When I asked if someone spoke English, the wait staff and hostess gave me a blank glance and shook their heads and went back to work. I decided to seat myself figuring I could wing it. Took about 20 min for anyone to even approach me at the table (with about 20 people in the place). The contempt for me as an English speaking, visually different than (most) Italians with blonde-blue eyes was palpable. Extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing actually. They did eventually give me an inglese menu after they figured I wasn't going to leave. Tagliatelle with ragu was tasty, but have had better in Bologna. The service (lack thereof for me) did not start my work trip off very well. Proper rude people that didn't have to be.
