Hopefully under President Trump we will get treated like human beings again. But Dr Willens has been treating for 10 yrs, when I leave I do feel like he has really helped me. He listens and treats problem. Thank God for doc willens, if he was not here, he veterans would not have any where to go.

Advanced Pain Management is the best clinic I've attended for pain management. In the last 20 years…read moreI've been with a lot of doctors and I can't say how much I appreciate Dr Willens and his staff. Dr Willens offered me real hope from the beginning that I would be better. I'm not sure if I will believe him because I was quite afraid to make a change. It's been my experience that when they start talking about changing you're gonna be stuck with a lot of pain Because so many doctors don't believe in pain management. They have taken such care with me I'm so glad that I followed the plan. It has been life-changing for me. I take far less medication that I did when I arrived, which is a great thing because he is reduced my pain which is a great thing! Which I can't say I ever felt this good any other time with any other doctor! Girls in the office are wonderful. You're so kind. They called to check on you. You won't be disappointed. In fact I feel you'll feel as lucky as I do.

I had previously been seen in the emergency room at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, where the doctor documented that I was unable to bear weight on my right leg and provided a knee immobilizer. At the orthopedic appointment, the doctor asked why I was there and commented that I "looked perfectly healthy." I explained that my knee had been collapsing, shaking, and causing significant pain for several weeks, and that the ER doctor documented I could not bear weight on my leg. The orthopedist responded that ER notes like that can sometimes be exaggerated and also commented that since I am young, I should not be having these kinds of problems. As a patient, that was frustrating to hear. Being young does not mean injuries or knee problems cannot happen, especially when symptoms like instability and pain have been ongoing. I came to this appointment because it was the orthopedic provider covered by my insurance and I was trying to get answers about what is wrong with my knee. The doctor did order an MRI, which I appreciate, but the overall interaction felt dismissive and made me feel like my concerns were not taken seriously. I hope the office works on listening more closely to patients' symptoms and experiences. they also did not want to give me a work note when I asked for it at the front desk so I later had to call and they had an email me yet.

How you call yourself a "Pain Management" doctor is beyond my comprehension! Watching my husband…read moresuffer and be in constant agony this entire summer under your care has been heartbreaking and unbearable to watch. ALL because CYA is more important to you than a person's well being. Because people are overdosing on fentanyl on the streets, you doctors are too afraid to give prescriptions of medicine that will actually help to the people who need it most. My husband was in a car accident, hit from behind and his MRI proves he has suffered multiple herniated disks in his neck and back. Surgery has to happen. BUT in the meantime, you give NO pain medication for this man!? Pardon me, Gabbapentin was your suggestion. I am here to tell you I have not seen any relief from this medication. In fact, the nerve pain is so bad he tells me that his arm hurts worse than his neck at times. He cannot sleep, I have not seen him sleep for more than 2 hours at a time since this accident because of the pain. He's constantly taking baths and falling asleep in the bath because it's the only way to get any relief. Sleeping in bathwater!! Having to work during the day (which, involves a lot of driving) Half awake everyday. Naturally he's on edge, has little patience and is basically in survival mode. Looking into his eyes are so sad these days. He is so miserable! It is absolutely heart wrenching to watch and not be able to help. I think to myself if you, Dr. Powell, had a spouse going through this you would in no way allow this to happen to them. To suffer so unnecessarily like this. Why does my spouse have to suffer? He has never abused pain medication. Ive been married to him for over twenty years and cannot remember a time he's ever even needed or taken it! He obviously has pain, you can see it on the MRI and surgery is being scheduled. Why would you not prescribe this man some pain medication in the interim??? He cannot have surgery any faster than it can be scheduled because if he could, he'd have it done today, he's in so much pain! We are not a third world country, we have access to medicine and this seems absolutely inhumane to me. Pain medicine is not good long term, but in the short term can make all the difference. Even as far as a person taking their own life over being in constant pain. Shame on you, the program you have Tony Crafts on is NOT "managing his pain" one iota!!! I hope this message will cause you to reflect on your choices and perhaps compel you to put yourself in your patient's shoes and consider that their days matter too. As someone with a diagnosed, painful condition, your care team has a moral and ethical obligation to help.
