Disappointed in Dr. Omura's cookie-cutter approach to all his patients. Does a good talk at the first visit, but doesn't take the time to get at the root cause of your pain. Does his routine adjustment whether it's needed or not, and sends you off. Next visit: same. Next visit: same. He has one standard routine and doesn't take the time to understand and change his approach based on how or if your body responded to the last visit. Gino is nice..But unfortunately no results seen. The team at SCORE works magic. Years ago I started seeing them for PT and myofascial release because Dr. O was the one provider (out of at least ten PT/OT places I tried) who was consistently able to improve the pinched nerve in my shoulder. Anytime I have a new injury or joint pain I go back, and I think I might like Dr Kiana even better! The inspiration for this review is that I've been seeing them for knee pain and all this last week I've been walking up and down stairs and crouching and running in better condition than I was *before* my injury, without any of the knee aches and clicks that I'd had for years. I threw out my back at the gym (I'd like to say it was lifting massive weight but really it was as I got up from a bench after a set, old man syndrome) and I needed a place to help out. My wife researched some places and found SCORE and well it was a Score!!!! The therapists are great here (I've seen two of them in my time at the clinic), they really take the time to get to know your problem and work with you through the pain to better health and strength. On my first visit I returned to 50-60% mobility (the elctrostim really helped a ton) and after a few more visits I was back to doing back exercises and feeling great. I love the deep stretches and also the coaching they provide to help ensure my back stays healthy for the long term. This place is perfect, they have a ton of appointments so you can almost always get in when you need it and they also take insurance. I went to Score on the recommendation of a spinal surgeon. He said my back pain was something he could not really help with since nothing appeared abnormal on x-rays. After about one month of twice weekly visits, my pain is gone. I want to specifically thank Dr Kiana and Gino for the excellent care provided to me. My neck, shoulders and back have been bothering me for some time now, and when I started to feel more pain recently, my guy recommended that I visit his chiropractor, Dr. Omura, who he's been to for years. I'd never been seen by a chiropractor, so I really didn't know what to expect, and if it would truly relieve my pain. When I arrived at the office, I noticed that the walls were covered in autographed glossies of athletes. I knew that I would be in good hands. Prior to my adjustment, they attached an electric muscle stimulator on four points on my back, which went for what seemed like at least 10 minutes. It felt super weird to feel my muscles spasm like that, but it was actually relaxing at the same time. After the EMS, they used a huge thumping massager all over my back, which was pretty intense. At this point, I was really relaxed. Dr. O (as most patients call him) adjusted me, and I almost instantly felt a difference. He took time to explain why the pain occurs, and how to help prevent it. He suggested that I return for a follow up where he would teach me stretches. I thought Dr. O was super knowledgeable and loved his upbeat personality. What's great about this clinic is that there are various other treatments that they offer. They do specialize in sports chiropractics, and also offer message therapy, acupuncture and personal training. Introduced to this chiropractor, "Dr. O" and his clinic about six years ago by a friend, I like to visit from time to time for the comprehensive treatments. The friendly staff are caring and competent. I am usually brought to a private room to have electrical stimulation with heat and then massage prior to any adjustments. Dr. O also is very knowledgeable about physiology and tailors his treatments to the needs of the patients. Afterward, I get to enjoy lying on the massage table w/ or w/o ice. Pretty sad to state even though my family's dedication to come to this place, I will no longer. The service is not consistent with me and I don't appreciate being offed to someone who really cannot deal with my issues or even crack me. Thank you to a good friend for recommending Score to me! I am so happy to have found a great chiropractic place that takes my insurance! Finally no longer having to pay lots of money to be adjusted and now that I am pregnant....I need weekly visits due to my lower back and tailbone pain. I have been seeing Dr. Travis and he is awesome! Super personable and friendly and easy to talk to. I love my visits with him and always feel 100% better after my visits. They usually start me out in one of the rooms on my left hip and the Dr. uses this machine that sort of reminds me of a sander to massage my lower back really well. It feels great! Then he moves me over to an adjustment table where we do some leg stretches and then on to the adjustments. I've been a patient of Dr O's on and off since 1998. I recently came back into the fold as the wifey was having hip issues due to a bunch of running events she was doing. Dr O and his staff to the rescue! They were able to patch her up, teach her some stretches and roller moves to help out. She was very happy with their service. Since she was going there, I decided to have them look at my shin splints. They've worked miracles! I came to SCORE because of their Sports Chiropractic focus. I had a knee surgery that didn't really solve the problem, and my doctor wanted to do another arthroscopic surgery. This place is AWESOME! A co-worker recommended SCORE while I was training for a marathon. I had never really considered going to a chiropractor, but I was having some moderate knee pain (pretty common for runners), and my Primary Care doctor didn't really do anything for me, so I decided to give Dr. O's office a try. Aside from the usual adjustments that chiropractors usually do, Dr. O and his staff taught me stretches and hip/glut exercises that helped my knee tracking issues. After a month or so, I was able to run longer and faster with fewer issues. I recently finished my first half-marathon, and I wouldn't have been able to do so without SCORE Clinic. I actually went a few days before my race and had Dr. Brink tape up my injured ankle, which definitely helped with my performance. First, let me say that I have NOT been treated at SCORE Clinic, which is actually the basis for my rating - you can never get into the place for an appointment! Clearly that seems to be the good - and the bad news. Great reviews and treatment have the place always fully booked - so as much as you may want to get into this place, alas it seems you never can.... I've literally made three attempts to get an appointment there over past few weeks given the amazing reviews - every time I've called they're "fully booked" and no appointments are available. I was offered to be placed on a wait list to get a call back in event of appointment cancellation - or that they would follow up to book an alternate date - and never heard back from anyone. Obviously, when you are in pain and need help, being put out 2+ weeks is not particularly helpful. So, it appears if you're one of the fortunate few that make it past the receptionist to get a reasonably timed appointment, you're in luck and experience great care. But be forewarned, if you are seeking a prompt appointment there's definitely no squeezing you in here at any measure - not same day, next day or even in a few days...apparently getting appointments here is measured in weeks. Given the inability to get an appointment at any reasonable time frame and lack of follow through by staff, I have to give them a 2 rating... read more

I began seeing him about seven years ago after a "near miss" weightlifting accident that caused me considerable lower back pain. His overall professionalism, attention to detail, and concern for his patients is exemplary. He really goes the extra mile, not just in treating a specific injury but in looking at the bigger picture (job factors, genetics, nutrition, exercise regimen, and overall health) to diagnose what is the best long term solution tailored for each individual. plus .5 repeating decimal~ :) My guess is that I am Dr.Omura's longest patient! I had seen him maybe 60 times prior to his opening SCORE knowing him from his previous employment. I had 47 orthopedic surgeries since 1998! Yep-47! Should I wait? Should I call the Guinness book! Should I get a few more surgeries prior to trying out for a Frankenstein movie? What should I do! Anyway, Dr.O has performed A.R.T., ultra sound, PT, EMS Grastan and every and any other form of therapy on every joint in my body over the past 12 years! He has even fitted me for orthotics a few times. And let's not forget the Isagenix cleanse! Wrists, shoulders, knee,ankle,hips.......he's been there as I have had surgery on all of these and I have received extra VIP and quality state of the art treatment, or should I say HELP from SCORE with genuine care and a fingers crossed concern by all I would and could recover. Yet one more time! I have had so much treatment here I could go to a medical supply store, buy a white doctors robe, get my name embroider on the pocket and start applying therapy to Dr.O's patience! . I have recommended lots of people, from a guy who dropped a 20 pound plate on his big toe at the gym to a street person limping with bursitis I drove over there once about five years ago! The Great quality treatment here has been so vast and valuable I'm indebted to SCORE! I feel I have been around so long that I'm on the second generation of some of the staff chiropractors who got married since working for Dr O, and raised Palmer grad offspring since I have known him! !-just kidding! I was a chiro skeptic for a long time. But, I've been coming here for about 5 months now for a chronic bad back and my back feels much better on a day to day basis. There is no way to cure chronic back pain (yet), but if you can manage it, which Dr. Tomo has been able to do for me, it means a world of difference. Dr. Tomo is a great guy, easy to talk to, and listens to how you are feeling and adjusts accordingly. Was being adjusted right next to Cung Le the other week, so that was pretty cool too. I went in for custom insoles for my ice skates and a check up. I had a spine adjustment and I feel my body loosening up. The chiropractor told me that there was scar tissue in my right foot and he used a metal instrument on it. I felt my circulation getting better, since my feet are cold all the time. Then when I talked to the custom insoles specialist, he recommended the SuperFeet. As expected, he tried to upsell the stock insoles, but when he tried to put them in my skates, he said that was not going to work and we needed to do more research. I appreciate the honesty. On the bad side, I have to look for new boots (which he said was probably a better option). The soles are too narrow, even though the boots fit! That's a set of tears and an empty wallet at the Sharks Ice Pro Shop. Another pro: they checked my feet and said the scar tissue on the ball of my foot was from a stress related injury. Oops. It was probably due to my first bouts of jumping when I kept landing flat on the skate. ;_; They told me to rest and put a heat pad on it for home self-care and come back to check up later. We'll see how things go next week. They said I could cancel the custom insoles if I changed my mind. Edit: My doctor said "Are you eating too much soybeans? Do you have gout? Are you wearing high heels?" Mind you, I eat a small amount of both meat and soy. I also wear orthotic/supportive shoes from Footwear Etc, so this is an odd question. Then I reminded him I figure skated. "Oh." Then he proceeded to tell me that if I took pain medication, it would go away. All righty then. I support both self-care and medicine at the same time, but this is silly. read more

When I had a consult with Dr. Omura, I just thought "yeah whatever, just quit w/ the sales pitch and give me an adjustment at a good deal cause I don't have insurance at the moment". 5 stars is not enough. I came to SCORE when I was only 18 after I was involved in a work-related injury. After over a year and no relief, he helped me to get a much-needed MRI. I was told I needed back surgery and could barely get out of bed. After having a consultation with Dr. O, he was was able to help me without unnecessary back surgery. 11 years later, and I am still happy with my decision. There is also a great massage team that includes Tisha, whom I would highly recommend. Dr. O, and the staff helped me get my life back without using surgery. I have 2 herniated discs and worked with 3-4 different chiropractors over the years. Dr. Brink was the first chiro to take a fresh look at my issues and get results. Rather than just dive into putting me on a drop table, he really analyzed the problem and found out my overly tight hamstring and calf muscles were contributing to by problems as much as my discs. He also went above and beyond to help me get better. He worked directly with my message therapist, Roger Kittles (Bodywork by roger on yelp) to get results. After a few months I started doing Pilates with Tru Balance Pilates and was getting great results. Dr. Brink met with my Pilates instructor and found out what she was doing with me that worked. He then made adjustments to his work to complete what she was doing. I'll be working with Dr. Brink until I can do back flips :) read more

SCORE got me back running again! I'm a runner. After ignoring some lingering knee pain for several months this year hoping that it would go away, it got so bad that I couldn't run any more. With my big "A" race of my season coming up about a month I was frantic. Thankfully Dr. O and Dr. Travis from SCORE Clinic San Jose were able to aggressively treat the underlying issue and get me back running again with just four (4) visits. With their help I went on to complete Hardrock 100, one of the hardest 100 mile mountain races in the country with over 33,000 feet of elevation gain. Not only didn't I have any knee pain or discomfort the entire time, but I was able to hammer the last 6 mile downhill section to finish 12th overall in just over 30 hours.
