Pretty good, pretty pricey thai/fusion food. This definitely seems like a hot spot. It's large and was pretty packed on a Friday night. The menu leans Thai, but there are many fusion items. I also noticed Thai favorites but under different names -- so just asked the server if you're unsure. The food came out pretty quick and our server was cool. We ordered: - triangle curry puff (2/5) the filling was too sweet and heavily black peppered - tup tum fritters (5/5) reminded me of shumai but fried, very tasty - sea chicken wings (4/5) could have been crispier but the flavors were good - nabon noodles (4/5) the flavors are AMAZING here with perfectly cooked chicken, shrimp, and veg and over cooked noodles which was disappointing - classic Thai tea & mango Thai tea: both were great! We ordered the crispy shrimp, shrimp pad Thai and drunk man noodle. Muay Thai cocktail and Thai Mule. I think my waiter misheard me and got me the spaghetti drunk man noodle. So when I was eating it I was thinking to myself how this tastes nothing like the usual drunken noodles I order from other Thai places. It's definitely on the sweet side and not spicy at all. I'm wondering how their original drunk man noodle is. Still tasted good and I finished everything. The cocktail hit me just right and wasn't too strong or watered down, for me. I went on a Saturday afternoon for a 3pm reservation which I made via open table . The reservation was taken on time, temperature is checked at the door and I was seated close to the middle. There was no spacing of tables between me and the other party but the restaurant does have plastics dividers hanging to provide a barrier. The waiter was attentive and quick with my order . I got the sea wings and spicy chicken fried rice . The wings seemed to be a little over cooked and not as good as I remember but still very tasty . The rice was full of flavor and not as spicy as I anticipated. For drinks I had a Moscow mule it wasn't really strong but it was tasty . I also had a ploy pai Lin which was extremely strong and very good . Everything was delish, and came out in a timely manner which I appreciated since due to Covid restrictions dining is limited to 90 mins . After a good 10-year hiatus, I came to Sea for my sister's birthday and it is still a vibe. Its much noisier than I remembered and thankfully the lights are up more (you can see menus better, and take great photos). The menu is pretty solid and I went with the shrimp claypot. My sister and her husband got fried rice. We all were full and got to go containers. It was really very tasty and I was sad the bar we visited down the block afterwards, "accidentally" tossed my container (and stole my face shield), I was looking forward to them. The drinks were not the best, a tad weak and inconsistent. Our server was friendly and they really made the birthday song special. We were kind of off put by the cake fee for a tiny cake for 3 people, but it is what it is. I'll likely go back for that delicious claypot again soon. read more

One of the worst experiences I have had with a pickup order. After getting the alert that the food was ready, we went to the restaurant who then told us that it was not ready yet. We waited around for another 20 minutes before asking again and they then found our order that they misplaced somewhere so the food was just sitting out cold. And they didn't even care that they had done this either, treating it as a regular occurrence. This level of service was horrible and not the way customers should be treated. The ambience at Sea is a vibe. As soon as you walk in -- there's a statue of Buddha and in front of him is a small pool of water. Guests were seated on both sides; protected by a barrier. There's also other cool decor around the restaurant. Currently, due to the pandemic, Sea stops seating at around 9:30 but you can still takeout food up until 10:30. For my appetizer, I tried their stuffed crab rangoon. I wasn't a big fan. It's artificial crab inside. My entree was the drunk man's noodles excluding the squid. It was just meh. Nothing special. When you walk into the restaurant, it is so pretty there's like there's water with a statue and it just creates this ambiance of calmness. There's so much seating they play regular music that's playing on the radio like R&B and hip-hop. There's another section where there are flowers and a swing for you to sit down and take pictures now let's get to the food I had the steamed chicken and shrimp dumplings. They were amazing, the steamed dumplings, and then I had the roasted duck. The food was just so good. The service was great. The lady was on point was ordering the things that we wanted and the food came promptly. It was a very clean and I recommend this place for anyone in Brooklyn. I've always wanted to come here. But it was always super crowded, a long wait and I heard mixed reviews. I finally came and it the food was just okay that was years ago. Pineapple Fried rice was mushy and the crab Rangoon was only a step above Chinese takeout. A friend wanted to come for their birthday so I decided to give them another shot. It was packed as usual. I was late to arrive and they kept bringing me to the wrong table. SMH. It was clean and they have a ton of different seating areas and styles. Two swings for pictures. Well lit but still dim. Water in the middle of the place with a boat floating in it. Loud and bustling. Definitely instagrammable. The server was absolutely rude and he seemed overwhelmed, overworked and underpaid. I was so turned off. He was stand offish. Every time we asked a question he said look at the menu. Huffing and puffing through his mouth and nose. Rolling eyes and bothered body language. Honestly some of the worst service I ever received in a restaurant. One of the people in the party was very green in terms of Asian food. Meaning his closest comparison was the local Chinese restaurant. Which we all know doesn't serve authentic Chinese food. Anywho I don't want to say it's a race thing. I've been to plenty of Asian establishments and received quality customer service. But he definitely had a chip on his shoulder that makes me never want to return. I love that the wonton wrappers were green though it wasn't clear what vegetable was used. The curry sauce was not your traditional Caribbean curry or Asian or Indian but it was delicious. Not clear what the crunchy garnish was but again, the whole dish tied together beautifully. Had a ton of different textures and flavors. We ordered another to share it was that good. They contained crab and shrimp. I also got the walnut shrimp. They were good. The salted caramel had good flavor and wasn't too sweet. The walnuts added a nice crunch. I don't like walnuts for snacking etc but they worked in the dish. I wasn't super hungry so I just had the appetizers and picked off the birthday boys plate. He had the brooklyn basil, which is shrimp, mussels, scallops and squid with bell peppers, onions and ginger in a chili paste. It was good and spicy. Nothing too crazy. Came with a side of white rice. The seafood was cooked properly. The portion was shareable. I wouldn't order as my entree but I would definitely eat some if it was ordered. The other party wanted a curry. I explained to him how it wasn't like Caribbean curry. The server wouldn't answer questions as he was trying to make an informed decision. I believe he got the Malay Massaman Curry with shrimp. I don't believe the menu said it came with peanuts. Had the server wanted to do his job and answer questions, incidents could've been avoided. He was turned off by the peanuts and didn't want to eat it. I tasted it and it was well made and good with the peanuts. But I'm more cultured. When we flagged the server down to have it switched for something else. He had a conniption. I didn't care he was kindly but firmly told he would take it back and swap out for something else or have his manager come over and we'd tell them to do it. Unbelievable this guy. The last time I dined here was back in 2011 and nothing has changed it was pure nostalgia. I called before picking up and my order was ready when I got there. Still a great ambiance nice music nice waterfall in the middle and it was very calm and not too crowded on a Sunday. My green curry also included shrimp. The flavors were bursting and it was not too spicy as I asked the chef to ease up on the spice. You can also taste all the freshness in the ingredients as well. I paid approximately 21.00 in total and of course a $10 tip. I will definitely be back to visit soon. read more

I've been going to sea for yrs, I love the food and the atmosphere but the service can be a little lacking at times. My biggest pet peeve is making reservations for a certain time, showing up and still having to wait, if I have reservations for 7pm I believe in a 15min grace period, after that I should be seated. The waiting game is what's keeps me from going there more often. Overall the restaurant is beautiful, typical Asian aesthetics, the stand out is the pond with the floating flowers. You can always set your intentions and drop a coin in there if that's your belief. There's standard and the wooden style shared seating close to the pond. They're know for their drinks, the make these elaborate and pretty mixtures that the patrons can't help but consume. Cute decor. Not as cute decorum. As we sat, the server immediately demanded three times that we order cocktails and appetizers. This was before we ever even got a glass of water. There were only four other tables. What was the haste? As a starter we ordered a papaya salad. Very bland. I've had much better. For entrees we got pad thai and eggplant mock duck. So the actual pad thai noodles were hot...the chicken in the dish, however, was cold. This shows the chicken was pre cooked much in advance. Couldn't even finish it. How can you mess up pad thai? The eggplant mock duck with rice entree was a nightmare. The dish was barely heated up. I've never had rice so dry and cold. It was definitely day old rice. When we finally caught our server's attention, she tried to gaslight me and said rice is cooked fresh daily. Two tables besides us were complaining how cold their dishes were and no one even finished their rock hard dry cold rice. I spoke with a manager and she seemed clueless with how things in the restaurant/kitchen were operating. I asked her to look at the tables being served food and explain how not one dish had steam from it. Tried out this place in Brooklyn and they were pretty good! The menu had endless options. For our appetizer we started with the pad Thai spring rolls, walnut shrimp and crab rangoon. Everything was great but I wish the rolls came with 4 instead of 3. Two orders probably would have worked better for our party size had we known. For my entree; I ordered the Had Yai chicken with curry rice and sweet chili sauce. It was basically a 1/2 of fried chicken with chili sauce. It wasn't my first choice but I appreciate the waiter being honest with me about what I originally wanted. I had the Bussaba & the King drinks and they both were great. I have been to this restaurant multiple times and the food is always very good, but the service not so much. The restaurant was not very busy but yet the waiters were not very attentive. You have to ask them for something multiple times meanwhile you can see all of them laughing and talking in the corner. Anyways I guess it's still worth going because the food is always good, the wings and the tum tip dumplings are delicious, the drunken noodles are the perfect texture with a little spice and the sauces for the chicken and fish are pretty good too. Today- We got here at around 10pm and were taking pictures while we were waiting to be seated. At 1019 when we saw no one seated us we just set by the fountain. The host/ waitress then said that the kitchen closed at 1015. I literally bring everyone here for birthdays multiple times a year and anytime friends are traveling this is a go to spot for us. I've been coming here for over ten years and have never experienced this. It's my go to for comfort and special events. I cannot believe they did not even try to accommodate us. People around were seated and still eating. When I called the auto system said it closed at 11 and again, today was my best friends birthday. I am so disappointed. When I asked the lady for her name her response was "why do you want it"... she then tried to blame her coworkers for not seating us as she was busy tending other tables. The restaurant was not very busy and we watched tables around us received their drinks. Also waited a long time to have anyone take our appetizer orders. Once our orders were in, we received our food pretty quickly. Food was good. Tup Tim Fritters are always good. Seafood bbq (skewers with shrimp, scallop, squid) is pretty good. Calamari isn't bad. The food has decent flavor depending on the items I personally enjoyed my dish however the people I went with both times all said their meals were lacking. The drinks were okay, but the visuals are stunning in the day and the environment is peaceful. A very nice place for lunch or early afternoon bite if you like serenity. The staff is always nice never had any issue with anyone specifically however it can become confusing and lead way to a problem with an order because the servers don't ever seem to be the same during a single sitting. The host seats you and then before the menu is looked at one person comes and asks about your order, if you put in a drink order by the time they come a new person is taking your food order and delivering your drinks. I didn't have a reservation and my party of 5 was seated within a few minutes. The interior is beautiful. But the loud pop music detracts from what could otherwise be an elegant vibe. This place can easily accommodate large groups but if you're looking for an intimate setting for an evening meal, this may not be it. It was sometimes hard to hear the conversation across the table. The restaurant's decor is very unique, starting from the moment you walk in. The waiting areas even treat you to visually interesting things and a huge swing that is definitely for picture taking while you wait. Food It's Thai food. Obviously good. My friend had a steak and it was flavorless. Also-no steak knife? Why you have to ask for a steak knife when you ordering a steak? Smh. Our waiter was MIA the entire evening. Nobody asked us how our food was. We had to keep looking around for help from various servers as our waiter had left us. I am giving 2 stars not 1 bc they did not charge me for my main dish and I appreciated that. However, I will not be back here for food any time soon. Seek your Thai food elsewhere.
