On the occasions that I catch the 45 or 47 bus to and from the City Centre, I get on and off just outside this shop so I pop in quite often. When I'm making the journey into the City Centre it's usually to buy a box of matches with a £10 note so I can get change for the bus, so I bet the bloke who owns the shop is always glad to see me!
Aside from being a useful place to get change for the bus, this is also a fairly decent newsagents that carries pretty much what you'd expect. Milk, papers, tobacco, tinned goods, and the like, so it's handy when I get off the bus from town and realise I need a few things for home before I trudge up the hill. Despite the newsagent tag it doesn't carry that broad a selection of magazines, so if you want something other than a Chat, Hello or Bella, you're better off using the Co-Op just up the road. read more
