It was a clean break and the friend who recommended me to the shop, had just got his Toro Rig fixed with the same problem; a broken joint. I was excited to find a local shop that would be to fix a clean break but, as soon as I let my rig leave my hand, into the care of Maine Daze Smoke Shop, I immediately started feeling uneasy. But I figured, it's just how anyone else would feel, leaving their baby with another person. From the moment, I left my rig at the shop, I felt obligated to check back every couple days to see if there had been any progress towards fixing the Toro Jetline. And I definitely knew that it could take some time to finish the job, considering their a functioning business that can't just put aside all their other work, just to fix my rig in a timely fashion. (I expected it would be a couple weeks or so, if not less depending on how busy their schedules were.) After waiting a couple weeks and checking back periodically in that time zone, I decided to hold off for a couple days and return at the beginning of the week on Monday. When I opened the door and walked in the next Monday, they greeted me with a smile and told me that your Toro Jetline was fixed and they just needed to go grab it. I was very happy, excited and also surprised that it had been fixed so soon but little to find out, they had missed placed my rig and couldn't find it. They scrambled around the store looking in the oddest of places; even on their own shelves for the Toro Jetline Rig, that I had dropped off weeks ago. As soon as they told me they lost the rig and or someone had stolen it, I didn't even know how to react, I was speechless and beyond frustrated. I am still speechless and beyond frustrated. After they had come to the conclusion it was stolen, the older guy behind the counter and a younger guy named John, told me to come back the following day to talk to the owner/manager. So, I ended up coming back the next day to speak with the owner and he wasn't there. The older guy said, I should've come by in the early morning because he was here and I had told him I wasn't able to come by in the early mornings because I work early in the mornings. So, the older man told me to come back again in the next day and so, I obviously returned the next day just to find out that the owner/manager wasn't there. This ended up being a revolving door for the rest of the week until I was talking to a good friend of mine about the Toro getting fixed and then misplaced/stolen. All in all, the older man behind the counter ended up giving me a Cheech & Chong Bubbler, saying this Cheech & Chong Rig will rip a thousand times better than my Toro Jetline Rig. Telling me I over payed for the rig anyways. (This made me even more irritated) It's like, I brought a Ferrari into their shop to get fixed but someone had stolen it so they compensated me with a complete beater. I would not recommend this shop for any repairments, purchases or anything really. The customer service here isn't any good and if you do have a problem here, they get really loud and in your face about it. They don't know how to properly reason with you. They can't even admit when they're wrong. One thing I will admit; is that I was wrong of thinking this was a good place to bring my rig to get repaired. I will forever tell people about my horrible experience at the Maine Daze Smoke Shop in hopes of saving another person from experiencing the misery that consumed me.
My friend convinced me to call the store after I posted the review because I hadn't heard from the manager yet. I called, I didn't get an answer and had to leave a voicemail but the owner did call back within maybe a half hour. I pleasantly & politely answered his call, hoping to resolve past problems. I started discussing with him why I was so frustrated, only to be cut off by constant interruptions and yelling because he was mad I posted a 1 star review on Yelp because well, you read it above. Which I found even more funny and pathetic because he seemed to only care about his store's reputation more than caring about how he treats his customers. But let me tell you, customer service is everything. Customers make your business possible. I was a customer but the way you treated me will never make me return to your store.
I highly recommend visiting: Blazing Ace, Awear, Higher Concept or Northern Lights for your Smoking needs and accessories. Their customer service and quality never ceases to surprise me. I'm treated so professionally and well that it makes me want to come back. They go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Overall, making you feel good about your purchase.
