My first and last visit to Herald Dentistry in Cottonwood Az. The only "pleasant" employee in this…read moreoffice was the front desk clerk. I was new to Arizona AND to this Dentist office. I needed a cleaning...that is it! Apparently, when a patient/client refuses deep cleaning and if the patient asks for gentle cleaning in a sensitive area, the Dentist will give you the boot! They only like patients who allow them to do any and all procedures they suggest. These folks absolutely do not understand how patents want to be treated. For example, if I refuse a treatment that I do not want, that should be ok. The DOC says I am not a "fit!" Beware....this office has all the latest greatest equipment and lots of staff. I even witnessed one staff member being verbally rude to another!? The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was clearly inexperienced. Extremely rough with her power tool annd kept gagging me with the other suction hook. Another so called "dr" spoke to me in a child like manner. My husband was in for a cleaning as well, and he was not satisfied with the staff, and agreed.....these people are NOT a "fit" for us! It was over a 2 hour horrible experience just to get my teeth cleaned! DONE with Herald Dentistry in Cottonwood Az

On March 25, 2026, I contacted five dental offices in Cottonwood, Arizona (including this one) in…read morean attempt to schedule a needed cleaning. Every one shamefully denied me treatment. Each one sought to potentially injure me by demanding a series of dangerous and unnecessary dental x-rays. They falsely asserted that they routinely need the series every three years before they can conduct a simple cleaning. They asserted that this is mandated by the American Dental Association (ADA). First, there is no 3-year rule or policy. The dentists fabricated that. Second, the ADA's new 2026 guidance reads the OPPOSITE. The ADA mimics the Arizona Administrative Code R12-1-407 which considers dental x-rays to be dangerous (i.e., there is no safe level of ionizing radiation). Both mandate that dental x-rays only be ordered where medically necessary, and not routinely. I then contacted the Arizona Dental Association and they wrote back concurring that these dentists were operating illegally and dangerously in violation of Arizona law. Dental x-rays may not be acutely dangerous but they are cumulative in their hazards, which means your cancer may not develop for 25 years from their unnecessary x-rays. Too late to sue the dentist. The genetic damage leading to cancer can build on itself year after year. The push for expensive x-rays seems to be motivated by profits instead of patient safety. MetLife and other medical malpractice insurance companies, on their websites, endorse the positions of the ADA and the State of Arizona. No one supports unnecessary medical procedures, especially if they are dangerous. You should know that 100% safe dental imaging exists. This includes dental ultrasound, which in many cases is actually superior to x-rays in detecting early cavities. Insist on ultrasound. Maddy Cottonwood, AZ Age 69 - Veteran

I would never recommend taking your child to this orthodontist. His communication is not thorough…read moreregarding what to expect in regards to your child's care. He passes off most of the work to his staff. My 8 year old received an expander and braces. She complained every day about the expander being very uncomfortable. We told Dr Boothe at her 3 week appointment after having the expander in. He stated this was normal and all kids go through the same thing. We took her to a different orthodontist who removed the expander and commented it was the largest he had ever seen. She had 3 places on the roof of her mouth and around 2 molars that were red and bleeding. The braces had been placed on her 4 front top teeth, 2 of which were very loose so were not holding anything. The new orthodontist has 4 different expanders available that he could have used. Our child's old metal expander is being replaced with a plastic removeable retainer that will now hold her palate in place; this could have been done easily at the 3 week mark when all the turns had been done and the roof of her mouth had expanded to it's current position. Also, a different metal expander could have been used instead of the one choice that is available at Verde Valley Ortho. Dr. Boothe does not have the current tools available to him and is still only using an expander that was designed in the 1950's. Don't let this Dr convince you that there is only one choice for Phase 1 orthodontic work.
