Leaving most places with flower means you're tasting a mildewed version of the same ditchweed your brother-in-law grew without experience in the off-season. Jar is different. Maine-based strains, flavors which blow your mind, experience and terpine knowledge, fair prices and product which is far superior to any shops around them. AND THE VIBE! My goodness. OWNER IS…read moreIRRESPONSIBLE AND INCREDIBLY RUDE. **(we are both medical patients and have been in the industry for years)** My boyfriend and I had two glass pieces with simple joint breaks in each one that we wanted to get fixed. While we were in Maine we came across Maine Daze Smoke Shop in Portland, ME and the owner who seemed nice enough at the time said that they would each be an easy fix and he would be able to get them back to us within a 2 week period of dropping the pieces off, (we live in CT and drove the pieces up to his shop). After about 3 weeks we were reached out to by the owner asking for the second half of the payment, it was $150 all together and we put down a $75 deposit. At this time he also asked us to pay him an extra $25 for overnight shipping, which we did. SINCE THEN it has been an additional week and the owner has not put them in the mail and has continued to ignore the phone calls and texts from us trying to see if he had sent them out. The owner has been jerking us around saying that his girlfriend is at fault for not putting them in the mail and that he would make sure it was done by the end of the day. We were told this for multiple days in a row. This is $900 worth of glass that we have paid to get fixed and now are getting jerked around about, we had to basically track down the owner in order for him to send out the package almost a MONTH after we had given him the pieces to fix. AND IF YOU THOUGHT IT COULDN'T GET WORSE, IT DOES. He let us know that when he went to fix the $450 bong with a simple joint break at the bottom of the neck, not only did he ruin the shaping of the body of the bong and cause a divot in the side, he also caused stress fractures all up and down the piece because he put it in the kiln at too high of a temperature. (We did not ask for a discount because of this or anything, but he seriously ruined the integrity of the piece). There are pictures attached of the piece and you can clearly see how wonky it is. Not only was this entire ordeal incredibly unacceptable from someone who claims to be a responsible business owner, but from the immature attitude and out right name calling I wouldn't put it past him to be a drug addict as well. There is receipts attached of him calling my boyfriend names and talking shit because we were simply trying to get back our property. He claims that he wasn't worried about our 2 pipes because he has MUCH BIGGER things to "deal with", but the simple fact is that we already paid him for the work he did and he was refusing to send us our property. Incredibly unprofessional is every way possible, and I'm sure the bigger things he needs to deal with is making sure he has his fix to get through the day. I also feel the need to let everyone who reads this know that he tried to sell us oil and pot illegally, we are medical patients and get everything we smoke through legal dispensaries so we turned him down immediately, but he is not a licensed dispensary and does not have the right to be trying to sell us marijuana products. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE everyone stay as far away from this place as you can. The owner is a disrespectful child who is addicted to something. There are so many other, better locally owned smoke shops out there to support. People like this are not what the industry needs!!!!!

It was a clean break and the friend who recommended me to the shop, had just got his Toro Rig fixed with the same problem; a broken joint. I was excited to find a local shop that would be to fix a clean break but, as soon as I let my rig leave my hand, into the care of Maine Daze Smoke Shop, I immediately started feeling uneasy. But I figured, it's just how anyone else would feel, leaving their baby with another person. From the moment, I left my rig at the shop, I felt obligated to check back every couple days to see if there had been any progress towards fixing the Toro Jetline. And I definitely knew that it could take some time to finish the job, considering their a functioning business that can't just put aside all their other work, just to fix my rig in a timely fashion. (I expected it would be a couple weeks or so, if not less depending on how busy their schedules were.) After waiting a couple weeks and checking back periodically in that time zone, I decided to hold off for a couple days and return at the beginning of the week on Monday. When I opened the door and walked in the next Monday, they greeted me with a smile and told me that your Toro Jetline was fixed and they just needed to go grab it. I was very happy, excited and also surprised that it had been fixed so soon but little to find out, they had missed placed my rig and couldn't find it. They scrambled around the store looking in the oddest of places; even on their own shelves for the Toro Jetline Rig, that I had dropped off weeks ago. As soon as they told me they lost the rig and or someone had stolen it, I didn't even know how to react, I was speechless and beyond frustrated. I am still speechless and beyond frustrated. After they had come to the conclusion it was stolen, the older guy behind the counter and a younger guy named John, told me to come back the following day to talk to the owner/manager. So, I ended up coming back the next day to speak with the owner and he wasn't there. The older guy said, I should've come by in the early morning because he was here and I had told him I wasn't able to come by in the early mornings because I work early in the mornings. So, the older man told me to come back again in the next day and so, I obviously returned the next day just to find out that the owner/manager wasn't there. This ended up being a revolving door for the rest of the week until I was talking to a good friend of mine about the Toro getting fixed and then misplaced/stolen. All in all, the older man behind the counter ended up giving me a Cheech & Chong Bubbler, saying this Cheech & Chong Rig will rip a thousand times better than my Toro Jetline Rig. Telling me I over payed for the rig anyways. (This made me even more irritated) It's like, I brought a Ferrari into their shop to get fixed but someone had stolen it so they compensated me with a complete beater. I would not recommend this shop for any repairments, purchases or anything really. The customer service here isn't any good and if you do have a problem here, they get really loud and in your face about it. They don't know how to properly reason with you. They can't even admit when they're wrong. One thing I will admit; is that I was wrong of thinking this was a good place to bring my rig to get repaired. I will forever tell people about my horrible experience at the Maine Daze Smoke Shop in hopes of saving another person from experiencing the misery that consumed me. My friend convinced me to call the store after I posted the review because I hadn't heard from the manager yet. I called, I didn't get an answer and had to leave a voicemail but the owner did call back within maybe a half hour. I pleasantly & politely answered his call, hoping to resolve past problems. I started discussing with him why I was so frustrated, only to be cut off by constant interruptions and yelling because he was mad I posted a 1 star review on Yelp because well, you read it above. Which I found even more funny and pathetic because he seemed to only care about his store's reputation more than caring about how he treats his customers. But let me tell you, customer service is everything. Customers make your business possible. I was a customer but the way you treated me will never make me return to your store. I highly recommend visiting: Blazing Ace, Awear, Higher Concept or Northern Lights for your Smoking needs and accessories. Their customer service and quality never ceases to surprise me. I'm treated so professionally and well that it makes me want to come back. They go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Overall, making you feel good about your purchase.

I asked the cashier to remove these items, he hesitated, appeared to not know how, and then pretended to remove the extra items. He told me he refunded the extra money charged to my card. When I checked my balance at home, the original charge was the only transaction from the store. I emailed the contact number, no response. My only guess is that this guy does this on a regular basis to unwitting customers, and maybe the management doesn't mind. Just going by their lack of response to my email. Just check your receipt.

She demanded to see our IDs the moment we opened the door (we're both in our thirties) and when we asked a question, she continued to berate us for ID's faster than we could remove them from our pockets. Every sign on the door said that ID's were required at CHECK OUT, and that seemed to be true for every other of the five customers who walked in during this period, except for us. When we asked about whether they had a product and the answer was "no," we stood by the door to google other shops since it's frostbite weather and were stared down intently, uncomfortably, and creepily. Terrible experience; will not be returning, obviously. We went to Primo Glass after and they were really kind, only asked for ID at purchase and treated us like human beings; wild concept.
