I'm so glad i found this dentist!!! I just moved from Japan a couple of months ago, so it was my first time to go to dentist in the states. I was very nervous. but everyone at the dentist was so nice! the lady at the front desk tried to squeeze my appointment in before my wedding so that i can have brand-new crown for my big day. and Dr.Kim did my root canal. He made sure if i'm doing okay like every few minutes. He was very professional and nice. He helped me to ease my nerve a lot. tho i give only 4 stars because Dr.Kim is available only on wednesday. and this place is hard to get appointment in general. you may have to wait a couple of weeks. (i mean, that shows how popular they are, so i guess that's a good sign, but still, it's inconvenient.) read more

Dr. Scott and his staff are liars and crooks. Dr. Scott openly admits to purposely not gluing in permanente crowns in order to quote on quote keep his business booming as he stated directly to me while getting work done. I questioned treatment he was preparing to do on me and the day I arrived for said treatments Dr. Scott and his staff treated me like garbage while being extremely rude towards me. I kept quiet and had tears streaming down my face. Dr. Scott refused to work on my infected teeth and told me to leave his place of business. All BECAUSE I DIDNT APPRECIATE BEING TREATED SO POORLY AND RUDELY by his front office. Dr. Scott is a crook and thief and he will go out of his way to royally screw someone over if his staff doesn't like you. Refused to take a patient for a cleaning procedure. Money grabbing operation... all about billing back the insurance. Not ethical.

Last week I went in for pain I was having in my tooth. Dr C diagnosed the problem, a cracked tooth. I was rescheduled with the surgeon De Gamarnick. At first there were discussions about extracting the tooth. Dr G evaluated and determined a crown would work with a minor surgical procedure. I'm so happy I was able to keep the tooth. Being in the dental insurance administration business I know how DDS offices operate. I have to say that Dr. Christensen seems to be a pretty good dentist. His office staff, however, leave a lot to be desired. I got an estimate on two crowns, both covered under my plan. I went in to have the work done and low and behold AFTER my teeth were drilled on I was told one of the teeth were NOT covered and I had to pay $600+ for it. I was so upset with this office that I just paid them (like a dumbass ~ don't ever pay until you talk to your insurance company). The staff totally humiliated me in front of the other patients. I still don't understand what happened here. All I can tell you is get your treatment plan in writing and ask A LOT OF QUESTIONS of the staff. And be careful about wearing jewelry or talking about your happy marriage ~ "M" in the front office is in an unhappy marriage and you may get punished with a high dental bill if she catches wind of your happiness! If you want a great DDS go to the dentist for the Mighty Ducks ~ Rick Morimoto ~ great guy and he won't rip you off or have you wait while he works on 2 or 3 other patients. He's not an HMO or PPO in-network provider but I have learned in dental you get what you pay for. read more

So Wednesday night I was in so much pain that a stranger asked me if I was ok. That's right, big tough Dave, the one who always says he has a high tolerance for pain so he doesn't have to take pain medication, was nearly incapacitated by a toothache. Yes that's right, a toothache. After digging my insurance card out of the back of my desk drawer I called Dr. Christensen's office first thing Thursday morning. I was assinged to the office by the insurance company almost 2 years ago but chose to keep going to my old dentist for cleanings since he only charges me $45 for cleaning and exam. But, this was something serious. There has to be another word. Something to describe the incredible pain I was in. Something stronger and more severe than a mere toothache. On the phone I was told that they were pretty booked up. I said I could be there in half an hour and would be willing to sit all day if they could squeeze me in somewhere. Did I mention how much pain I was in? Did I mention that I wasn't able to sleep at all? So a half hour later I'm in the office filling out paperwork. Shortly after I'm in the exam room with Dr. Christensen's hands and several tools in my mouth. "Cracked #14, second to last upper molar on left side, do you remember biting down on something and causing this?" "No." (Note to self: stop chewing ice) He tells me it will need a crown and that he can do it. He shoots me up with novacaine and sends me to the waiting room so he can see another patient while I get numb. At this point I don't care how long it takes--I'm numb, it doesn't hurt anymore. Once again, did I mention how excruciatingly it hurt?? So, after 3 1/2 hours in the dentists office I left with a temporary crown, an appointment in two weeks for a possible root canal and permanent crown, and the front desk apologizing for how long it all took. No need to apologize, I would have sat there all day long if I had to. read more

It's hard to say you had a good experience at the dentist (unless you're there for a simple cleaning - even checkups can be filled with anxiety) but I can say that Dr. Scott has made each experience for me a pleasant one. During my first visit, Dr. Scott made me feel EXTREMELY comfortable, was casual yet professional, down to earth, and explained everything to me in great detail. I was having an issue with a discolored front tooth. I had visited two different dentist prior to Dr. Scott and both of them told me there was no hope and I needed to replace the tooth with a crown. This not only consists of drilling down my tooth to a tiny stub, but it's a costly procedure. Dr. Scott immediately knew the remedy. Internal bleaching! Genius! After a 5 minute visit, internal bleaching was done, painless as can be, and within a day my tooth was no longer discolored. BAM! Just like that! Best part, no invasive procedure was needed, I have my own tooth in tact and it was 3 times LESS the price of a crown. I have since been back for additional work (he does great work by the way) and have been extremely happy. Dr. Scott and the reception staff are extremely friendly and they are very reasonable when dealing with the $$ portion of treatment. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a new dentist! read more

Incredibly gifted surgeon with an incredibly gentle touch takes his time not to rush and does it right the first time

Dr. Scott is a great dentist for anyone who is nervous about going to the dentist. He's gentle, friendly, and listens to your concerns. You never feel pressured to get more done than what you need, and they are very upfront about all of the costs. There are other dentists at that office, but the only one I can recommend is Dr. Scott through personal experience. The hygienist, Kelly, does a good job too. read more

Dr. Christensen is a nice guy and I have gone to him for years, but no more! I have had regular check ups, x-rays, and cleanings at his practice. During the last two years I complained each time about pain in my lower right jaw teeth where I had a crown and bridge work done a long time ago. Dr. C. did not take time to thoroughly check things out. In fact they (including Thompson) said I needed a root canal on a certain tooth, which ends up being the wrong tooth and wrong diagnosis. After checking out reviews for their Endodonist, I decided to get a second opinion and went to my husband's dentist, who is known as one of the leading dentists in O.C. There, I learned that the tooth with the crown was infected and totally decayed beyond the gum-line. I ended up having to have it removed, and a whole new bridge made. It has cost me big bucks, much time spent in a dentist's chair, and a month of enduring extreme pain. Furthermore, I am having to undergo two other areas that x-rays show has been festering for some years, that include decay, a crown, and bridge work, which was never caught under Dr. C. So....I'm saying here, I wouldn't trust Christensen's dentistry, except for cleaning by Maggie. read more

All I can say is that Dr. Scott is an awsome dentist. He is patient and understanding even when I cried for no reason , just because I was nervious. He was also careful that I was not in pain during the procedure and helped advise me how manage my pain following my visit. The dentists are decent here. It is a very busy dentistry. I tried to get an exam after not being there for some time. They don't pick up the phone and their voicemail box is full. I couldn't get an appointment. They lost my business and I changed to a different dentist. Too bad.. read more

The front office staff is horrid- I mean absolutely awful. They are rude, condescending, and unprofessional. They have a few patients they like to chat it up with (and flirt with) but everyone else is treated horrible. Recently Ive even waited 100 minutes before I saw the dentist and I had an appointment! Ok, so I've had a lot dental visits lately and this office is awesome! They are very professional, get you in and out pretty efficiently even though it's a busy office. Having no dental insurance at the time of my visit, I like that they are up front about what you need done but they don't try to sell you things you don't need. Given my childhood experiences with bad dentists, I never EVER thought I'd give any dentist 5 stars. Great job, Dr. C! read more

I started seeing Dr. C. after a different dentist messed up my teeth and I've really been happy with the quality of service I've received there. I'm currently living outside OC, and my current dentist has complimented the quality of the work that Dr. C. has done. The only reason that I can't give 5 stars is that they're very busy and you have to schedule an appointment months in advance and have to wait for at least a half hour when you arrive. In a way, their busyness is a good sign because it shows that people consider the dental work done there worth waiting for (the crappy dentist who ruined my teeth had an open schedule), but it's a problem for people like me whose schedule's aren't predictable. read more

I'm embarrassed to say but I have not gone to the dentist in a VEEERRY long time for a few reasons, so when I was having a major pain, Iknew I couldn't avoid it any longer. I was truly ashamed walking into the office because my teeth had gotten so bad. I first experienced Stacy in the front office who truly made me feel comfortable, then saw Dr Christensen and despite the condition of my teeth he truly made me feel ok about everything. He mapped out a game plan for my dental work and I came back the next day for a root canal with Dr Kim. I am 100% genuine when I say I didn't think it was possible to receive a root canal that quickly with absolutely no discomfort. I would highly recommend this office to anyone. My kids have loved Dr. Scott Christensen and had been going to him for over 20 years. We ran into an issue last year when our insurance "refused to cover" a root canal and crowns for my daughter. Dr. Christensen Sr. failed to advise us timely that my daughters permanent teeth had not dropped. By the Time Scott Christen advised us it was too late to save the permanent teeth. Fast forward 4 years and the baby teeth which were now acting as her permanent teeth needed a root canal. I questioned why the Insurance would not cover it. I was turned down and had to pay for it out of pocket. Dr. Christensen's office was great in working with us. The insurance was not. So I filed a complaint against the insurance who twisted it into a complaint against Dr. Christensen. Bottom line the Insurance finally agreed that it should have been a covered procedure and I was to receive a refund minus the co-payments for the procedures. Dr. Christensen's office had 30 days to issue us a refund. It took 6 weeks and I finally received the refund. 1 week after receiving a refund Dr. Christensen's office advised our insurance that they no longer wanted to be our Dentist, this after being a patient of theirs for over 20 years. My complaint was against the insurance for denying the coverage and for Dr. Christensen for not pressing hard enough to fight for my daughter. Dr. Scott Christensen is a wonderful dentist who my kids loved and we are saddened that we have been asked to leave over this. read more

After searching for a good dentist for my family for years, we now have a GREAT dentist with Scott Christensen. My 12 year old knocked out most of his front adult tooth and he could not have been in better hands for the permanent crown process. Dr. Christensen was extremely empathetic and a perfectionist when he was placing the crown on the tooth. He and his staff found the time to get my son in for the emergency treatment and all the required follow-up appointments. I cannot recommend this office enough. I just completed the long process of a dental implant on a front tooth that had bone loss and the results are amazing. I want to thank Dr. Gamarnik, Dr. Christensen and the staff for making my smile better than ever. I had to undergo several surgeries and not once did I experience pain afterwards. Dr. Christensen always made sure I left the office looking the best possible under the circumstances. I come from a family that are in the dental field on the East Coast and so happy I have found a dental office on the West Coast I can trust. Dr. Christensen is very nice. I was referred by my cousin. I've been going there for the past year. I've always had a fear of dentists because of my trials as a child, but I'll have to tell you this doctor was very nice and made it very comfortable for me to get started with him. I've seen many dentists over the years, and this doctor is one of the best I experienced. I feel that the prices are reasonable especially I don't have any dental insurance. You can always ask for a discount. I've done a crown recently with him, and very happy with results. My previous experience with a dentist out in Tustin was horrible. I immediate had problems with prior dentist and her dental work. I recommend this clinic to family and friends. read more

They canceled my emergency appointment at 7pm the night before on a thurs.

The doctor was kind. The staff is unprofessional, they do not admit their mistakes, shortly a terrible experience with them. Once they told me I had come in on the wrong day and they didn't want to accept me for my visit. I have a very busy job, it's difficult for me to get time off to see the doctor, and I am anal about planning, I had the date and time written down in several different calendars. I insisted, and they accepted me, I told the doctor about this and he didnt seem surprised. The staff never apologized for their mistake. After the visit I had to make an appointment for another procedure. They quoted me $80 for the following visit. When I went in 3 weeks after, they said I had to pay $500. I asked them what changed and they said it was always $500. They were asking me who quoted me the $80 amount and it was them! Again, they didnt apologize. Unprofessional staff, wasted my time, I am changing dentists. Extremely unsatisfied with this place. The doctor should consider changing his staff if he doesnt want to lose patients. read more
