FOB Key Programming. I Lost the FOB key to my 2010 Toyota Highlander while visiting the area from out of town. For those who don't know, the FOB key controls all door and starts the vehicle, without it there's not much you can do (if anything) to get it started. I didn't have the spare key so I contacted Toyota support in the states, they were no help, they suggested I see a local dealer and I did. The local Toyota dealership said they can order me keys but they would have to re-key the doors and install a new key computer system in order to program they new keys. They quoted me 1700 euros for two key and said it would take a minimum of 5 weeks. After doing some research, I called SECURA-TEC, Richard, who speaks decent English said I should order a key and give him a call once it arrives. I did just that, he was able to reprogram the key I order from a third party (NOT TOYOTA). He did so for a fraction of the price Toyota quoted me and it only took him a couple minutes. Locked keys in the car, and they were in the ignition. He got to Vilseck in twenty minutes. My vehicle lock proved pretty difficult, he was able to pull the keys out of the ignition and pull them through a the seal of the driver's door without damaging anything. Basically he will get you though any lock, even if he has to improvise. And it took him under ten minutes. And his English is awesome. read more
