(so make reservations!) As my main I went for the arctic char with ginger and lime, served with veg and risotto. It was wonderful, the fish was cooked to perfection and went perfectly with the slightly sweet and asian-inspired sauce. For dessert we shared the Topfenknödel and let me tell you, that stuff melts in your mouth. It's warm, soft and delicious, excellent! I also tasted other dishes and if you would like to go for a more Austrian dish, try their Schnitzel. It was one of the best I've ever had. Service was very friendly and attentive and you really get you money's worth there, it's not cheap but everything is of great quality and the food tastes great.

auerhahn is a very nice high end restaurant in salzburg's train station area. it is a bit hidden…read morebit very worth looking for it. the menu is quite short with a special 4 or 5 course set menu which seems to be the best seller. the food was very delicious and the interior is a mix of tradition and modern elements. staff are friendly but not the fastest. the only minus are the bathrooms which were not really clean. if you wanna try austrian food on high end level, this is the place to go! i recommend making reservations, but don't use email - they don't seem to check it - our reservation was not on the list...
