This was the highlight of my vacation to The Netherlands. We didn't know if we should go or not, because it was raining, but decided to chance it. We took an Uber from our hotel out to the "Scooter Experience" and was dropped off, and was warmly welcomed. We were offered a coffee, and then given a short demo on how to ride the scooter. These are electric scooters with a high speed of 25 mph. They are really quiet, which I was thrilled about, as you can enjoy the beauty of the trail without having to listen to a loud motor. There are four different routes that you can choose from. We choose the "yellow" route which was the shortest of the four. You are given a map along with verbal instructions. You are to follow the route looking for your color of arrow to guide you along the way. You can take as long or as fast as you want but you have to be back at the start no later than 6:00pm. You are given a jacket, gloves, scarf, and stocking hat if you didn't bring yours, and if you feel like you need to bundle up. It was a cold raining day so we bundled up, and headed out. After a slow start we were finally out of the village, and were on our way......so much fun. The scenery is absolutely beautiful traveling through the country side. We were alone for a lot of the trail running into a few people here and there. It was pure heaven. Because it was cold and raining. We didn't meander but hurried through the trail only stopping a few times to take in the beauty. When I go back to The Netherlands I will make sure I book another "Scooter Experience" but a longer one next time:) read more
Wow. So great. Bart is fantastic. So welcoming, so thorough. The scooter experience is a must do. So beautiful up there. So nice to get out of Amsterdam for a day and see something new. 25 kilometers feels like a stroll compared to what I'm used to, but it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Wonderful. You can take the bus, but research carefully as there are 3 different bus systems and we bought the wrong day pass. read more

This may have been the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. After spending a few days in town, my son and I spent several hours touring the countryside just north of the city. The tour starts off in the suburbs and quickly moves into an area that is more rural, and beautiful. We passed through several small towns, each as wonderful and quaint at the next. Our tour started at 10.00 and included about 4 hours of riding plus as much off-bike site-seeing as we wanted (as long as we were back by 18.00). I know that shorter tours are also available, but we appreciated the freedom to take our time along the way. My son had never ridden a motorcycle or scooter, but had little trouble. If you can ride a bicycle, you can ride these scooters. What's more they are electric (not petrol), and run very quietly. Moreover, paths reserved for bicycles and scooters are widely available throughout this tour, making it easier to navigate without encoutering automobile traffic. Take a break from the museums, coffee shops, and food to enjoy and appreciate a delightful day in the countryside. You won't regret it. read more

This is a great way to see the countryside of Holland. Located near Amsterdam, the Scooter Experience is a convenient way to get out of the city to see windmills and fishing towns. My wife and I fell in love with how the fields and canals are interwoven together -something we've never seen before in the U.S. We felt safe on the roads and the routes were very thoughtfully mapped out to show off the best that Holland has to offer. Also, the Owner is a standup guy who went out of his way to make sure we had an awesome time. I recommend this to anyone who wants the fresh air and fine sites of Holland. read more

Bart, the owner, was very responsive in his communication and very welcoming when he picked us up from our hotel. We were given a preview of how to ride the scooter and also the route we were going to take. He has a link he can send you so you can see the route on Google maps which is super helpful. He provided a drink before we took off and one when we came back which was really nice. The scooters are electric and super quiet. They feel like they go fast but we never felt unsafe. The route was so much fun. We went to see the windmills and had a blast touring the countryside. The windmills were enjoyable to see but the highlight was being able to scooter around and stop for lunch and coffee at various locations of our choosing. Highly recommend and we plan to go back and try a different route next time. read more
