I stopped by this cute little shop and I'm so glad I did. The owner was so so sweet and we ended up chatting for a bit, she made me feel really welcome. I absolutely loved this store found some beautiful shells here and the cutest small glass pieces. The prices are all very reasonable and there is so much to look through. I met Debbie who is the owner and runs Sea Shell and she is absolutely a doll, so sweet and wonderful lady! She did let us know that since Sea Shell Shoppe has opened its doors it's been a woman opened and operated shop which is so cool! I definitely will be making my round to stop in and see Debbie and her beautiful shop again! read more

I was taking a picture of three cute items I wanted to buy when an employee came up to me and aggressively told me I'm not allowed to take pictures of anything in the building despite there not being any signs posted saying "no pictures allowed". My mom and I have been here several times in the past since we live in a nearby town and have never been told we weren't allowed to take photos. The owner seems nice but the employee that came up to me was so rude and unwelcoming that I don't think we'll return. It's sad because we've bought from here several times in the past but this felt ridiculously unwelcoming as customers. read more

Came in here with a friend and we were so excited to come with our kids to find some cool shells. Unfortunately the store owner older woman was very shifty with her moods. Came off just rude and unwelcoming. Wouldn't let a child use the restroom for whatever reason she was going on and on about. Just was a uncomfortable atmosphere. Take your business to the Treasure shop right down the way. They're much friendlier there! read more

This place is an amazing place to visit on your trip in Rockport. It had many items, toys for kids, collectables as memories of your trip, shells and much more. This cool little kitschy shop in the Rockport Arts District has fun stuff! This is the oldest continuously running gift shop in Rockport- open since 1946. They have all kinds of the weird novelty stuff that you need when you go to the beach! They've got a huge variety of seashells (few, if any are local) that are beautiful, and would look great in your fish tank or home's seaside scene! They've got postcards to send to your friends, and all kinds of things that say "Rockport Texas" on them. Need a novelty bottle opener? They've got 'em. Seashell covered treasure chest? Check! It's like Davy Jones' locker in here. They've got the largest selection of stuff made out of seashells that I think I've ever seen. It's like they've raided The Little Mermaid's parent's underwater castle, and are selling off the conch shell chandeliers, oyster shell light switches, and weird nautical works of art. The staff is friendly, and seem happy to have browsers and window shoppers come through. Parking is easy, and it's in a row with a bunch of other cool shops along the same street. read more

Cute little shop, lots of shells and other cool things to choose from at great prices. Deducting one star because I had to wait FOREVER to check out because the woman at the counter was having a long conversation with the family in front of me. I felt a little bad for being impatient because the woman was obviously very friendly and was just having a nice conversation, but I and several others stood in line for almost 20 minutes so they could chat. I get that this is a small, friendly store and I completely respect and admire that, but it is extremely rude to keep your customers waiting for that long. Have them step to the side, keep chatting, but continue to help the other customers in your store. I was very close to just leaving because I was so tired of standing in line. read more

Whoever said good things come in small packages must have visited the Sea Shell Shoppe. It's a bit of a tight fit, but I think it's worth the moving carefully through the aisles. Any way you can glue/put shells together has been thought of here. With a number of other little items (seashore related signs, wooden figures, jewelry, etc.) anyone can find a little souvenir to take back home. read more

We came in looking for a couple shark necklaces for our daughters one of the teeth in the necklaces were chipped, the lovely employee there was very nice & so willing to work with us she helped us put a new shark tooth in the necklace. Our daughters are going to absolutely love them. read more

Thought to stop by this shop but found out they sell hermit crabs unethically and tried to tell customers that they can live on gravel and drink water from the sink (not true at all, they will die fast if you do). We tried to tell them what to buy to help them but got turned away by the shop keeper. The other customers wanted to know more from us but the shop keeper kept butting in and telling the customer misinformation. A small business like this shouldn't lie about things like this. read more

Horrible shopping experience - very rude owner. Ignored me while waiting to check out my items. When I asked to check out since my husband was waiting in the car on our way back to our home - heading home - she was very rude and said maybe we should have started out earlier. She had finished checking out another customer before me and continued to talk to her another 5 minutes and this customer was a local. I did not check out my items - owner walked away after I said that it was rude that she said we should have left earlier. Cute shop BUT I was not rude or impatient- I waited and finally said something about my husband waiting. She continued to talk and ignore me. I've never had an experience such as this. This is a shame to leave Rockport with this bad customer service after our whole trip everyone had been friendly and welcoming! I will not recommend or shop here again. read more

Absolutely wonderful little place!!!! Deborah is a fantastic and kind lady. We spent more time here than any other gift shop I've ever been to. Deborah was wonderful to our children and we all loved to hear her fantastic stories about the history of the shop and the items there. We loved meeting Rocky, her fun hermit crab friend. My family and I stop by this shop on almost every trip into Rockport, but after last weekends experience we won't go back. We waited almost 30 minutes before the owner stopped in between customers to help us. I don't know if the owner was having a bad day or ?, but her comments were very dry and unfriendly towards us. Just some advice from one business owner to another; If you don't want people touching your air plants because, as you loudly stated, you don't want them bruised, put a sign up stating so. Also, they wouldn't get bruised if they weren't all crammed into the small-sectioned basket you have them in. In terms of the current state we are in, I understand that people have very different views on the pandemic, mask wearing, and the Covid virus itself, however, I wouldn't state how it's "Just a flu", in front of someone who has lost friends and family members to it-it's bad etiquette and can be very personal to many of your customers. On a side note, a few months after Harvey, my daughter and I drove to Rockport with donated bottles of bleach, cleaning items and other necessities and your store was the first one we stopped in because we loved it so much- you even showed us around your shop to show us the damage. read more

Great shop, really recommend! Certain things are a bit overpriced, but all is forgiven, they sell individual shells for very cheap. They have cute hermit crabs for sale and HUGE tree crabs but I don't think they are for sale. A read more

Such a cool little place, great finds. The owner was rude to my wife after we had spent quite a bit of money. They don't seem to be a big fan of kids in the shop either which is a little more understandable. We usually shop here 3 times a year but as with many shops in Rockport, the level of contempt for shoppers will keep us out. At least in Aransas Pass and Padre they are basic polite. read more

I am a Rockport resident, and visited the Sea Shell Shoppe today hoping to find some unique Christmas gifts. However, I was offered almost no acknowledgement after perusing the store for roughly ten minutes, as the owner, I suppose, was talking on the phone to someone regarding her Christmas shopping list.
