The wait is usually about 30minutes to an hour however, there is a lovely lounge built on the Lake where you can order a refreshing Aperol or Weiss Wein Spritzer for about CHf 12.- The speed boats are quite small ( single engine) and can hold a maximum of 4 people. We joked that it felt like a water "TukTuk"; for those who travel in Asia will understand that reference. An hour was enough time to explore the lake from Bellevue passed China Garden area. It really was a great way to see the city and also give visitors an idea of how people love to spend their summers in Zürich. You can see many swimming halls ( Badis) and boats/ paddle boarders etc... I would recommend taking some towels, swim suit and water bottles because you are allowed to jump into the water during the time you rent the boat. I saw some people take some beers and snacks on the boats too which is always a good thing. Don't wear anything fancy or even shoes you mind getting wet; the boats is pretty wet from everyone using it and jumping in and out of the water. Barefoot the whole experience ;)

We sailed on the Paddle Wheel Steamer Stadt Rapperswil, which had just celebrated her 101st birthday. The cruise was smooth and comfortable, and the crew could not have been nicer. We choose 1st Class because of the large number of groups already lining up, and we felt it would be quieter and more relaxing I recommend it whole heartedly. Five Stars.

Why do it if you're only half in it? There is a good assortment of sporting goods here, whilst they try to deliver on range; they fail short in delivering. For example, I was looking for 2kg hand weights, and they sold out of every type of hand weights in 2kg. I chased down an employee who just told me sorry no more. That's it. There was no, I'll have a check at the stock room, or oh I'll call the one in Dietlikon to see if they have one, or hey maybe you should go on line and check (they do have a website you can order things from). So I went to Dietlikon location and even worse was despite the fact the store is bigger and in a remote area - they failed short of having any weights nor did anyone bother to help me. I only came here b/c it's so convenient and also a friend gave me a gift card that I wanted to use. I was on a tram today and it went by a Migros SportXX, so I figured I'd check their online store. Their online store is way better than Athleticum's, selection was much more varied and easier to find (the search tool at Altheticum website was not very clear and didn't give the exact search returns, Migro SportXX was a breeze) and the best is - the shipping is "gratis" (free), unlike Athleticum which charged me CHF 7.50 shipping for a similar item I was going to buy at Migros SportXX. So I saved a lot of time traveling to hunt for items while getting free shipping, and earning Migros punkte (points), thanks Migros!

Much of the time at various museums, but found time to walk to Lake Zurich. Big vast blue mountain lake on the edge of one of the most expensive cities in Europe. Snow covered peaks of the Alps in the background. Fancy promenade for walking around the parks full of gardens that line the Lake. Water fountain in one area, spewing a geyser of water high in the sky. Bridges and wooden towers line the river full of ducks quaking for a handout. On the opposite side is a lake shore walkway. They have a high dive tower in the summer, where dare devils jump off the 30 foot tower into the deep cold waters of the Lake below. A local band is playing. When they see that I'm recording a few seconds of music, one of the performers stops me afterward, asking if I would like to buy a CD of their music. Trying to get hustled again. Not many Asians in Zurich, and no way for me to hide that I was a tourist. As our tour leader, Marion Roy said, this was the first time she had seen a senior Chinese tourist in shorts and sandals. But she had never been to California in the summer nor Hawaii.
