This is the second location of the Scoops franchise but I'd travel to Monroe any day just to see and taste from the original location. Ice cream flavors are all created by the owners. You can sample them too before making your delectable decision. Choose from a variety of flavors like key lime pie, classic butter pecan or the kid approved Superman. The candy ice cream shop has a super fun ambience. It's the perfect place to come and enjoy time with friends and family. They have high tops or booths so sit anywhere you like. You can get lost in the array of candies. They have everything from old school nostalgic Mary Janes to giant lollipops and the scary Jelly Belly Bean Boozled assortments. They also make their own fudge, caramel apples and many other sweet treats. In addition, they serve cappuccinos, espressos and coffee! Great little ice cream shop in the small town of Covington (45 minutes outside of Atlanta). How did i end up there? Our guide for the Vampire Diaries tour told us the ice cream was very good and the cast goes there quite often. After the tour, I just happened to be craving a salted caramel ice cream so I went there. The shop was absolutely adorable with decorative pez dispensers lined up above the doorway. Though they didn't have salted caramel, they had the "turtle" which was close enough for me. They had a lot of unique ice cream flavors as well as chocolates, candies, and caramel apples (large selection). Perfect place to satisfy your sweet cravings. read more

Typical "summer-Friday-night" busy but the store is not set up properly to move the line quickly. The flavors are not listed anywhere so unless you knew the flavors ahead of time, you had to wait to move to the front counter to choose your flavor. Yummy!! Such a cute little shop on the square in Covington, GA. The outside is very quaint. There are rocking chairs you can sit on and face the square. This place has a great selection of treats including sundaes, shakes, floats, ice cream, yogurt, candy, and chocolate. I had a single scoop of pralines and cream on a sugar cone and my fiancé had the peanut butter cup on a sugar cone. Both were very tasty. The single scoop was huge. Once we got to the cones, we had had enough sugar though (both of our ones had a ring of frosting on the top). Next time maybe I will have a root beer float! read more

Gave the free COVID-19 topping a second chance. Went to Scoops at around 7ish on a friday night. I assumed it wouldn't be busy, but there were several people hanging around outside and the line was long, but fast. Please note that only employees were wearing masks, but customers were not. Everyone was staring at me and my boyfriend, because we were the only one actually caring about the pandemic. There was several children inside scoops, so be extra careful as they, alongside many, did not follow social distancing. I saw maybe two signs of social distancing recommendation. I was following social distancing (6 feet apart), but everyone else lined up as if COVID-19 does not exist. Earlier today, I did make a trip to Mall of Georgia where several stores strongly enforce limiting the amount of customers to a certain amount (for example limit of 6 people in store) and there would be someone outside allowing customers in but checking how many people were inside the store. This place was highly recommended so when I passed it in the plaza, I had to stop. First off, it's down right adorable. Perfect old timey ice cream place. Colorful, theme decorated and the ice cream flavors are the perfect combinations. We sat in rocking chairs outside eating out peanut butter chip double scoop and watched the cars pass. What an incredible place. Perfect reminder of day's gone by yet it actually still exists. Any kind of candy and homemade dessert you can imagine including the ever elusive (for me) hand dipped cherries. The owner was so nice and you could tell Scoops was her passion and heart. It was great seeing local teenagers working in the store and to find everything so clean. Perfect spot after a nice dinner. Great for kids but also great for date night. This place on a Spring or Summer day when it isnt super busy in the square is a perfect little "get away" from the hustle and bustle. My work team and I came here and we were served really fast. The ice cream was really good and they have indoor and outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the chairs outside and just talked and laughed.
