We arrived at 4pm and stayed until close at 6, I would say you need 2-3 hours if you are someone who enjoys reading the displays and really taking everything in. Sensitive subject matter, but it's presented in a way that is accurate, interesting, and moving.

The museum has many areas to visit, and like many museums a lot to read. Most of the exhibits had the information in English, so that helped a great deal. It was a great introduction to our visit to the beach later that day. The gift shop sells small glass bottles with cork stoppers that have D Day inscriptions on them. Be sure to pick one up if you are headed to the beach later, as you can use them to collect a little of the beach to take home with you.
