The company filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and again in 2020. In April 2023, Old Time Pottery was acquired by Gabe's, an off-price retailer headquartered in Morgantown, West Virginia. The acquisition included 30 Old Time Pottery stores across 11 states. The merger expanded the selection available to shoppers, and today the combined company operates more than 166 Gabe's and Old Time Pottery locations across 20 states. If you're planning to shop at Old Time Pottery, bring your comfy walking shoes because this place is HUGE! I know that City Furniture is trying to elevate its brand image and improve the quality and selection of its furniture, but that type of transition doesn't happen overnight. In my opinion, the store still has more of a budget-friendly, mid-price feel while trying to introduce higher-end furniture lines.
