one of the cute items I was thinking of buying before an employee rudely told me we aren't allowed to take photos

I was taking a picture of three cute items I wanted to buy when an employee came up to me and aggressively told me I'm not allowed to take pictures of anything in the building despite there not being any signs posted saying "no pictures allowed". My mom and I have been here several times in the past since we live in a nearby town and have never been told we weren't allowed to take photos. The owner seems nice but the employee that came up to me was so rude and unwelcoming that I don't think we'll return. It's sad because we've bought from here several times in the past but this felt ridiculously unwelcoming as customers.

I have been here several times in my visits to Rockport. It is still the same lady who owns it and she treats everyone who walks in like they are family. Very homey, large selection of cute things for a smaller store.

This cool little kitschy shop in the Rockport Arts District has fun stuff! This is the oldest continuously running gift shop in Rockport- open since 1946. They have all kinds of the weird novelty stuff that you need when you go to the beach! They've got a huge variety of seashells (few, if any are local) that are beautiful, and would look great in your fish tank or home's seaside scene! They've got postcards to send to your friends, and all kinds of things that say "Rockport Texas" on them. Need a novelty bottle opener? They've got 'em. Seashell covered treasure chest? Check! It's like Davy Jones' locker in here. They've got the largest selection of stuff made out of seashells that I think I've ever seen. It's like they've raided The Little Mermaid's parent's underwater castle, and are selling off the conch shell chandeliers, oyster shell light switches, and weird nautical works of art. The staff is friendly, and seem happy to have browsers and window shoppers come through. Parking is easy, and it's in a row with a bunch of other cool shops along the same street.

Cute little shop, lots of shells and other cool things to choose from at great prices. Deducting one star because I had to wait FOREVER to check out because the woman at the counter was having a long conversation with the family in front of me. I felt a little bad for being impatient because the woman was obviously very friendly and was just having a nice conversation, but I and several others stood in line for almost 20 minutes so they could chat. I get that this is a small, friendly store and I completely respect and admire that, but it is extremely rude to keep your customers waiting for that long. Have them step to the side, keep chatting, but continue to help the other customers in your store. I was very close to just leaving because I was so tired of standing in line.

Cute shop! Wonder owner, had a good conversation. Then sat outside with our dog and talked more. Made us feel very welcome.

Absolutely amazing owner. Truly one of the sweetest people I've met. Store has very pretty shells, 100% recommend stopping by.

TGs is a gift shop my family and I visit every time we visit Rockport. It is heavy into clothing…read moreand jewelry. T-shirts for men and tops and more tshirts for women are in heavy abundance. You can also find everything from pens, to hats, to signs and household decorations. The friendly staff make it a pleasure to shop there. My family members and I bought t-shirts, a hoodie and a charm. More often than not, we contribute some business to this store. While not always crowded, you can always find someone perusing what TGs has to offer.

This store is really, really cute. They have a TON of stuff and it is basically a souvenir haven…read morefor women. Definitely not like those cheesy, overpriced shops you'll find in Port Aransas that all sell the same exact stuff. However...I am not going to say it is not overpriced - because it definitely is. I found the cutest swimsuit top and it was somewhere around $70! I did give in and bought some Reef cushiony flip flops (and my mom bought a pricey pair as well). They were $40 which is what you would expect to pay for Reef...three hours into wearing the shoes, the cushion part started ripping and after 2 days it looks like I've had these beat up flippies for years! Technically I can't be mad at the store, but rather should be more mad at Reef. It is really, really frustrating though. Overall, though, they have a wide variety of (expensive) clothes, stuff for guys, girls, kids, home decor, lots of shoes, knick-knacks, jewelry and more. Also, the salesgirl shamelessly plugged Charlotte Plummes as a great place to get lunch at. Apparently the two places are affiliated/owned by the same people. It turned out alright, though, because we did have a great lunch there...but something doesn't sit right with me when one pair of flip flops costs the same as lunch (which included 2 alcoholic drinks)
