The campground itself is very nice and clean. It's very quiet and peaceful. The only reason I'm giving it such a low score is because the staff is rude and miserable. They would come check on us 3x - 4x per day and ask about our tents or cars, or anything they can ask for, it's like they had nothing better to do. The guy with the white longer hair was super rude. Never staying there again. read more
Great place to get away from town. Located outside Cottage Grove on the east side of town. Check in at the gate or go online to reserve spots. Bring your own fire wood because they don't have any on site Great place to camp! The next day head out to Dorena lake with your boat, jet ski, or bikes. Good long easy path called Row River Trail. Good 15 miles one way, depending on where you start. People are friendly here so do the same :-) read more

Clean park and decent facilities but the rest was terrible. Small and unlevel spaces with poor shade. We were there with a group from Church and we were quiet and respectful the entire time. No drinking and no loud noise. We were visited two to three times per day by the ranger. They would just randomly ask us questions, make sure our dogs were on leashes and make sure we were not parked on the grass. On one occasion we had the front tires of the truck on the grass. They said that it kills the grass and harms the tree roots. The funny thing was that they were parked on the grass while doing their routine inspections. Another question I have is why do we need two armed rangers in the campground at all times? We will never stay here again. read more

The volunteer man came at my family with an aggressive, what-the-heck-are-you-doing attitude when we simply mistaken our group camp site for another. We had arrived and came to the first group site label D and had mistaken it for our group site 003D. My sister and our three young girls were just sitting down to dinner when this awful man in his golf cart came onto the site and accused us of claiming a $150 group site reserved for the next day and would call the rangers station if we didn't move immediately. After showing him our confirmation email he rudely scoffed and told me to get in his cart so he could show me where our true site was located. I refused to go anywhere in his cart and let him know that he should not be coming at me and my family is such a confrontational manner to which he responded "I'm only a volunteer, I'm not getting paid." These jerks require money in order to have common, human decency. This A-hole didn't even offer to help us with our gear. read more
Best Army Engineers campground I've ever slept in by far. In fact, it's hard to believe that its managed by the same group that runs the dump in Sonoma County. Moderately priced, quiet, and far enough off a road only sparsely traversed at night, you'll find a nice selection of sites among tall trees. I found it nearly bug free. Best of all, the bathrooms reign supreme among campsites. Free, hot showers. Stainless steel sinks, and super clean. Not the most dramatic scenery - but very pleasant. read more

The campground is nice but thats it. The only immediate swimming, if you call it that, is the river next to it, and Its only about knee high. The lake is about 10 minutes away and you have to pay addiational fees to swim there. The camp host are rude and out of touch. We went by their to scout the area and were initially told we couldn't even drive through it, to check it out. It would be great place if you like retirement homes. read more
