My experience with the Netherlands lab has been smooth and swift, and all my data has been recovered.
I contacted the warranty department after my 2TB FireCuda SSHD failed after 7 months of use. I had lost a big portion of unbacked-up data, and Seagate offered to perform the recovery in within my warranty, in their Netherlands lab. The communication with them was fast and direct, and the employees were very polite and helpful. I always carefully read their instructions - make sure you do too! I sent the drive via UPS. It took them less than 10 working days to fully recover my data (around 1.7 TB), and send it back on a 2TB Backup Plus external drive, with a decryption code. Very easy and straightforward process. I was thrilled to receive my data back! Lesson learned - backup your stuff daily!!
Otherwise, I have been using 3 other external 5TB Seagate drives, one of them for more than 2 years of daily use, and they have been working fine.
