I've ordered firewood several times from Craigslist, and my experiences have been very expensive and good or less expensive and crap (and definitely not a cord). Seattle Firewood Co hit the sweet spot. Friendly people, on the phone and at delivery. The driver showed up on time (huge) with a tilt truck. We live in a townhouse, and his care not to hit plants, cars, and wires was appreciated. Delivery measured just over a cord and nearly all the pieces are ready to go, so the ax will be tucked away most of winter. The wood did come with a fair amount of loose bark, but I used it for mulch around the racks. Only downside is the wood is seasoned but not bone dry (we've had a lot of rain), leaving it in the house two days before use dries it up plenty though. I will be ordering from them again. read more

Sometimes you order firewood and the truck shows up and you think, "Is a cord getting smaller?" This is not one of those places. It was a big pile of wood, and when I stacked it I measured it at around 140 cubic feet...that's a lot more than a cord. It's also well-seasoned. Moisture content was around 15-16%. At first, our order had to be scheduled 4 weeks out due to demand--not their fault. But a nice lady at the company gave us a call a week after waiting and was able to help schedule our delivery a lot sooner, within 2 weeks. I appreciate the effort to get that delivered as soon as possible. The truck driver was a pretty cool dude too. Such a great service that went above and beyond. I recently ordered a half cord from Seattle Firewood. I left a message for them in the afternoon and promptly heard back the next morning. Shocking in this day and age! Phone person was very personable and took my order for the half cord of mixed hardwood and said they'd deliver within two business days. Sure enough, the delivery was scheduled for two days later. Driver showed up right on time and dropped the load, a legit half cord, right where I wanted it. He was a nice guy and was a pleasure to do business with. The wood was dry as a bone. For years we've picked up firewood from downed trees on the sides of the road to meet our summer campfire and winter cozy fire needs. But we were getting a little tired of the work and wanted instead to just spend the money for the convenience of a large supply of ready-to-burn firewood. Many "firewood dealers" are just folks with pickup trucks who will dump a bunch of nasty logs (usually less than a full cord) at your house, take your cash and drive away. With these folks you usually have to "know somebody" or spend hours looking around on Craigslist. You really don't know what you're going to get. Seattle Firewood Company is the total opposite of that kind of business. Morgan, the young proprietor, is setting up a very professional business, with great attention to detail. He seems to take personally the quality of the service and of the product. He's a pleasure to work with. Our experience: we bought the firewood online though the company's website (which was easy and convenient), Morgan contacted us to find a delivery time to Seattle, and then on delivery day, he showed up in a beautiful truck and left us a big pile of high-quality split hardwood logs, seasoned and ready to burn. I, personally, underestimated how big a "cord" of firewood would be (we have enough wood for campfires for probably a decade!) but the business end of the transaction was professional, courteous, and as good as any service we've received from a business in many years. Sometimes it is worth taking time to recognize great work done by people who care very much about the work they're doing, and this is one of those times. Rated a 3 because their communication is horrible. I ordered the cord online (my bad, I probably should have talked to someone first) The company charges your credit card right away. Then other then the purchase confirmation email you don't hear anything. I was finally able to contact them to arrange delivery after texting, emailing and calling. Now the good. I was happy with the quality of wood that was delivered. The quantity seemed like a chord. When the wood was stacked it was a single row of about 4 ft high and close to 24 ft long. Only negative with the wood was some of the split pieces are very large. read more

I purchased a mixed hardwood cord and it exceeded my expectations. Delivery was smooth and was a full cord if not a bit more. I have tried to go the cheap route from different vendors and ended up with short cords and knotty unprepared pieces of different lengths. This was all well split and ready for the fire.
