Thank you Dr Gelman!…read more I believe some people are here on earth to make a difference in people's lives, Dr Gelman at IVFMD (Cooper City) is one of them. I was with a previous Specialist and had the worst experience of my life. I had a very painful and traumatic HSG. I was told aggressively that if I wanted to get pregnant, I needed 2 different types of surgeries and straight to IVF. I felt defeated, scared and gave me extreme anxieties. I listened to my gut and switched to a different Specialist. I'm so happy I switched to Dr Gelman, I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have found him. The first day I met him I knew he would be the right Doctor for me. He's very calm, compassionate, also direct when he needs to. I found him very caring, funny & kind. He listened to all my concerns and anxieties, answered all of our long lists of questions. His positive energy eased all my anxieties. He recommended holistic approach: healthy diet, exercise, supplements, accupuncture, yoga, stretching and to keep my stress level low. I did them all, what an amazing self care regiment that all women should practice! His recommendations totally work! Trust in him, trust the process, trust yourself. He was very thorough with all the bloodwork & tests. He was honest that my ovarian reserve were low and percentage of success were lower with IUI but remains hopeful and he said to keep moving forward. He performed an SIS which he confirmed uterine polyps. He then recommended surgery, then 2 rounds of IUI, if IUI didn't work then IVF. Turns out, I didn't need IVF. I had surgery in January. First round of IUI in February, Second round of IUI in March. By April we are pregnant! Physically and mentally, it was all taking a toll on me. I'm so grateful to have Dr Gelman and his team by my side. During covid I had to do most appointments by myself. The nurses and the team at IVFMD Cooper City are so kind especially Mica who held my hand during SIS and made me comfortable every visits. Darlene the phlebotomist always smiling and positive. Nurses: Joselyn who made us laugh during IUI, Jennifer who delivered the pregnancy news to us. Leslie from Boca who was at the Cooper City office on a weekend to do my IUI, she said she would get us pregnant :) and she did! Dr Wood who did my surgery perfectly! She was very thorough and removed all the polyps, short and quick recovery post operation. She said the reason why I couldn't get pregnant is because the polyps were in the way, preventing implantation. The team of billing are great, so thorough. They explained everything. Honest with pricing, billing, provides clear itemized statements. They handled our insurance perfectly. We never had any issues from our insurance, everything was covered. They're so on point! I highly recommend Dr Gelman and his entire team at IVFMD in Cooper City. I am beyond grateful and thankful for the highest level of care and compassion, organization and thoroughness. We were sad to leave his care. What an "A" Team! They are our lucky stars!

He was always open to listening to everything I had researched about. He was sympathetic, empathetic and a great friend throughout this process. It touched our hearts that he came to the clinic on his day off to make sure he would do the transfer. We do not miss all the injections and medicines, but we definitely miss seeing him. We cannot wait to visit him when our little bundle of joy is here.

Disappointed by Billing Practices and Lack of Accountability…read moreI wish I could give NEGATIVE STARS. They are a corporation out for money, they don't care of patients. Even my acupuncturist that works with them said they used to care about patients and since they expanded the only care about money. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this fertility clinic, primarily due to their billing practices and lack of communication regarding insurance coverage. I underwent three IUIs and one medicated treatment cycle with this clinic. My first IUI cycle was covered by insurance without issue. However, for the subsequent cycles, the office began submitting diagnosis codes that did not align with my actual medical situation. As a result, my insurance denied coverage -- despite previously approving treatment. Even more concerning, required prior authorizations were not obtained when they should have been. This directly impacted my insurance coverage. Instead of correcting the issue or taking accountability, the clinic is now attempting to charge me self-pay rates for treatments that should have been covered. I am even being threatened with collections. Fertility treatment is already emotionally and financially overwhelming. Patients trust clinics not only with their health but also with proper insurance handling. Unfortunately, my experience felt more focused on revenue than patient advocacy or transparency. I strongly recommend that anyone considering treatment here double- and triple-check insurance authorizations themselves and document everything. I wish I had known to be more proactive. Very disappointing experience.

I've had several interactions with Dr. Wood throughout the years. I will say she's professional; however, her delivery is not always the best. Nonetheless, I prefer professionalism over delivery. Ultrasounds for Dr. Woods are conducted by techs or Nurses. Therefore, if you have any medical questions you want to ask during the procedure she won't be in the room. There is no real direct contact with Dr. Woods, unless it's during your consultation and after labs are conducted to discuss results and a treatment plan. I didn't complete the trratment with the practice so I can't say how the interactions are with Dr. Woods after that point. However, I believe it's sparse and few. You may see her only again on the day of retrieval. The exam rooms are not the cleanest. I've seen dust throughout. Appointment wait times at IVFMD are ridiculous. Be prepared for extended wait times to be seen. I've waited over 1 hour to be called once and I was on time for my appointment. The clinic prematurely demands payment for services. I didn't even have my medications or obtained approval from Progny to start treatment. Yet they requested payment for Zymot. I also had ultrasound and lab tests, I believed that could've been billed through Progny. When I questioned check out about it they said Progny only covers treatment and the services provided were not treatment. I later found out through Progny that the services would've been covered if they utilized the appropriate billing codes. Long story short, my primary health insurance covered the diagnostic testing I paid for. The clinic processed a refund that took 3 months for me to receive via check. If you paid with a debit/credit card or cash, they will not refund you via the same payment method you provided. On a good note, the practice does offer, monthly IVF raffles to help those in need which is a great thing. They are great at communicating with patients promptly. They can call you if you request with no problem. The IVF Coordinator I was assigned was great. In conclusion, if you're looking for a practice where you do not feel like you're just another number in a factory, want more personalized services, a clean facility, the best treatment plan based on your circumstances and advance onsite laboratory services; IVFMD may not be for you.

I feel like I know him better than most patients since I've seen him multiple times for pain in the right side of my uterus. While a patient here, I was treated for endometritis, underwent a culture, and then subsequently got diagnosed with Ebstein- Barr Virus (EBV). I have been ill now for a year, with my IGG nuclear and IGM levels consistently rising. Approximately seven months ago, I asked to be seen for the consistent pain I was having. I also asked to be signed off on so I could see another provider here, as I felt I wasn't being taken seriously. For over a month, my portal questions were never answered. High monocyte levels are associated with cancer and autoimmune diseases and can be caused by infections such as endometriosis. A laparoscopy can lower monocyte counts. Due to these factors, surgery sounded like a great option. During my consultation, Dr. Gualtieri was standoffish and primarily glared at me. He stated he doesn't feel comfortable performing a laparoscopy, since he is out of practice. Although I arrived in pain, he would not evaluate me or order me an ultrasound. As I replied kindly to a nurse while leaving, I noticed Dr. Gualtieri smirked. My heart sank, and I wasn't sure if I could ever bring myself to return. Since my last visit, Dr. Gualtieri called me claiming he wasn't angry with me, only himself for not being able to help me. He promised to ask his colleagues whom they would recommend for laparoscopic surgery, but he never did. In addition, he agreed to let me see another practitioner here but never followed through. Justine recently called me to follow up and asked me to remind Dr. Gualtieri during my next appointment for referrals. I recently selected to reschedule my appointment through the online link emailed to me. My request was successfully submitted, yet I never received a return call. When I called back, Donna informed me she couldn't reschedule me. Each time I called, I was informed Heather was in a meeting and would return my calls. She never did. Approximately a week later, I received a letter from Dr. Gualtieri stating that he and his partners would not be providing me with IVF care, signed by everyone. He never gave a reason for dismissing me; however, I know the decision can't be based on cancellations since I've always cancelled at least forty-eight hours in advance. Dr. Gualtieri went from being kind and helpful to indifferent. Over time, I realized his demeanor was inconsistent and I never knew what to expect. When I began to be treated disrespectfully, I remembered the times he seemed so caring and thought things would change. Furthermore, I trusted him and went through a lot here. I'm close to the staff, as I've known everyone here for the past seventeen years. For these reasons, although I was treated inappropriately I didn't want to come forward. Now, I have nothing left to lose as Dr. Gualtieri shunned me from the entire practice. I tried my best to build the same relationship I had with Dr. Maxson, which was based on mutual trust and respect. He demonstrated by example that I deserve a forthright, understanding, and considerate doctor. I've always planned to have another baby, yet this is impossible if I remain ill. Dr. Gualtieri consistently told me he wanted to help me with IVF, yet he never attempted to refer me to someone who could potentially help me get better and to reach out to his colleagues for advice. Instead, after being his patient for all this time, he gave up on me. It's ironic that Dr. Gualtieri dropped me now that I'm ill, as my main concern is having a future with the family I already have. My experience here has been gut-wrenching, and I don't want my story to become someone else's.

We are so pleased with this office. Everything went as planned and we did conceive the first time. Dr Wood was honest and straight forward. Which we like so there isn't any false hope. No one there seems to care about the patient's experience or health. I went the first time many years ago and had a decent experience but this place has gone downhill quickly. To the point I'm thinking of testing my son DNA to ensure that the sperm I gave them was handled properly. I provided this office with my insurance information 3 times and still received a bill 3 months later with a past due amount. They were also so unprofessional as to throw away my blood sample without my authorization because they didn't get my payment at the end of the visit. Are things so bad they cannot process a $15 blood test and bill me for it later or run it through the insurance I had provided them 3, actually 4 times if you count the copy I gave them while making my appointment, oh make that 5 as my husband also gave him his insurance information. I took this issue up with their management to only get more frustrated. I suggest taking the reviews to heart and going elsewhere. These people are horrible!!!
