WOW and WOW Again. It happened on may 18 2017, My daughter's…read more2002 trailblazer lost it's starter in Divide Colorado. I got the call as a dad, And I work in the automotive world in motor city area in Colorado springs. so I get a starter and head up the hill to change for her. But a major snow storm pounding snow, Just cant do it myself... So I went to Big Sky Automotive in Divide Co. The Best place I knew of in Divide. And Brandon was there to greet me with a smile, And said If you can get the Trailblazer to me I will pull it right in and see what we can do. Even offered me a tow strap. I was back in 15 min with the trailblazer. he pulled it in with a ATV to the shop 20-25-min later, Out it came all set to go. And at the best price a guy could wish for... Mind you there is a big snow storm going on they pull other car's out of shop. DROPPED EVERYTHING and put full effort to the trail blazer. WOW and WOW Again. Brandon certainly knows customer service.. and how to help a guy in need ! I was totally in a mess no tow truck available 4:00pm, late in day. A true Blessing of a shop. I will always remember Brandon and his staff for going above and beyond. Kipp Keating Warehouse Manager Daniels Long Chevrolet

Nate, Ian, and Jay are good guys. They have received all of mine and my husband's repair business…read moresince we moved to Colorado over a year ago. They welded his exhaust, changed our oil, changed my brakes, replaced a bad control arm on my car, and every time I come in I feel that my concerns are properly addressed. Their price is solid and feels appropriate. It is clear that when you pay for a part and service here, you are actually paying for that service and not some corporation's pocket lining. This place will have my business until we move somewhere else, and hopefully I will find a similar shop wherever the road takes us.

I have a BMW, and finding someone here in Woodland Park willing to work on it is a challenge. That…read moreis, until I engaged with Ken at Hopfe. My first visit was for a basic oil change, but even that can be somewhat tricky on a European vehicle. I already had my own filter that I bought from the local Napa, which I intended have another shop use, but they weren't willing to work on my vehicle. I'm positive Hopfe could have sourced the filter themselves, though. Next time. My second experience with Hopfe was again for my BMW, the brakes this time. Everything has a sensor on my car, and the replace brakes notification popped on one day. When I called and spoke with Ken, I mentioned my change brakes notification is on, so I need the brakes changed. He scheduled me an appointment, and so I dropped the car off at the agreed upon date. When I was giving him the keys, Ken asked me for a refresher of why the car is being brought in. The exchange went a bit like the following: "I need my brakes changed." I told Ken. "You mean check the brakes." Ken replied. "No, I mean change the brakes. The thing is telling me to change the brakes." I said. "You mean check the brakes." He said again. "Ok sure, check the brakes, and we'll go from there." And, away I walked to do some errands. Phone rings a couple hours later, and it's Ken. He proceeds to tell me that not only are my brakes just fine, but they're not anywhere near needing to be replaced. It was a silly sensor that went bad. Ken and I talked for a bit when I was picking up my vehicle about how it's much easier to be honest, and that you don't stay in business for as long as he has "doing it the other way." Long story endless, I highly recommend Hopfe. You'll get an honest diagnosis, and quality work.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LIFTED JEEP TO HOPFE. - They do not like lifted Jeeps…read more I wish I knew that before going in. Ken was nice enough, but they did not even attempt to fix the 2 things I brought my Jeep in for. Loose steering & auto transmission shifting poorly. He said Lifted Jeeps always have steering problems & they won't work on that. Ok. Even though it was written down in their apt book to look at my transmission, they did not. Forgot to & wouldn't when I asked about it. "You're lucky I took you in at all". he didn't tell me that until after I was picking up my Jeep. My 1st time there, so of course I didn't know of this bias. Again, I wish I knew that before bringing my Jeep in. I did however spend $1k for them replace inner axle seals as he advised. I like my Jeep to be in good repair. It dripped axle oil on my clean garage floor when I got it home, but only for a day. Update: Nothing to do with Hopfe directly, but 4 weeks after that appt my Jeep is gushing transmission fluid when I started it up today. It's been parked 100% in my garage for 2 weeks. Less then 11 miles driven since I asked them to look at the transmission. It seems I was right to seek a repair before something worse happened. Just too bad they didn't. 2nd Update: I was really in a bind & needed to get my Jeep fixed ASAP. Hopfe was kind enough to examine my Jeep Transmission leak even though Hopfe was booked solid for the next 3-4 weeks (August). We agreed that he probably would not have time to do the repair, but it would be super helpful for me to know if I need to go to a transmission shop or a general automotive repair shop. He reported back less than 3 hours later; saying it is a transmission front pump seal, no charge for the diagnosis. A huge favor, which I greatly appreciated. So I found a shop in COS & took it in for a transmission repair - front pump seal.... Imagine my surprise after all this - when the shop in COS (No relation to Hopfe) reports that leak is not transmission fluid, but engine coolant. What a surprise. Not transmission fluid. Not a transmission leak. That other shop fixed the problem by replacing the engine oil cooler. The transmission was fine & not leaking. Really not sure what to say about that.

The rear pinion seal was leaking on my truck, and I couldn't even get the plug off to add more oil. After taking a bunch of skin off my knuckles, I called them out of frustration. Was expecting a long wait and a big bill - but they quoted me a reasonable price to replace the bad seal, and they squeezed me in 10 minutes later. This is an extremely clean shop, with very friendly staff. They dropped me off at home, and picked me up when my truck was ready... in just a couple of hours. The mechanic who did the work found a few other problems that I wouldn't have noticed. Rather than leaving it that way, he came out and explained everything so I would understand the risks of driving it that way. He probably spared me from an expensive break down on an upcoming road trip. To top it all off, my total balance was a few bucks LESS than they quoted me over the phone. I'm keeping my truck on light duty until it's in my budget to the remaining repairs in a couple of weeks. It's a huge relief to find a local repair shop that I can trust. Thanks for the great service!
