We had a great time on this tour. We called ahead to ask all of our questions and purchased the tickets shortly after talking with the owner. Sedona was a beautiful relief from the Scottsdale heat. We took the ride through the city up to the Airport Mesa which didn't take too long. We were let off for about 20 minutes to take pictures at the top. If you're from out of town, let me help you a little bit. Travel is expensive enough. And while I wanted this tour to be worth the $45+ I spent on the bundle for the two part ride...it was not worth it. Part A: you can drive to the Chapel of the Cross... fight for a parking spot FOR FREE, and enter FOR FREE. Ditch this part. Part B: also not worth the cost of the trip, however, if it's not paying attention to the road, this party is for you. Flip a coin and take your chances. The speaker system on the trolley is poor quality so we had a hard time hearing our driver/guide. But when he scolded us for not listening, all bets were off. Also, get back to the trolley on time, or he will leave you stranded. To be fair, Kevin's humor and cynicism of being a trolley driver was fun...mostly. But if you want a worry free tour that is cost effective, do some research and use the money for drinks and dinner. it was very hard to hear the driver. The acoustics on the trolley are very bad and he has a very thick accent. On top of that, all the windows are open so when it got windy, you could hear even less. We took the B tour on the Sedona Trolley to Chimney Rock, Fay Canyon and Thunder Mountain. As a big Disney fan, I couldn't resist the chance to see the real life inspiration for the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The trolley picks you up in downtown Sedona and drives about 20 minutes outside of the city to see the rock formations. The guide tells stories about the area along the drive and then you get a chance to get off the trolley for some pictures at Fay Canyon. The scenery is stunning! Only issue is that the trolley is not made for tall people. My 6'4 boyfriend's knees were in the back of the seat and he had to take up part of my leg room to fit. read more

Truly the best first thing to do in Sedona as they advertise! We had been to Sedona a few times but wanted to go back to the Chapel of The Holy Cross via the scenic route while avoiding the traffic and fight for parking- totally worth it! Eric was amazing, he was entertaining and knowledgeable about the area. Provided a bit of name that tune. I did see previous comments about the audio system, which I believe have been addressed now. It's not perfect, but it's reasonably clear. We did a 10 AM which was very lightly attended, which made it very personable. I'm not sure the number of stops and all would make it a perfect use of time. However, I feel that some of the information that Eric shared was quite unique. It's a good first thing to do when you come to Sedona. Certainly nice for the normal "driver" to get a chance to view the mountains instead of concentrating on staying on the roadway. I was so excited to book with Sedona Trolley, that I did not realize I had chosen the wrong date-- December 24th, we would not be in Sedona by then as we are from out of state and traveling through. I loved that he touched base on Vortexes and even a brief story on Bradshaw Ranch-- seating is a little tight if you're on the bigger side, but luckily the trolley wasn't overbooked, so my husband and I were able to sit in our own bench. After hours of driving and getting stuck in traffic for the last 1hr into town, it was really nice to have someone else drive us around for a Sedona 101. Booking process and communication - Excellent. A real live human name Bobby picks up the phone when you call. These days that's a rarity! Bobby was very friendly and helpful in ensuring we arrived okay and parked at the right place. Tour A - Besides the nice Sedona 101, it was so nice to be dropped off so close to the Chapel on a hot day. Walking in 100+ weather from the parking lot is totally doable but not preferred. Tour B - We got Sam as our host and driver again! Enjoyed the edible wildlife lesson very much. I liked the story telling on this tour even more than Tour A. Great way to see a part of Sedona. We took the West side tour and enjoyed the narration. We did stop along the side of the road for about 10 minutes to listen to a longer narration about the Kachina Rock...I would have preferred the 10 minutes be used seeing more sights. I've done jeep tours and helicopter tours , so I decided to try the trolley. Took Tour B up to Boynton Canyon and had a great time. Our guide was very informative and friendly. The views were amazing. They take you to a parking lot in the canyon and you get about 5 minutes to get out for pictures etc. Although a short time, we still had time to check out the trails and take some great pics. Not as exciting as a jeep tour, but still a nice time to let someone else do the driving and sit back and enjoy the views. I'll be back to check out Tour A to the church. read more

Went on this tour last minute with my brother and our 2 dogs. I was here in Sedona last summer but did not do this tour due to timing. We were walking around the shops and just going in and out of the shops, relaxing and looking at things on our last day. The place was closed but the lady came back right as we were walking here and she welcomed us in. We asked if the tours were dog friendly and she said as long as they have seats available, dogs are welcomed, even my big dog, and there is no charge for dogs! My brother and I decided to book the tour to show us Boyton Canyon as we have no yet ventured on that side of town. Tours are really cheap at only $17 and it is 55 minutes long. Make sure to go to the bathroom before boarding. There is a bathroom at the eating area right where you wait for the trolleys. We were the first ones in line, so we boarded and went to the very back as we had our dogs and did not want them in the way of others. This particular tour was not full and there was only a handful of people, maybe like 15-20 people and the trolley probably holds closer to 50 people, so plenty of room for our dogs. I would suggest if you want to take your dog, just come here and book on the spot, since if they are full, your dog may not be allowed. The driver was also super welcoming of our dogs and he loved my shepherd. The other guests on board were also smiling seeing him sit with me ready for our tour. The tour goes pretty quick. The drive is also very scenic. You can chose to have the plastic covering up or down during your ride. Each one covers 2-3 rows of the trolley, so everyone would have to agree. During the start of the tour, everyone wanted it up. It sure got cold pretty quick. They make a short 5-10 minute stop for pictures and at that time, you can get off the trolley to take some pictures with the hills in the background. Everyone on board also wanted the covers down for the return trip also and it was much more comfortable as it was getting really cold fast. Our tour guide told is lots of info about the city, the structures we saw on the tour, pointed out celeb houses and made many jokes. I really recommend this tour for a quick cheap way to get in some city sights without you having to drive or figuring out where things are. They have 2 tours. If you do both, it is discounted about $5 or so, or $17 each tour. When you book, they also give you a discount card for some places to eat. We used the card to eat at Sedona Pizza Company which was also super dog friendly and delicious! read more

Let me just start by saying that I'm not one for this type of tour, but was with a group so I went along. I'd say if age or mobility are issues then this would be great. The guide was knowledgeable and funny; pointing out lots of sights, history and rock formations. We had 5 minutes at Fay Canyon Trail where we learned it's a pretty short, easy hike with little incline. We also learned, from the driver, that juniper and manzanita berries are edible! If you aren't a hiker or if you have any mobility issues or are simply on a time crunch, Tour B, which takes you south of town (a cost of $17/person) offers two stops for plenty of scenic photos. Reservations should be made in advance and you should get to the trolley early to get the seat you would like (near a window or toward the back where the trolley is open. Also, blankets are provided.) The tour driver gives tons of historical information, geography knowledge, points out where a few celebrities have and do live and a lot of other information from scientific theory behind the vortexes in the area to local medicinal plants and how Sedona almost became Hollywood. I took the Sedona Trolley for the 1 hour tour and it was great! The price of $22 was totally worth it. It was a great way to get informed about the local geography, wildlife, Native history and local folklore. The trolley itself was comfortable and the wood paneling were beautiful. We came across a flyer for the Sedona Trolley at our hotel and since we only had a few hours to spare in the morning we decided to check it out. We went in person to purchase the tickets an hour before departure and we got the last 2 seats. So I highly recommend booking ahead of time, online or by phone. They give you a discount card for nearby restaurants so we took advantage of that by purchasing a hot tea to take on the trolley with us. It was a nice touch. The man working in the office was really friendly, as was our driver/tour guide. The trolley itself was hot in the back with the plastic windows down. Definitely try to sit up front if you can, because there are real windows you can open. On hot days they remove the plastic windows and on cold days they provide blankets. You have the option of tour A or B (55 minutes) for $17, or both for $25. I recommend doing both because you'll get more for your money. We took tour A because of our time restriction and I felt that $17 was expensive for what we saw. You mainly just ride through the town and the highlight is a 15-minute stop at the Chapel of the Holy Cross on the hill. There was a ton of traffic going up the hill but once you're up there the view is nice. I think tour B would be more interesting because it takes you out of town to Boynton and Long Canyon. It does make for a relaxing morning and is a fine option if you have some time to kill. I just wish the single tour price was a bit lower. Don't forget to tip your driver. read more

We found some coupons and set out to do this tour first thing on a warm sunny day. Unfortunately we did not make reservations and they didn't answer when we tried to call before heading out the door so we arrived to find our time sold out. The person behind the counter was super nice and assured us we could go later in the day, but without a car we weren't sure we wanted to hang around town and wait. We originally had planned to take the 2 55 minute tours for 25$, but eventually chose to do only Tour B. They were nice enough to give us a slight discount since our first plan failed when it was sold out. Our driver was great, very entertaining and seemed to love the area. We had two brief stops which were great for pictures and bathrooms. My friend loved the photo opportunities and the driver was great about helping us get photos with the trolley both inside and out. We also received some 15 % off coupons for nearby restaurants, one of which we did eventually have a drink at. This tour probably took us back into an area we would not have gone to even with our own car, but we certainly could have. Our bus was full, causing some people to have to sit in more sun than they may have wanted to. My colleagues and I (all non-white) drove to Sedona for a day trip. We called ahead and reserved 4 spots on 5:00 Tour B - which was doable over the phone. The woman on the phone, Smokey, also offered us the sunset tour which departed at 4:30 - to which we said sure! We got stuck in traffic so I attempted to call to let her know that we're not going to make the sunset tour, but we're still on for 5:00 Tour B - but no one answered. We got to the storefront at 4:45, but the doors were locked and there was a sign that said they were closed. The woman, Smokey, finally opened up a few minutes later. When I started talking to her explaining that I called and we reserved the Tour B she looked at our group and her attitude quickly changed. She said she had to check with the driver who was sitting behind her to see if we could still tour. She went to the back of the office turned her back to us and whispered with the driver and then came back to us to tell us that the driver is feeling ill and we can't go on the tour because her throat is hurting and she can't talk - even though the driver was sitting there smoking her vape? So funny how over the phone we were all set, but once they saw the colored folk walk in, their attitude and the situation quickly changed. Don't waste your money. Go someplace else. This left us with a horrible taste in our mouths for Sedona, and we probably won't ever be back! Disgustingly rude and racist! read more
