I'm a huge fan of Urban Exploring (or Lost Places) and this place was a nice find. Situated right…read moreon the coast, this place offers a lovely view and is ideal for a small meander and a few hours of exploring. The main house was built by one of the richest guys of his time, later on it was used by the NVA (east germanies army at the time) as officers quarts. They built a larger base around it, although the old bunkers and ruined houses are slowly being recaptured by nature. One thing though, as it's "private" property - there are no warning signs anywhere: use your head and please don't walk into everything. The place hasn't been tended to in 30 years, at some points you notice how the floor sags when you walk inside the main buildings and as far as I could tell, the whole place is built on huge bunkers (so falling down would hurt).

The city is small and nice. There are a lot of older people, so there are only a few things to do…read morefor younger ones. I was really lucky, that there was a festival with live music near the beach.
