My rating is due to the lack of AC, and the bathroom's old plumbing was not removed and there was a peculiar hole in the shower where the older plumbing was and no screen door so all the bugs had come in while we left the window open during dinner as it was 90 degrees out. So my lack of sleep and annoyed with bugs that night merits the two stars. Otherwise, the amenities included a fridge, safe, average bedding. I will say that the breakfast buffet offerings were pretty good, smoked salmon and hot eggs and bacon along with other pasty offerings. Also had delicious coffee but that seems to be the case anywhere throughout Europe I think.

Staff and service excellent! Room super comfy, well appointed. Views from the rooms and balconies of the hotel are breathtaking! Restaurant is very good here too (separate review included for there). Locals dine here... it's good! Fabulous spa/pool area we used every evening. We would DEFINITELY stay here again. Highly recommend Hotel Sonnenhof!

The room we requested was provided, the front desk provided complete information, and we settled in for a week. Breakfast: was awesome. The chef has an affinity to chives. I have an allergy to chives. No problem. He custom made my requests to my liking. The Bar: open to 1:AM every night. The bartenders are friendly and able to make my favorite, a perfect Manhattan with Salmon (I'm a cat, ya know). We had the best time and couldn't say enough good things about this hotel.
