First to review, YAY!!…read more So I'm pretty particular with my hair, and haven't had a proper hair cut in around 2 years (I trim the ends myself), but I wanted a huge change and wanted a hair dresser who I could trust. I searched and searched for a salon around my area who was not only recommended but was a good price. I stumbled across Love Hair, I checked them out on line, and even emailed them to make sure I was booking the right option. I used the online booking system- Treatwell, and ended up with a same day appointment, YAY! When I arrived at Love Hair, I was a tad early, so was happy to wait. Unfortunately I ended up waiting around 30-45mins, which was beyond Jane's control. Luckily, Jane and Jack are both super friendly, and were keeping me updated the whole time. So onto the cut. I LOVE IT! Jane really listened to what I wanted, and took a great pride in her work. Even though she was now running over 45mins behind her schedule, she did not rush me or the cut at any time. Love Hair Brixton is a reasonably new salon, and in a sea of salons their friendliness, passion and skills is what will bring me back.

I have had to return twice or more for a root retouch or where the colourist hasn't listened or realised what strength colour should be put in first place or where grey roots have shown after as little as 2-3 weeks. When I voiced my concerns it appeared they listened but when I returned again, no they hadn't listened at all as same mistakes were made again. You have to ask a few times for a cup of tea! Before finding this little gem I had some really horrible cuts at some of the big hairdresser chains. Having rather curly hair seemed to present a real problem to most hairdressers. I was always hoping that they wanted me to look funky, but I assume they just couldn't cut it properly. The salon is owned by Sally, who is also the main hairdresser, but I normally book my cut with Sophie. I love the way they are dealing with customers. They always ... and I mean always ... ask me what I want to have done before they start the whole routine of wash, cut and so on. I find the questions very comforting, because even though they know me and my hair they give me the option to change my style if I want to. I normally have colour and cut done, but I also had the Brazilian Blow Dry done several times with them, which turned out beautiful every time and was marginal cheaper than in the more central salons. The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly. Most people are regulars, but you also have the walk in customers. Sally is also offering a reward scheme, which gives you a stamp for every £25 spend in a single transaction and £10 off after eight stamps.

I went for the colour and a basic cut, no particular style. I wanted to keep mine. I left with a not "brilliant" colour but I could bear with that at that very moment...the problem came up when I got home! I didn't notice that behind my neck a big part on my left was not trimmed! It looked horrible...thinking also that who did the job was the Senior stylist! My tint also started fading after 2 weeks.. I was not given any option for the price, like the different price of a senior stylist or a stylist prices so I ended up paying the highest price ( I assume therefore she was the Senior stylist). I won't return for sure! Now I am going to a school for hairdresser..they might do mistakes but at least the price is much more affordable and so far...no mistake but bright colours!
