This place was really nice. My boyfriend and I are in town visiting friends and we stopped by for some cider and donuts. They have an open-air building where you can buy apples, jams, other jarred things. They have a TON of apple varieties - we bought the evercrisp to try. We also bought some hard cider, bread & butter pickles, and a peach pie; they had apple, strawberry rhubarb, peach, and I think cherry pie. The pies were $11.50-12.50 which is reasonable. They have a small little place to get donuts and cider. The donuts were REALLY good - they were both soft and crispy. The cider was very sweet but also good. They have picnic tables outside and even a cute, tiny table for kids. Overall this was a cute place, they do offer U-pick apples too but not at the end of October, when we visited.

We had a great time picking cherries and blueberries on the farm! You have to get 5lbs of each at minimum. Only thing that would've made this experience better is if there was a tractor or shuttle to get to the orchard area. We had to pay at the farm, get buckets, and then drive over on our own.

Stopped off to pick my own Red Haven peaches in mid-August, and was impressed with their social distancing practices as well as their produce! Farm stand is available if you're not able to pick your own.

Great local place for Apple picking and cider and donuts! They make them fresh to order usually still served warm! We love this place cause it's a nice orchard with out all the commercial things of other places. My kids enjoy playing in the natural rock garden. It's $7 for a gallon of cider which I feel is about average.

One of the hanging baskets I bought was a strawberry plant and it did very well on all of the big strawberries it produced. I still am getting strawberries! I bought two quarts of strawberries in June and thought I would get the larger ones but they were not very sweet. Wish I would have purchased the smaller ones. Also bought pound cake that Verhage Farms makes and it was very good The vegetables and fruit are a little pricey and I wont buy the fruit that stays outside in the sun until sold. They are way too ripe. I always go back to this place and try to find something else to try. Glad it is near by.

First: If they have pear cider available, GET IT. It is truly, honestly extraordinary. We went through a few gallons this year, and each drop seems to be nectar of the gods. They are closed for winter, obviously. But when they reopen in spring, here's what to expect: * Enormous tubs of whatever is in season, parked right out front of their doors * Inside shopping for things that need refrigeration (cider!), including lovely bags of spring greens that we always get, and veggies that don't need to be out in the open air * Sort of odd parking. The handicap parking is far away for me. There are two close spots to the right of the doors, and that is not a difficult walk * SO MANY KINDS of everything: apples, squash, pumpkins, well, you know Michigan harvests. You'll find all that and more here. * In the summer, LOVELY jalapenos that we stock up on and freeze for winter *Reasonable prices Tip: Weekends are busy and crowded. Mondays take a hot minute to be restocked! We go here SO often. It's a great place, with friendly people.

I'll be looking to become a Full Shareholder ($800 full season, weekly share that includes Family admission ticket to strawberry ice cream social, 1 Flat you-pick strawberries, Fall harvest dinner) or Half Shareholder ($450 for every week) in November/December so I'm ready for the full summer! Soil Friends also offers a flexible payment plan, which makes it a bit more affordable Payments can be made on your terms as long as the share is paid in full before the first CSA share is distributed for the year. In the meantime, I've been following all their fantastic Facebook updates. They have hard cider now (very tasty and not too sweet) as well as donuts. But, I stopped by today for some produce (green beans, jalapenos, and watermelon)! I was very tempted to buy ALL the things as the produce looked so fresh and beautiful! The space is also very family friendly with corn hole, ample seating & kids' play equipment. I can see why their socials, dinners could be very lively and fun. Soil Friends also posts up at the Kalamazoo Farmers' Market! But, it's worth a drive out to their farm in Augusta! 207/365
