It was a big surprise to discover Barcomi's among the houses and little cafes. The reason why I didn't realize it was such a great place here before is, because it's hidden in one of the court yards. When you enter, it's like you're not even in Berlin anymore. They have plenty of tables outside, so you can enjoy the quietness of the yard in the summer. Location is very good for getting together with friends or family - you just better get the reservation before you go, to make sure you have a table. Food. Oh, saint food is really saint here. Barcomi's offers a pretty wide range of different kind of pies and cakes, muffins and cookies, tarts... actually makes you want to try every single of those beautiful smelling like heaven pastries. We tried the pumpkin our first night and it was very good. As a result we bought all our desserts for American thanksgiving in Berlin there. We were having dinner for 8 and got 2 mini pumpkins, 2 apple, and a pecan and a chocolate walnut. The pies were all excellent. It really helps that the gentleman behind the counter was so helpful. He spoke pretty good English and answered all our questions. Their coffee was very good as well.
