I am a PE teacher and have led many water sports trips. I am experienced sailor and do not usually suffer from any form of sea sickness. On Tuesday 29th July my father and I went on the glass bottom boat trip at 4.30pm in Denia. My father had booked it so that we could have a fun day out together which we rarely get to do these days. We arrived at about 4.15 and were told that there was a possibility that we wouldn't be able to go out because of the rough sea. However at 4.30 we were told that the sea was fine to go out on. Within about 10 minutes of being out on the sea it was apparent for all to see that the decision to go out was the wrong one. The sea was so rough that the boat was being buffeted all over the place. The water sprayed over the sides of the boat soaking some of the customers. There were times when I thought that there was a possibility that we could capsize. It was at this point that members of the customers began feeling sick. The majority of the group required sick bags including my dad who has never felt sea sick before. As stated earlier I have never felt sea sick but I certainly did on this occasion. The old lady next to me and a young girl were sick. Despite knowing this the two young man no effort was made to go back to port. Knowing that we would not be able to make it to the secluded bay and knowing that we would not be to snorkel because of the rough sea we stayed in the same spot for at least half an hour. The small hatch on the floor was opened. The glass measured approximately 100cm x 30cm. I believe it to be false advertising to call it a glass bottom boat and only have such a small piece of glass at the bottom of the boat. Needless to say no fish were seen because of the state of the sea. It was only when my father requested that we go back to port that we eventually did. However knowing that we were going to get back early the captain decided to fill time and let the young children to steer the boat. Although this was a nice thing to do it was not appropriate as it was very apparent that a lot of the people on the boat were feeling very sick as they had sick bags held to their mouths. To make matters worse the captain then took the group on a tour of the harbour and even stopped outside the company's office and called his colleague out of the office and asked him to take a picture of us on the boat. When we docked 6 of the groups of 18 went to the ticket office and asked for a refund. The young lady working at the ticket office refused to give us a refund. She did offer us another of the trips offered by the company however we were leaving Spain the next morning. After the experience that we had just had just endured I'm sure that you will understand that we never wanted to use the company again. She pointed us to the terms and conditions that stated that they can't control matters that are out of their control such as the weather. However I stated very clearly that they were in charge of the decision as to whether we went out on the sea in the first place. I stated to them that it was extremely obvious that it was the wrong decision. It was very clear right from the outset that the sea was too rough and that we would never had been able to go snorkelling or see any fish. The weather did not change between when the captain first went out to assess the water and when the group went out to sea. The young lady did not agree with me much to my amazement. To charge me and my dad 45 Euros for a totally unpleasurable experience where we both felt incredibly sick and at times unsafe, where we did not see any fish and did not snorkel was unacceptable. I believe that the decision to go out was based on the need to make profit and not on the safety, well-being and enjoyment of the customers. They knew that they would have to reimburse the customers if we did not go out, so therefore in order to make a profit they made a decision that was to the detriment of the customers. It is my belief that the inexperience and unprofessionalism of the two young men in charge of the boat led to a completely unsatisfactory experience for the customers. The fact that we were not given a refund added insult to injury.

One of my favourite parts of Javea is the strang along the Arena beach. It's full of hidden gems…read morethat take the form of restaurants, bars and shops. I got lost here as a little child and thankfully a really kind local in his shop made sure I was safe and my parents found me! There are many places along here that take me back to my many trips and holidays here. You can find several gift shops and lots of restaurants serving great food and they all come with friendly people! It's a really lovely place to walk along, in the day time it's quite relaxed and at night it comes to life with bright lights and great sounds.

Super Tennis Club, beautiful red clay courts, a couple of hard courts and a few paddle ball courts…read more The club is the home of David Ferrer's , ATF Academia of Tennis which is fantastic. A complete professional staff of tennis and physical fitness instructors there to train and bring your game to the next level and more. No shortcuts they take their teaching techniques very seriously. I strongly suggest you get in shape before you attend, physical preparation before attending the academy will enhance the experience, 4 hours of day of tennis and of physical training is intense. The clay courts are well maintained, a basic no frills gym on premise and what appeared to be a nice restaurant on premise that was closed the week we were there. Crisitin, the Academy Director, is customer driven pro, complemented by Jose, the head pro who is a no nonsense slave driver, but the reality is, if you want to enhance your tennis game Jose is the type of instructor you will want. We were so impressed and satisfied with the organization we will book at least two or three weeks this coming spring. Bueno ATF

Aqua Natura is owned by Terra Natura, the zoo park, and is located nextdoor to this parent park…read more As a water park, Aqua Natura is a separate entity from the zoo park, with separate admission, separate parking lot, and requires different attire. We visited on one of the first days open for the 2026 season. Only a handful of crazy tourists were there, braving the cold water on an overcast day. None of the water is heated but somehow my family was able to focus on the fun of the slides over the temperature. The highlight of our visit was swimming with sea lions. It was an AMAZING experience! My son absolutely LOVED every minute of getting to know the 3 sea lions (Charlie, Tino, and Joe) and swimming with two of them. Rowland and Petra run the sea lion program. Rowland is in the water with you and is a very kind compassionate trainer. He's as good with kids as he is with animals, patient and gentle. Sea lion Joe is blind, and sea lion Charlie likes to bark a lot, which is loud but fun. Your swim is supposed to last a half hour, but since it was the first day they offered this for the season and no one else had an appointment, we got some extra time. They give you a wetsuit (my son had one but he needed a thicker one because the water was cold) and booties. You get in the water with Rowland and get acquainted with the sea lions. Aqua Natura has 2 professional photographers there taking photos, getting shots of you patting, hugging, and being licked by the sea lions. Rowland gives the sea lions a few fish and has them do a few tricks. Soon he has you holding their necks as they swim around the pool with you riding on their backs! He also has you swim out a ways and shout, "Help me! Help me!" and a sea lion will come to your rescue and tow you back to the shallows! As a mom, I was nervous about my kid in the water with huge heavy strong animals. I was put at ease when I met them and Rowland, and I was able to relax and enjoy watching and photographing my son having a ball with them. Petra did make sure to offer a life vest which we definitely used for safety and I think that made all of us feel safer. This was one of the best experiences of my son's life and I know he will ALWAYS remember it. Thank you Rowland, Petra, and Tino, Charlie and Joe! :-) As of the 2026 season, it was €65 for very early season sea lions swim, plus admission for each of us €20,50 adultos / €17,50 ninos, plus €7 parking (for which we never got/needed a ticket nor receipt and for which no one ever checked). The experience was over €130 ($150 US) and we didn't even stay half a day, but it was worth it for my kid to have an amazing animal encounter. The park was clean and well laid out, with six big slides available pretty much immediately as you entered. It is not a large water park by US standards, but I definitely prefer it that way for cleanliness and to avoid crowds. Going in the early season was the best as we virtually had it to ourselves! I will add one negative which was pretty frustrating (but the animal experience was still 5+ stars): The photographer photos usually go to a computerized print machine in the photo center by the gift shop. There, you select your pictures and size/quantity of prints. The machine was broken the day we were there and they kept assuring us it would be fixed by 2pm. We wanted to leave by 1:30pm but waited because we wanted photos. 2pm came and went and they hadn't fixed it. We left really annoyed at losing sightseeing time and for nothing because they never fixed the machine! It would make a lot more sense to sell digital copies of these pictures. I would never prefer a printed glossy-sheet photo to a digital that I could have printed on canvas or made into a custom tee/mug/etc. In the year 2026 they ought to rethink their business model for photos. They obviously invest a lot in their photographers, so why not make a contemporary product useful to today's families (travelers, especially)? Just send the files to email upon payment and stop wasting time with the outdated (broken) printing machines!
