    More mold
    Akiyoshi S.

This was so over priced and nasty!!! As a local this is a shame to have stayed at one of the most historical places here on kauai! What a shame and bad experience we had here. From the musky smell as we entered to going home to take a shower because the bathrooms had hair in it and so moldy. Had to go home and bring my own blankets because the one they offered was blood stained. The door wasn't even secure I had to put my own camera for safety means and the remote was broken and rusted out that I had to go home and get our remote. The internet didn't work so I had to use my own portable Wi-Fi. What a shame what a shame!! They didn't even give a local resident discount. Communication was very poor. They charge a three hundred dollar cleaning fee... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

We stayed in F1 Nice high shower head. The amenities were Cable TV (really old small TV though), internet, DVD player, and CD player. There is no A/C. The bed was really uncomfortable. Well stocked kitchen, sticky cabinets (due to sea water?) were kinda gross. If you want to use the BBQ area bring your own charcoal. There is a small pool, no hot tub though. The pool was ice cold, not even usable. Read their email before you leave, you have to print out a parking pass... we didn't read this beforehand. They should leave one in the condo for your convenience. For the amount of the cleaning fee there is a lot of dust on the fans, and headboard of bed, my allergies were getting to me. Several of the light bulbs were out, and window by the front door was missing a pane. You even have to wash your dishes or they will charge you extra, I washed them but didn't put them away because they were still wet... hope I don't get charged extra. This place didn't feel very secure with cheap windows and sliding glass door that could be easily jimmied open. On the plus side the ocean view was nice...

Beautiful, stunning ocean views, blissfully quiet, and all the amenities I could want--I LOVED my stay in condo J9! I will definitely choose this condo again for the following reasons: 1) J9 is upstairs on the end, very private, with full ocean views The window seat, lanai, and both bedrooms have large windows that look out onto beautiful ocean views. I kept the bedroom window open at night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Another favorite spot: I snuggled up in the window seat with large comfy pillows and read, whale watched, and listened to the waves crash on the beach below, and no other condo faced me, so it was very private. Also, the pool is nearby (though I didn't use it), and the landscaping around the condo is quite nice. 2) The condo is well equipped There are beach towels and boogie board for the beach. Also a nice kitchen and dining area with everything you need for cooking and dining in. The bed was very comfortable and decor was nice. Special bonus points for super soft sheets! 3) The location is fabulous Sealodge is just a few minutes drive from the Princeville Shopping Center with a Foodland market, hardware store, good restaurants, and Tiki Iniki, a great tiki bar. My friend and I enjoyed Tiki Iniki very much. The food was excellent and the cocktails well crafted. Some of the chairs and lamps were rescued from the famed Coco Palms. Across from Tiki Iniki is a small Chinese restaurant with delicious won ton soup. It was so convenient to stop in to the shopping center on the way back to the condo. The world famous Hanalei Bay and the St Regis hotel are just about five minutes down the road by car. The St Regis will valet your car for free, so it's very convenient and accessible from Sealodge to stop in at the St Regis for lunch. Don't miss sunset from the hotel's lanai, overlooking Hanalei Bay. Magical! Back at Sealodge, just a few steps downstairs from condo J9, a large grass common area with breathtaking ocean views. It's a wonderful spot to watch the sun come up. I can't wait to go back to Princeville, and I will definitely book J9 again!

We stayed in H7 which had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Very quiet and private even on the Lanai. We cannot wait to come back.

Due to a family reunion, we needed an extra place to stay when visiting most recently during July 2013. We loved the authentic worker-style cottage and property, very similar to our relatives' home just up the road, where we usually stay. What we liked: - Location: Remote and on the lush North (north!) Shore, directly across from the beach - Auntie, the owner, was patient and friendly through the reservation process and during the visit. She was very understanding when my lasy payment check didn't go through the first time, oops! - The simple interior and exterior of this cottage, which really lets you feel the "island lifestyle," - The kitchen had everything you need to cook real meals - Brand new washer and dryer. I am totally in love with this area of Kauai, it never gets old even after 20+ visits. If you are low maintenance, and like simple, affordable, authentic lodging and service, this is the place for you. Auntie even accommodated our young daughter stay for a very minimal additional charge, by providing extra bedding, and towels. I would definitely stay here again, and again, and again.

We love the location close to Hanalei, which by the way if you want to go to for some great fish and chips pass, Hanalei is a place called Opakapaka Grill. Fantastic fish, and chips and fries! And decently priced beers. Anyway, the woman I dealt with at hysteria I believe her name was Gloria was just wonderful and was very proud of all the units that they manage.

Your marriage will thank you. This was our second trip in two months and we're already planning a trip back. Background: We've been wanting to check out Kauai. In the past three months we've stayed at the megas at Poipu, local places at Kapaa and by far the very best is Hanalei Bay. We looked at the megas and upon exploring via car we found the Hanalei Surfboard House (https://hanaleisurfboardhouse.com). We meant to do all of the hiking, snorkeling and events we did from the other two visits and somehow we just relaxed, swam in the Ocean and walked in the little town and went to local beaches. Hanalei Surfboard House: We stayed in the "Love Shack"! Wow how fun and what a charge! The outdoor shower is amazing although there is a full bathroom. The private patio is fabulous. I can't say enough about this great find. Simon the owner is a record producer, and the memorabilia in the Love Shack bungalow is worthy of a museum. The bedding was great and the bed fabulous. There is a really cool grounds kitty that may follow you to the beach. If you're not into cats she somehow knows as my husband is allergic to cats and she never approached him. We did stock up at Safeway and also we walked back into town with flashlights and tried some little restaurant of which there were many. We walked on the beaches and had morning coffee on the beach (which is across the street literally). We always felt perfectly safe and didn't feel like we were pushing the locals out. When you stay here walk down the beach to the pier as a fun jaunt.

Very long story short: The minute we got there, we noticed a high-pitched whining noise that we at first thought was a water leak or break in the walls. This was at The Cliffs condo complex in Princeville, where we have stayed in years past. We initially called the property front office - who said that because we rented it from Aloha Rentals-- we had to contact them-- Which we did. Both the girl at the office as well as as a " repair man" that they sent over, insisted that the noise was coming from a rooftop exhaust fan on the building and that it was a normal noise and would go on and off (It never did). My husband is an engineer, and his perspective was that the fan needed repair- possibly a new bearing. Aloha told us that if we wanted to move, we could and they would give us a full refund -- They never offered to help us find another place. We know Kauai well, and it is absolutely impossible to find a vacation rental on short term notice-- and they knew this. So simply telling us to go leave and find something, without offering to help, was unbelievable. We literally had no choice but to stay there, so we did. But the incessant whining made it so that we did not want to be in the unit - when we were there, spent all of our time on the porch, where we could not hear it. When we returned home, I Called and spoke to the Cliffs front office, who were horrified to hear our story, And they said that no, the noise should NOT have been there at all and had they known about it, and the property was under their management - They would've fixed it immediately. They were also horrified to know that Aloha did not offer to help us find another location, and just told us to leave if we didn't like it. Aloha refused to give us any kind of refund at all - even after I said that the front office completely agreed with my husband (the engineer) that something would was wrong with it. NEVER rent from this company
