The doctor comes in and tells me several (4) to be exact are infected in my gums and they want to set up a consultation to go ever a plan and costs. 2nd time I come in, I wait forever and get put in a procedure room and wait over 40 minutes when they finally tell me she is with an emergency appointment. OK. So today, my 3rd appointment and 2nd time trying to see doctor, I sit in a room with 5 others who get taken back. By 2:23pm i go to head desk, when my appointment was 2pm and have confirmed via text. Finally put in a procedure room with extreme pain of 2 of the previously infected teeth (that they did not want to give me antibiotics for until they scheduled a procedure) so "yes" now in extreme pain with swelling and ready to lance it myself and still waiting. I am so beyond stressed that I finally walk out at 2:40pm (40 minutes my 2nd time, when this is coming from my own pocket). Truly dismissive of someone in need and was putting trust in them. Did I slide through cracks....Hell yes...be cautious...this is absolutely worst experience of someone in desperate, painful need that had 2 appointments with complete dismissive reactions. So disgusted.

It's not always easy to find new providers. Reading online reviews. Checking recommendations on social media. And of course comparing each one to the list of providers on our insurance plan. This is how we found Seaside Family and Cosmetic Dentistry!! My husband's hygienist, Emily, gets rave reviews from him. He has stated repeatedly how thorough and gentle she is during his visits. My hygienist is Krista and she is just as fabulous too! Very friendly, gentle, and made sure that I completely understood everything she was doing and all that she had explained to me. The doctor, Dr. Francis, was very personable and again, just like her staff, easy to talk to and understand what we need to know about our dental health and maintaining it. Oh don't let me forget the front desk!! Even when I'm having a moment trying to understand the insurance, the ladies were so, so kind and patient! The entire staff carry a very positive vibe and genuinely like to work together!! That's a gift!! Went it and it was odd at 9am I was the only person…read morein the entire building I called weeks ago and they said they were fully booked out and only time I could get in and not a soul was there but me and 4 others who worked there. Got seen and did my X-rays got sat in the chair and seen the dentist. I was there to get my bottom dentures started. First off he comes in and ask if I want to pull my bottom teeth, I said yes pull them all I'd like to just finish what I started, then he proceeded to ask if I had top dentures.... At this point I'm confused so I move on. He told me we would need to get my insurance approval perfect great fine with that. Don't really have a choice, next He goes off and says let's just do the surgery pull all the bottom teeth then heal up then submit the request to approve my dentures. I said absolutely not. Get approved then do the extractions around the time the temporary dentures would be in so I had them to wear. So I could heal and eat. After that he agreed to do that but we would need to do a mold of my bottom teeth. So we go ahead and do so, in the process he brings this liquid mold half way down the hall to the room I was in proceeded to make the worst mess all over my face shirt and pants. I ask if there was anything I could use to clean up the mess he told me no that I needed to use what I could see and not dig through anything. No water to rinse my mouth nothing. After all that I go to talk about process and what it looked like because I know all places are different, receptionist and dentist both said they would numb my bottom jaw and do full extraction while awake. I said HELL NO. absolutely not. You are extracting my entire bottom jaw, wisdom teeth that are impacted coming in sideways and you wanna just "numb my jaw" while fully awake while you yank out everything. Nooooo. The dentist got all rude and started to refuse me a referral to an oral surgeon. I left. That was the worst customer service and dentist I've ever been too. Thankfully I have a few people I know who are dentist and they said oral surgery like I would need for my teeth being numb is extremely dangerous and no recommendation at all for the course of action. I will never be going here again.

Front desk staff was amazingly kind and got me in right away for the extraction and bone graft with Dr. Jones. The office manager, Corina, spent some extra time with me to put me at ease while going over the treatment plan (BC I was freaking out with anxiety in addition to the throbbing pain that had consumed my entire head at that point). He was gentle, thorough, and still managed to make me laugh despite my circumstances. I am so grateful I came here. They rushed a temp tooth/partial for me, so that I wouldn't have a hole in my smile while waiting for my bone to heal. I will be back in a couple weeks for follow up and a couple months for implant placement. I can not recommend this dentist enough!

It didn't even have that weird dentist office smell that usually unnerves me. My daughter counted fish in the saltwater fish tank while we waited. Another plus is Smith Family offers more services and procedures than other dentists.
