Hearing that this castle was an ode to hunting & there was a focus on taxidermy, the Mr & I decided…read moreto stick to the lovely gardens & surrounding parks on the outside.....we didn't go inside Even so, Schloss Moritzburg is worth a visit - absolutely lovely! Very picturesque grounds with surrounding lake - lots of sculptures surround the main house and their are lots of pathways to take you into the gardens, woods and to help you get into nature I also thought it was funny that no one is allowed on the grass and security spent their whole shift chasing people away - as no one paid any attention to the signage Saw lots of goose parents w/ their goslings - adorable! So while you couldn't necessarily come here to picnic, it is still well worth a visit for a leisurely stroll & breathtaking scenery
