It's San leandro...it's calm and a good place to live overall...Not bad at all, it's safe in…read moregeneral and pretty laid back. The San Leandro Marina is a great part of the city as a whole and San Leandro has good places to eat. You can relax, enjoy good food, local business and park with no worries most places. There are several parks/green spaces and the hills are close like most bay area cities. There are no huge gripes about San Leandro. Cheers!

If you are following, you probably noticed that I am back in this city. Spending more and more time…read morehere. Quality/Quantity - Cut and pasted from the internet: San Leandro is located on the Rancho San Leandro and Rancho San Antonio Mexican land grants. Its name refers to Leander of Seville, a sixth-century Spanish bishop. Definitely a city that continues to improve. But it still has a long way to go. Some highlights: SL Marina. Monarch golf course. Farmers markets. Arts and culture. Shopping - Marina Square Mall (too crowded on weekends and watch out for car break ins), Westgate, Bayfair (slowly dying), Greenhouse Marketplace, East 14th, Costco, etc. Breweries - Drakes, 21st Amendment, Fieldwork, Son of Liberty Alehouse, Blindwood Cider, etc. Industrial area - Gainful employment. School district and Kaiser being the current largest employers. Atmosphere - 15.5+ square miles, approximately 2.2 water. Population 91k+. SL hills to the east. The Bay to the west. Demographics have shifted significantly in the last twenty years. Surrounded by major highways - 880, 580 and 238. Which is good and bad. Also quick access to the other side of the bay via 92 or the Bay Bridge. 16 parks. Marina park is my favorite. Near/easy access to the Oakland Airport. Our favorite Bay Area airport. Service - Overall good, but it also depends on what you do, eat, and drink. Events, see websites. One of the friendly police departments. Price - Still very affordable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1872.
