Wonderful traditional Austrian restaurant. Service is just ok, but the fish soups and artichoke soups were to die for. Gulash and schnitzel were also excellent. read more

My husband and I had my wedding here in August of 2012 and my we couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out. From help organizing the DJ, flowers, chapel, and special food requests, to bookin gour family and friends for the overnight party, Frau Sharfegger and her family were the nicest, most accomodating hosts we could ask for. We have also been back since then for coffeee and cake and family dinners. Frau Sharfegger is always eager to greet us and make us feel at home. And you can't beat the views!

There are better places to stay in that area, although i have to admit, the wood around the house and the looking of the house was traditional very nice.

The old snuggery is very cozy and is heated by a tiled stove. Also the built-on porch made of old wood (this is the non-smoking area) is awesome. The small but mighty menu is appealing. For the small appetite different breads are offered (e.g. with cold roast pork, bacon, dripping). In the ski-son the inn is regrettably totally overcrowded at midday. The inn can be reached by chair-lift from the village Mönichkirchen. In case the chair-lift is not in operation it is also reachable by car or via the village Mariensee.
