This Post Office is right next to the bus stops at the Market which is really handy as I enter town, thus making it difficult for me to forget to post a letter I have with me. The shop is quite small and it does get very busy, sometimes the queues are out of the door, particularly on a dinner time, so I find it is best to avoid going then. The staff are very efficient and I find it great that I can get cash out over the counter here aswell, so I can do loads of jobs at once instead of trailing left, right and centre all over town. This is a great little post office in the heart of the town centre. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and very efficient at their jobs. From paying bills to posting letters and more, all of this can be done here. There is also a stationary and gift shop attached to the post office, with everything at affordable prices. The one downside to this post office is its size and it's popularity. This unfortunately leads to lengthy queues out the door and onto the high street. However the queues do move quite quickly. read more

I'd recommend you use this post office if you find stairs hard. It's on the ground floor, and close to the bus stop. The main post office in Carlisle was closed and is now on the 2nd floor of WH Smith. use this one instead. The queues do indeed sometimes go out the door, but they do move fast. read more

Check when you get cash , my mother visited the branch yesterday and the counter clerk said she had given her withdrawal and she had not , too busy talking to her colleague ... Its a great post office but after that humiliating visit I'm afraid we will not be using it, Disgusting protocol in place ....wasent any ..my mother received her money but on the way out , the clerk said "if you find it" return it ....disgraceful, I think the manager needs to train staff on what to do in that situation read more
