Deep in the Booderee National Park, where everything but yourself could kill you - is a 400m walk through some pretty dense bush and a promise that it's all worth it at the end, a promise of paradise on earth - yes, just like the old 80s bounty commercial (minus that almighty ooze of chocolate over coconut and that weird guy smelling water). Ok, maybe it wasn't that dense, and maybe there were tyre tracks from a massive truck we could follow down, but I'm still claiming everything could kill you in the bush.
Feeling a little chuffed that we walked through here in thongs (flip flops for any stateside folk) and no sign of ticks, leeches or eastern brown snakes, we ran out of the bush onto the beautiful sands of Scottish Rocks, kicking off our thongs as we made our way down to the water - dear god its glorious down here .. ohh and whats that?? Silence?? There wasn't another soul on this beach - not a single person. This is paradise indeed - nothing but the background noise of the waves lapping at the shore.
This is a must stop in Booderee National Park and inf ya fancy, there is a camping ground just off Scottish Rocks (Bristol Point) so bring your gear and wake up to a bay sunrise !!!
NOTE: cost to get into the national park is $11 per vehicle for a 48hr period read more
