (Though used MRI to confirm) What an embarrassment.

Dr Sandra Glasson has worked with various Olympic Sports Teams such as the Women's Field Hockey team, Women's Basketball team, Women's Gold Medal Soccer team, as well as local teams such as various High Schools, Virginia Rush Soccer team, Elizabeth City State University basketball team, and Old Dominion University Wrestling team. After surgery Dr Sandra Glasson will go over and explain your pics of the surgery and show you the before and after pics, and show you any other findings if any that she saw. It is great to actually see what it looked like before and to see the work Dr. Glasson has done. Now the interesting part is that Physical Therapy with Quanita, Caroline, Mac, Jan, Gerald, and Meghan to name a few. Oh yes this great team that pushes you to better yourself and they rotate to bring you that good pain !!!!!! They all take part and work together to build your strength back up to a speedy healthy recovery !!! A great doctor and a great team make for a pleasant and successful visit.

I waited a month to get an appointment and then after arrival I waited over an hour to see the doctor only to find that she could not have been more disinterested in understanding the problem or potential cause. She prescribed cortisone shots even though I made it clear that I had been managing the pain at home for the last 10+ years and wanted to know the root cause and treat that. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and asked again if the cortisone shots would treat the cause, not just the pain, and she said "oh, I don't know, maybe." I was so shocked I didn't even know what to say so I didn't push any further. Beyond that, her team must not have sent over the referral for the cortisone shots because I never received the call to schedule that they told me to expect.

First thing is it was a bit hard to find because the trees cover the sign but it's super close to the freeway exit. Not a big deal. Everything so far was very good. The desk staff are decent but not overly personal. The wait room and office are comfortable and clean including the bathroom. The wait time for the dentist was not long. The dentist was very nice, gentle and fast, I barely felt his anesthesia shots. The dental assistants were very compassionate and sweet. It was very hard to get an initial appointment, and I waited a long time to get in. That being said, both my 23-year-old son and I had good experiences. So far zero complaints. Everything including my request to avoid bpa was very respected. The appointment ladies in the back are very polite and helpful. I will for sure return.

Sadly, over the past two years customer service for the adults in our household has declined significantly. I'm going share as 4 stars, at this point it's really closer to 3 1/2 but they don't give you an option for that, which I'm torn since they do take great care of my children. Let's start with the positives: The hygienist and Doctor who work with our children are wonderful. They are gentle, kind, and patient. They have never pushed unnecessary treatments. They simply do their cleanings, make observations, and offer suggestions. Never had an issue with how our kids are treated. They even allow you to sit in the room with them. This part of their practice has always been excellent. The wait time once you arrive and check in is never long, I don't believe we've ever waited more than 10 minutes to be seen except one time when someone called out so they were short staffed. The office is also very clean. However, our experience as adults has been very frustrating. My husband was essentially "Ghosted" as a patient. He was contacted about moving his appointment earlier, which he agreed to only if his original appointment could remain in case he couldn't make it ( He was traveling for work that week). They canceled his original appointment anyways, and then later canceled another appointment because insurance was "asking questions" but no one ever followed back up with him like they said they would. In the end they dictated his schedule instead of working with it, and he never got his mouth completed after starting a deep cleaning. Recently they repeatedly kept contacting me during work hours asking for insurance information even though I had told them I did not have it on hand and would send it as soon as I could that day. The constant texts during the workday feel excessive and stressful. Another limitation is pain management, they only offer injections for numbing. If you don't numb well with needles like me they can't accommodate you. They won't even do my teeth cleanings until one tooth issue is resolved elsewhere. Scheduling is also a bit difficult, appointments are typically booked close to a year out, and although we tried to switch to their newer location, they told me they are still working on insurance coverage there so we're stuck at this office. Today was another example of the disorganization. We had a 2pm appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. The staff was in a meeting and kept all patients waiting outside until exactly 2PM. As more and more patients arrived for their appointments they eventually put a sign on the door telling people to return at 1PM even though it was already past that and they still weren't available until 2. It was confusing and frustrating especially for those who arrive on time and early. During cleanings you won't see the dentist for more than 5 minutes unless you have specific concerns. Overall, this used to be a 5-star office for us. Now it feels very inconsistent. Excellent for children so far.
